Do They Know Something We Don’t? Corporate Insiders Are Selling Stocks At The Fastest Pace In 10 Years

A lot of things are starting to happen that we haven’t seen since the last recession. A few days ago, I wrote about the fact that home sellers in the United States are cutting their prices at the fastest pace in at least eight years, and now we have learned that corporate insiders are selling stocks at the most rapid pace in ten years. So why are they dumping their shares so quickly? Do they know something that the rest of us do not?

Certainly nobody can blame them for taking advantage of the ridiculously high stock prices that we are seeing in the marketplace right now. But stock prices have been very high for a while. Why is there such a mad rush for the exits all of a sudden? According to CNN, corporate insiders have sold 5.7 billion dollars worth of stock so far in September…

CEOs are using the market boom to quietly cash in their own chips.

Insiders at US companies have dumped $5.7 billion of stock this month, the highest in any September over the past decade, according to an analysis of regulatory filings by TrimTabs Investment Research.

It’s not a new trend. Insiders, which include corporate officers and directors, sold shares in August at the fastest pace in 10 years as well, TrimTabs said.

It would be one thing if September was an anomaly, but the fact that insider shares were being sold so rapidly in August as well indicates that this is a clear trend.

Could it be possible that these corporate insiders believe that the market is about to take a tumble?

Of course it doesn’t exactly take inside information to see the writing on the wall. On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve raised interest rates for the third time in 2018. Overall, this is the Fed’s eighth interest rate increase since 2015, and it looks like the Fed is anticipating three more rate hikes in 2019

Looking ahead to 2019, Fed officials expect at least three rate hikes will be necessary, and one more in 2020.

“The Fed shows no signs of taking (a) breath in rate hikes,” Robert Frick, corporate economist with Navy Federal Credit Union, wrote in a research note.

This is terrible news for stock market investors, because every rate hiking program in the history of the Federal Reserve has ended in a stock market crash and/or a recession.

In fact, since 1957 there have been 18 rate hiking cycles, and every single one of them has ended in disaster.

So do you think that we are going to beat the odds this time?

After raising rates again, the Fed released a statement in which it said that it expects the U.S. economy to grow “for at least three more years”

The Fed sees the economy growing at a faster-than-expected 3.1 percent this year and continuing to expand moderately for at least three more years, amid sustained low unemployment and stable inflation near its 2 percent target.

“The labor market has continued to strengthen … economic activity has been rising at a strong rate,” it said in its statement.

You can believe that if you want, but it is also important to remember that Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke assured all of us that a recession was not coming in 2008.

And later we learned that the moment when he made that statement a recession had actually already begun.

Needless to say, investors were not thrilled by Wednesday’s rate hike, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped another 100 points. Stocks have really struggled this week, and we continue to get more disappointing news from the real economy. On the heels of a “disappointing” existing home sales report, we just received news that new home sales missed expectations

Following existing home sales disappointment, hope was once again high for a bounce in new home sales in August but once again disappointed with a 629k print (up from a revised 608k), but missed expectations of 630k.

While the sales gain was the first in three months, the downward revisions to prior figures indicate that the market in recent months was slower than previously reported, adding to broader indications of cooler demand in residential real estate.

And the trade war continues to take a toll as well. According to Ford’s chief executive, the metals tariffs are going to result in a billion dollars in lost profits for his company…

Ford CEO Jim Hackett told Bloomberg Television on Wednesday that his company faces $1 billion in lost profits from President Donald Trump’s tariffs.

“The metals tariffs took about $1 billion in profit from us – and the irony is we source most of that in the U.S. today anyways,” Hackett said. “If it goes on longer, there will be more damage.”

Perhaps this is one of the main reasons why it looks like Ford could soon be laying off thousands of workers.

The “smart money” is always one step ahead of the “dumb money”, and corporate insiders have a much better view of what is really going on inside their companies than any of the rest of us do.

So if they are collectively convinced that now is a perfect time to sell, that is a major red flag.

On Wall Street, actions speak much louder than words, and corporate insiders are sending a very loud message by selling so many of their own shares.

World War 3: China ‘ready to respond to US provocations’, Donald Trump is warned

A STATE-run Chinese media outlet has suggested the country is ready to “respond to US provocations” in a clear hint the ongoing trade war and tension in the South China Sea have the potential to deteriorate amid World War 3 fears.

Analysts believe the trade dispute between the countries will last until at least the 2020 US presidential election.

In the last week alone has been angered by the imposition of new US tariffs on Chinese imports, as well as a planned arms sale to democratic Taiwan, claimed by Beijing as sacred Chinese territory.

In a Wednesday editorial, the state-run, English-language China Daily said the Taiwan weapons sale would only worsen already poor ties with China.

It read: "Now that the Trump administration is aggressively seeking to challenge China's interests on both the economic and military fronts, one wonders whether Washington wants to permanently damage Sino-US relations.

"And since the Trump administration is trying to jettison all principles that govern bilateral relations in a desperate bid to suit its own purpose, China should not only prepare for the worst but also be ready to appropriately respond to the US' provocations."

China and the United States can compete but should not view each other with a Cold War mentality and should avoid thinking it is a zero-sum game, the Chinese government's top diplomat said, amid deteriorating ties between the superpowers.

Beijing and Washington are locked in an increasingly bitter trade war and are increasingly at odds over other issues, such as US support for self-ruled which China claims, and US sanctions on China's military for buying Russian weapons.

In May, the Chinese military issued a US Navy plane flying 16,500 feet over an island in the South China sea to “leave immediately” a total of six times.

Chinese State Councillor Wang Li

The US Navy crew responding by insisting it was operating beyond the national airspace of any coastal state.

At a meeting with former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger on Tuesday in New York on the sidelines of a United Nations meeting, Chinese State Councillor Wang Yi said that the two countries would only lose if they confronted each other.

Mr Wang said: “China and the United States can have competition, but should not use a Cold War mentality to view each other, and nor should they slip into the trap of a zero-sum game.

"Recently, certain US forces domestically have been continually blackening China's name, creating antagonistic feeling, which has caused serious harm to the atmosphere of Sino-US ties.

South China Sea

If that continued, it would lead relations down a path which would not in the interest of either country or the international community, he said.

China hopes the United States meets it halfway so they can have a "correct perception" of each other, and prevent this negative momentum from spreading to ensure relations don't stray from the correct track, Mr Wang added.

Speaking yesterday, US President Donald Trump's top trade official Robert Lighthizer said changing China's economic policies to become more market-oriented "is not going to be easy" even with tariffs now in place on $250 billion worth of Chinese goods.

Meanwhile , speaking at the United Nations also on Tuesday, criticised China for its trade practices, and offered a thunderous recitation of his "America First" policies.

In Beijing on Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said that he hoped the United States could use the opportunity to listen to what other leaders had had to say at the United Nations on upholding multilateralism and free trade.

He said the United States should "have a think about what role they, as a top country, should play in promoting the resolution of hot button global and regional issues, responding to global threats and challenges and promoting world peace and development”.

Prospects for fresh trade talks between Washington and Beijing collapsed last week.

And analysts believe neither side is in the mood to compromise any time soon.

Flu broke records for deaths, illnesses in 2017-2018, new CDC numbers show

Flu killed and hospitalized more people in the United States last winter than any seasonal influenza in decades, according to new data released Thursday. It’s the most detailed picture of the devastating reach of the respiratory virus, which sickened millions of people as overwhelmed hospitals pitched tents to treat patients.

As a new flu season gets underway, public health officials say last year’s toll underscores the importance of getting a flu vaccine each year. The shot can prevent infections and reduce the severity of complications from the disease.

Influenza killed about 80,000 people in the 2017-2018 season, according to figures released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The previous high for a regular flu season, based onanalyses dating back more than three decades, was 56,000 deaths.

“Last year was just a horrible season,” said Daniel Jernigan, head of the CDC’s influenza division. “It was just a tremendous amount of disease.”

There were record-breaking levels of illness and hospitalization rates. The flu killed 180 children last season. Only the 2009 swine flu pandemic, which killed 358 children, was worse, in the 14 years since health authorities began tracking child deaths from flu .

The CDC recommends that those 6 months and older get a flu vaccine before the end of October. It takes about two weeks for the body to produce a full immune response.

Despite last year’s dreadful season, overall vaccination coverage remained flat; as in previous years, less than half of the U.S. population was vaccinated. But most concerning to officials was a drop in coverage among the youngest children — those under 5 — who are at highest risk for serious flu complications.

Officials and clinicians say they don’t know why more people did not get vaccinated given that last year’s flu season, which started early, dominated news during the winter and into March, and lasted for 19 weeks, making it one of the longest in recent years. They speculate that some people decided that flu vaccines, which are never as effective as most other vaccines even in a good year, aren’t worth the effort.

A new vaccine must be designed every year to best match influenza viruses circulating in the previous season. A preliminary estimate showing last season’s vaccine to be about 36 percent effective overall may have convinced some people not to bother, clinicians said. A final estimate shows the vaccine was about 40 percent effective in reducing a person’s risk of becoming sick enough to need to see a doctor.

But experts say focusing only on that measure misses too many other benefits of the vaccine that are less well-known. Flu’s impact on the body goes well beyond the acute respiratory infection, and a flu shot can prevent or reduce the severity of many complications.

“We’ve got to try to do something about the messaging,” said William Schaffner, medical director of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases and an infectious diseases professor at Vanderbilt University.

The vaccine can reduce flu illness and hospitalizations, protect pregnant women during and after pregnancy and be lifesaving in children, Jernigan said.

For older people with chronic health conditions, getting a flu shot is as effective in preventing a heart attack as quitting smoking, taking cholesterol-lowering drugs or taking blood pressure medications, recent studies show.

For those who are frail, a bout of flu can lead to losing independence in everyday activities, said Janet McElhaney, a Canadian geriatrician and researcher.

“Basically, this is a vaccine that can do other things,” said the CDC’s Jernigan. “We may not have been making as much of a push for that in the past.”

Pediatricians such as Wendy Sue Swanson, at Seattle Children’s Hospital, say that even an imperfect vaccine offers a layer of protection. It was about 67 percent effective against one of the influenza strains last year, meaning that of 100 children lined up in a gym, if all of them got a flu shot, 67 of them wouldn’t get the flu if a sick child coughed on them. “That layer of added protection is important,” she said.

This year is the 100th anniversary of the worst pandemic in human history, the Spanish flu which killed 50 million to 100 million people during the winter of 1918-1919.

It’s virtually impossible to predict the coming flu season. The season in the Southern Hemisphere has been relatively mild, a possible indicator for what to expect in the United States.

The CDC uses mathematical modeling to estimate total flu-related deaths. Because flu seasons vary in length and severity, the estimates have ranged from a low of 12,000 deaths (during 2011-2012) to a previous high of 56,000 (during 2012-2013).

Last season, more than 900,000 people were hospitalized, double the number of many regular seasons.

Among the child deaths reported to CDC last season, about 80 percent were in children who were not vaccinated. More than one-third occurred among children 6 months to 4 years old. Flu vaccination coverage for that group was 67.8 percent, which was lower than the 70 percent reported in the previous season, and about the same as it was five seasons earlier.

Swanson, who heads digital innovation at Seattle Children’s Hospital, created a new skill for Amazon.com’s voice-assistant device, Alexa, called Flu Doctor to answer questions about flu. (Jeffrey P. Bezos, the founder and chief executive of Amazon, owns The Washington Post.)

“I’m just trying to figure out how to build trust,” she said. “In the end, fear tactics aren’t that effective. Parents feel a responsibility to their own child. They’re mostly motivated to keep their kid alive.”

The Arch Of Baal Was Put Up In Washington D.C. One Day Before Brett Kavanaugh Testified To Congress

September 27, 2018

Is it just a coincidence that the “Arch of Baal” has been erected in Washington D.C. on the exact same week that Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford are testifying before Congress? The future of the U.S. Supreme Court is literally hanging in the balance, and many believe that it is quite odd that this ancient pagan symbol has been put up at this precise moment in time. According to
the official website of the Institute for Digital Archaeology, the Arch of Palmyra was unveiled on the National Mall on September 26th, and it will remain there until September 29th. You can view a photograph of the arch standing directly in front of the U.S. Capitol building right here. Just one day after this arch was put up, Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford testified before Congress. Perhaps this is all just a “giant coincidence”, but things of this importance usually don’t happen by accident.

The elite deeply understand that symbols have power, and the fact that the Arch of Baal has been placed directly across from the U.S. Capitol is highly significant.

Jonathan Cahn, the author of The Paradigm, has pointed out that Baal was a god of power, fertility and child sacrifice. In this video, he makes a very strong connection between what was going on during the era of Baal worship and what is taking place in America right now. In the end, the debate over whether or not to confirm Brett Kavanaugh comes down to the issue of abortion, and this vote in the Senate is going to have tremendous implications for the future of our country…

If you are not familiar with the “Arch of Baal”, here is a brief summary from one of my previous articles

A reproduction of the infamous Arch of Palmyra will be on display in Washington D.C. from September 26th to September 30th. In ancient times, if you wanted to go to the Temple of Baal in Palmyra you had to pass through this arch, and you would also pass through this arch again on your way out. The original arch was destroyed by ISIS in 2015, but it has been reproduced, and the reproduction has been periodically displayed at important locations around the globe. It has been pointed out that an arch is a “gateway”, and many are concerned that erecting this arch may be an open invitation for the entity or entities that were originally associated with this arch.

No other ancient deity is mentioned more often than Baal in the Bible. And ultimately, the worship of Baal can be traced back all the way to ancient Babylon, which was the center of the very first “New World Order” in ancient times.

Child sacrifice was absolutely central to the worship of Baal. When it was time for another ceremony, unwanted babies would be gathered and burned alive. The following comes from an article by Matt Barber

Ritualistic Baal worship, in sum, looked a little like this: Adults would gather around the altar of Baal. Infants would then be burned alive as a sacrificial offering to the deity. Amid horrific screams and the stench of charred human flesh, congregants – men and women alike – would engage in bisexual orgies. The ritual of convenience was intended to produce economic prosperity by prompting Baal to bring rain for the fertility of “mother earth.”

The natural consequences of such behavior – pregnancy and childbirth – and the associated financial burdens of “unplanned parenthood” were easily offset. One could either choose to engage in homosexual conduct or – with child sacrifice available on demand – could simply take part in another fertility ceremony to “terminate” the unwanted child.

Modern liberalism deviates little from its ancient predecessor. While its macabre rituals have been sanitized with flowery and euphemistic terms of art, its core tenets and practices remain eerily similar.

Have things changed so much since that time?

We are far more clinical about it, but we still terminate our unwanted children.

In fact, we are killing our babies on an industrial scale.

We have murdered far more children than they ever did in the ancient Middle East, and our fate will be the same as theirs if we don’t turn things around as a society.

And now an ancient symbol of child sacrifice has been erected directly across from the U.S. Capitol at the precise moment when the future of the U.S. Supreme Court is hanging in the balance.

Is this just a coincidence?

I think not.
