The Front Nine :

Hole # 1: 373 yds. Par Four

A Golf Philosophy

I learned this from one of the game’s top masters and many top players adhere to it and when they don’t, they found it was like violating a key fundamental in their game and adding another stroke or more to their score.

Golf Law: The golfer’s mission and key to scoring is to keep the ball in play and not take it out of play while playing a round of golf.

Sound simple but when you miss on this you add one or more to your score. I remember seeing Jack Nicklaus playing at a big golf tournament and after hitting the ball off the tee with the driver hooking it left on the first several holes, he left the driver in the bag and hit with the three wood the rest of the round, Instead of shooting a bad score, he managed to shoot 1-2 under par that day which left him just two strokes behind the leader. He went to the driving range to straighten out the hook with the driver and from there went on to win the golf tournament that week.
