Corrupt policing is over for me because I say so.

I feel so much fire in my belly at this moment. And hearing from Linda Steiner today (1) was exactly what I needed to get me up off my backside and speak out in a way I hope everyone speaks out.

But if I’m the only one saying this, then I am. I cannot play small any longer. I need to roar if roaring is what’s needed.

There are things that rise in me to be said and I can say them or die.

Violence against women and children is over for me in my world and it’s over for me because I say so. If I die to protect the next woman or child I see being abused, then I die. But I will not stand by and watch an instance of it.

Violence against people perpetrated against them by their government as with 9/11 and the London Bombings or connived in as with the Boston Bombings is over for me in my world and it’s over for me because I say so.

It’s not OK with me that women are treated inequitably in every system up till now run by men and it’s not OK with me because I say so.

It’s not OK with me that men throw acid in the face of women. It’s not OK with me that families shoot their daughters for choosing the man they want to marry. It’s not OK that men, if they cannot blackmail more money from their new wives’ families, pour kerosene on their brides and kill them. And it’s not OK with me by my say-so.

It’s not OK with me that my world does not work – that nations are bled dry by financiers, that oil cartels bleed the people dry, that agricompanies and chemical companies engineer tragedies for their profit. And it’s not OK for me by my say-so.

I, Steve Beckow, while non-violent, am not afraid of you. And I say so.

It’s not OK that medical care is not provided to all who need it, whether or not they can pay for it. It’s not OK that food and shelter are denied the poor, or transit, or electricity.

Never mind charity. It’s not OK that a society that calls itself one does not provide for the aged and the sick, the disabled and the young. In what way are they a society? And it’s not OK by my say-so.

On my say-so and by my say-so, I call out all who engage in corruption and cruelty and harm for their private gain or for any reason. On my say-so and by my say-so, I state here and now that a corrupt police force, a venal military, a corrupt regime has lost its right to serve the people. It’s not OK with me that such a situation last another day.

You assassins, hybrid supersoldiers, and men in black that murdered to keep the truth from being known, my name is Steve Beckow and you know where to find me. It’s not OK with me that you continue your work and it’s not OK with me by my say-so.

You have been called. And I will call you out again on my say-so.

By my say-so as a sovereign citizen of Planet Earth, I will not tolerate these conditions in my world another day. I will not brook whatever it is that exists in me that has me remain silent another day on matters such as these.

Some of you will say, oh, this is too much for me. Oh, are we going there again? Oh, what is he going on about now? If this blog turns its face from the ills of the world I’ve just mentioned or others like them, then this blog for me has no place in our world.

This blog was born of the effort to stop the cabal. It exists to see that women have equality in the world and that children have the protection they need in childhood.

If it’s not your commitment to build a world that works, including the heavy-lifting, including taking a stand on yourself and a stand on your world, then I’m truly sorry. I must have misled you at some step of the way. This may not be the blog for you. To bang on this anvil is what I came for.

Have I been hiding myself from you? have I been pretending that I was other than who I am. Who am I? I am one who came with a dedication to end the corruption, exploitation and oppression in my world and on my say-so, I will end it. I will bang on the anvil until it’s over.

No, not bang on it ceaselessly. I’ve said what I needed to say. I’m not insane, imprudent or unconscious of what you want. I’m actually more sane than I ever was because I will break the knots of fear, and I will break them publicly, wherever and whenever they arise in me.

I will have a world that works and I will have it by my say-so. I will not play small. I am not afraid of anyone and not afraid of death.

Is this emergence? Yes, I would say it is. I’m happy to emerge. And I’m happy to demonstrate that, after one emerges, one can return to normal life again as well.

I will have my world back again the way it was before so many of us (including me) lost our heads and hearts and courage. Anyone who wants to join me is welcome.

In the last few weeks we have, once again, been presented with various examples of the vulgar and violent abuses we perpetrate against one another. From the Boston bombings to the cyber-promotion of violence against women – we continue to lament over our convictions that a peaceful and loving end is nowhere in sight. We respond to these events with anger, sadness, hopelessness and fear – and perhaps worst of all – we respond with apathy toward a world gone awry. Our overwhelming sense of helplessness only compounds the struggle, culminating in a collective sigh over our burdens to bear.

While I could write volumes on why men abuse women and then proudly boast about their perceived “conquests” – what good would it really do? Would it really help to espouse, once again, that we are a society that sanctions and glorifies violence, power, domination and greed? And what would it accomplish, to once again point out that males who abuse females are not so much psychopathic individual personalities as successful bi-products of a psychopathic social structure that teaches and rewards males who conform to social expectations of brutality?

Are we finally prepared to acknowledge the symbiotic link between war, football, hunting, industrial farming, inhumane business practices, violent video-game/movie/television content and the tragic outcomes we encounter or learn about on the nightly news? I’ve honestly become resolved to the fact that we’re simply not making the link between what we mindlessly engage in and accept and the daily tragedies that we continue to face.

While watching the news last week, we listened to the “experts” question whether the Boston act of terrorism was “domestic” or “foreign”. And again I ask…what’s the difference? Is the act any less heinous if committed by an American vs. foreign-born individual or group? We still haven’t realized the full measure of how our preoccupation with these inconsequential subtleties reflect our immaturity as a global population and fuel the very conflicts we so desperately oppose.

As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” But we still haven’t internalized the gravity of this realization. We are still very much immersed in the “us” vs. “them” mindset. As long as we remain resolved to conceptualize the world in this way – we’ll be hindered in our progress as a human community. Just like the convict dragging around a ball and chain, we’ll remain shackled to the false premise of duality.

So once again – for what it’s worth – we are not separate and wayward travelers – adrift in space – alone and abandoned. We are ONE. The thoughts, feelings and actions of one are inextricably connected to the thoughts, feelings and actions of all. We must stop focusing on the minutia of specific and singular events and broaden our perspectives so that the BIG picture can come clearly into view.

We must reflect – deeply – about our interconnectedness and stop dwelling in the realm of individual conflict and the assignment of blame. We must realize that we each of us bear the responsibility to mindfully contribute the full measure of our potential in every moment of every day – in every situation and with every person, animal, plant, and rock we encounter.

Due to no fault of our own, we’ve forgotten who we really are. Having spent generation upon generation living under the socially program-induced paradigm of struggle, violence, hatred and fear – we have lost our identities and the power of our social consciousness has become disenfranchised. And while I would argue that none of us came out of the womb aspiring to the lowest order of human potential – our orientation and induction into the mentality of victimization has obscured our ability to envision a different and more loving existence.

Unity is not merely a “concept”. Unity is a verb – denoting action. To unify is to bring together – to meld into a cohesive whole. Unity cannot, by definition, be accomplished in segments. Like a circle, it must be continuous – without beginning or end – without angles or diametrically opposed points.

If you’ve grown weary of the violence, abuse and fear scenario – then change your perspective to one of peace, love, equity and joy. Changing your “outlook” will result in your change in behavior and the choices you make. These changes will trigger a domino-effect of social transformation that will catch like wild-fire until the whole of the global population has been ignited with the energy of Oneness. In short – to change your mind is to change the world.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev charged with using weapon of mass destruction at Boston Marathon

Terror suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was charged on Monday with two counts of using a weapon of mass destruction to kill, injure and cause widespread damage at the Boston Marathon a week ago. If convicted, the 19-year-old could face the death penalty.

Three people were killed and more than 200 others wounded when two powerful homemade bombs exploded near the race’s finish line.

Tsarnaev made his initial appearance before a magistrate judge in his hospital bed at the heavily guarded Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he remains in serious condition. According to a federal official, Tsarnaev is sedated and unable to speak.

Tsarnaev is charged with one count of "using and conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction (namely, an improvised explosive device or IED) against persons and property within the United States resulting in death, and one count of malicious destruction of property by means of an explosive device resulting in death." If convicted, Tsarnaev could face the death penalty.

According to the U.S. attorney's office in Boston, the judge advised Tsarnaev of his rights and the charges against him. Tsarnaev declined to answer bail questions and agreed to a probable cause hearing, set for May 30.

"Court is satisfied that the defendant is alert and able to respond to the charges," the criminal complaint unsealed Monday read. Tsarnaev, who had been detained by the FBI, is now in the custody of U.S. marshals.

“Although our investigation is ongoing, today’s charges bring a successful end to a tragic week for the city of Boston, and for our country,” U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers remain with each of the bombing victims and brave law enforcement professionals who lost their lives or suffered serious injuries as a result of this week’s senseless violence. Thanks to the valor of state and local police, the dedication of federal law enforcement and intelligence officials, and the vigilance of members of the public, we’ve once again shown that those who target innocent Americans and attempt to terrorize our cities will not escape from justice. We will hold those who are responsible for these heinous acts accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

Earlier Monday, White House press secretary Jay Carney said Tsarnaev would not be held as enemy combatant.

Tsarnaev was brought by ambulance to the facility after he was captured in Watertown, Mass., on Friday, following an intense manhunt that included at least two shootouts with police and ended with the bloodied suspect taken into custody from a tarp-covered boat he had been hiding in. He apparently suffered gunshot wounds to the neck and leg.

Tsarnaev's 26-year-old brother, Tamerlan, the other suspect wanted by the FBI, was killed during a late-night firefight with police in Watertown. Tsarnaev managed to escape on foot, prompting a citywide lockdown as police conducted a house-by-house search.

The Tsarnaev brothers, who were born in the former Russian territory known as Kyrgyzstan and are of Chechen descent, lived in Cambridge, Mass., for several years. Dzhokhar became a naturalized American citizen last year.
