Our Deepest Fear
12/31/2005 11:47:38 AM
As we go into the new year, I think this is a good thing to remember... Our Deepest Fear Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. ~ by Marianne Williamson, from A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles

Hello Linda, Thanks for the invite to a topic that does affect us all. I totally agree that our deepest fear is of success. This is why we constantly make excuses for not attempting anything new. Therefore, we become stagnant and non productive. Our greatest fear is fear itself. If you can just cross that first hurdle, each step becomes easier and easier. I am sure of this because I'm in the process of overcoming and removing barriers that I intentionally created to block my progress. This year has been one of self examination and coming to terms with my fears. Once I faced them, they went away and my progress has steadily been uphill. I learned that if you keep doing the same thing you'll get the same results. The first place to start is just to start! I would encourage anyone who has doubts or fears about themselves to read as many inspirational and self improvement books as possible and get a new attitude about themselves. Best wishes for an outstanding new year! http://www.7609.forestation.biz http://homebasedenterprises.bravehost.com
