Yes, dogs are really good friends...cats, not so much, as they can't be bothered sometimes. My little dogs go wherever I go throughout the house. They follow me into the office and curl up there. If I move to the living room, here they come. They're such loyal little creatures & no matter how you're feeling, they are there to cheer you up, by being adoring and loving. I just love dogs, & I like cats...but they just are just different creatures...brilliant, soft & also aloof. At least that's how I view them.
