Hello Misty,
I have looked at your site/blog and see you do not own the domain website-genie though you do have a blog there. Driving traffic to that particular blog is a blog plaform provided free by WordPress.com. If They are hosting (WordPress.com) the blog the following applies.
Quote: Responsibility of Contributors.If you operate a blog, comment on a blog, post material to the Website, post links on the Website, or otherwise make (or allow any third party to make) material available by means of the Website (any such material, “Content”), You are entirely responsible for the content of, and any harm resulting from, that Content. That is the case regardless of whether the Content in question constitutes text, graphics, an audio file, or computer software. By making Content available, you represent and warrant that: - the downloading, copying and use of the Content will not infringe the proprietary rights, including but not limited to the copyright, patent, trademark or trade secret rights, of any third party;
- if your employer has rights to intellectual property you create, you have either (i) received permission from your employer to post or make available the Content, including but not limited to any software, or (ii) secured from your employer a waiver as to all rights in or to the Content;
- you have fully complied with any third-party licenses relating to the Content, and have done all things necessary to successfully pass through to end users any required terms;
- the Content does not contain or install any viruses, worms, malware, Trojan horses or other harmful or destructive content;
- the Content is not spam, is not machine- or randomly-generated, and does not contain unethical or unwanted commercial content designed to drive traffic to third party sites or boost the search engine rankings of third party sites, or to further unlawful acts (such as phishing) or mislead recipients as to the source of the material (such as spoofing);
I see you are bursting at the seams to get it all going. Take a deep breath, slow down, and lets look at your plan. Lay it out completely in notepad copy it an paste it here or send it to me via the ALP message system.
Everything begins with your plan to achieve your goals short and long term so prior to your planning stage, you need to sit back clear your mind and ask yourself "What if I needn't worry about money, welfare of my family or means to live my dreams WHAT would I do. That is your end goal and it can change as you travel this path. Write that down. Next write down how long to allow yourself to achieve this goal. Then we will talk again. Dream a little or a lot and then lets see if we can make them a reality. ;) Jim
PS: secure http://mistyjohnson.com in some form or fashion in the near future and also please review the links and videos. Before asking more questions. ;-)
Quote: Hi Jim,
It sounds like I am pretty much out of luck with the affiliate page and Google index/ranking thing. Boo! I should be able to make headway with Google and the blog, right? And then add links from my blog to the website and that will help me out with market exposure? Just trying to make sure that my thinking is wrapping around this issue correctly. Thank you so much for all of your help =)
Do I need to try to index the blog, or does that happen automatically? I know WordPress is set up to automatically ping (is it blog directories?) when I do a new post.
Do you know how I can check to see if I made it to the index yet?
Misty
