Hi Cheryl,

I found a baby bunny yesterday, didn't think to take a photo of it. At first I thought it was a chipmunk (I thought it was dead, actually) because I was moving bricks & rocks that I had tossed into a pile on Tuesday, and found this tiny creature, but it was ALIVE and it was a tiny RABBIT...it had just been hiding or sleeping behind the rocks. I picked him up and carried him to the alley where I had seen some large rabbits a few days ago, I hope he reunited with his mom, then I saw a large rabbit about 20 feet from that rockpile later yesterday afternoon, maybe she was looking for him, I hope they find each other!

I picked him up while wearing dirty gardening gloves, so hopefully he won't smell like people and make his mom upset. I didn't want to leave him there at the edge of our yard, we've been moving rocks/bricks and he wouldn't be safe around large people who are deciding where to place heavy patio-stones.

Hi Kathleen,

Yes, I hope the baby bunny found his mom or she found him. It's hard to know what to do sometimes in those situations. She probably found her baby. Just the other day, I had let my mini poodles out, as we were going for a short ride...I saw them run over to the middle of the yard instead of getting about their business (ya know what I mean). There I found a little blue jay that was breathing heavy & I grabbed it before the dogs could do any damage. I was going to put it down just over the other side of my fence and the little thing flew out of my hands and landed a few feet away. It was clear he was a fledgling and just learning to fly.

I took the dogs to the garage and off we went. Hopefully, the little bird was ok and found by it's mama bird.

Thanks for dropping by.
Cheryl
