Mike thanks for these Connie Frances videos. Know what stands out in my mind when I think of Connie Frances? Her going overseas to entertain our troups. I was able to find this video of her in Berlin singing to them. Hope everyone enjoys it. :)

Yes Myrna the first song, Green Green Grass Of Home is a sad song and has a history of being recorded by many big name singers.

Ooohhh la la, Tom Jones was a handsome devil in his day wasn't he, not to mention a terrific singer? :)

Hi there Miguel, thanks, I loved this video of Willie Nelson, one of the all time great entertainers and how true this song is, "Funny How Time Slips Away". Looking back in my own life, I often wonder where all the years have gone. :)

Not sure how familiar you are with country music singers but there are also more great entertainers in the background. The ones I can recognize are Kris Kristofferson, Mickey Gilley, Porter Waggoner and Chuck Norris. There are probably others but these are the only ones I recognize.

Again, thanks

Hello all, here is a video that fascinated me both musically and by Mr Nelson's great rendition. A jewel, perhaps not so much in the lyrics as, again, in musical worth. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Hi Mary Evelyn,

I am so glad you liked the video. It really is exceptional for several reasons, not the least of which is the presence of great musicians surrounding Willie Nelson as he sings and plays the guitar. To be true I did not recognize anyone except Kris Kristofferson, but they look so entranced as they listen.

Actually my interest in Country music is recent, I was looking for more songs to record at SingSnap and thanks to my search I discovered several great tunes that I did not even know to be country. Now I am learning to appreciate the life and work of some extraordinary artists, for example the late Patsy Cline, whose voice and deep sentiment while singing have deeply impressed me. What a pity her tragic death so many years ago.

Here is my favorite tune by Patsy Cline, 'Sweet Dreams'. I was thinking of it when I wished 'Sweet Dreams' to you and Kathleen in my post the other day.

Hi Luis Miguel,

Those are 2 coincidences about Patsy Cline and "Sweet Dreams"... I sent a CD of Patsy Cline to my parents for Christmas a couple years ago (and an Alan Jackson CD).

I haven't heard the expressions "sweet dreams" since I was a kid or when I visit my parents since I've grown up, my Mom and big sisters would always say that at bedtime.

Here's one of my favorite Patsy Cline songs:

Here's one of Alan Jackson's most popular songs from a few years ago, with lyrics:

Hi Mary Evelyn,
I did not think that you would toot your own horn, so I tooted it for you. You might have to clean the spit valve before you use it again. I am not sure if it is my computer or if all of Connie's songs have been blocked, because I couldn't listen to any of them. She does not live far from you by the way. She is a good friend of Cliff Ayres and I believe she lives somewhere in the Fort Lauderdale area. Maybe he can get them unblocked for me. She has always been a sweerheart to me. Here are some songs from another friend of Cliff's.

Be careful before saying "I remember her well. People may start calcilating your age.
GOD BLESS YOU
~Mike~
