US vetoes UN resolution on withdrawing Trump’s Jerusalem decision

Edited time: 18 Dec, 2017 20:28

The US has vetoed the UN Security Council (UNSC) resolution on Jerusalem, which had demanded the American decision recognizing the city as the Israeli capital be withdrawn. All other UNSC members voted in favor of the document.

The US exercised its veto right to “defend its sovereignty” as well as its role in the Middle East, Washington’s envoy to the UN, Nikki Haley, said. She also repeatedly stated that US President Donald Trump’s decision to officially recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital is “fully consistent” and “in line with the previous UN resolutions.”

Other members of the UNSC remained unconvinced by Haley’s speech. The French envoy to the UN said in his speech that the US still “should explain compatibility of its decision [on Jerusalem] with the international consensus.” He also added that France “regrets” the outcome of the vote that has become a symbol of 14 UNSC members’ willingness to “confirm their attachment to international law.”

Any kind of unilateral action concerning Jerusalem “increases the risk of a conflict” in the region and makes direct talks as well as the peace process as a whole more difficult, the Russian Deputy Envoy to UN Vladimir Safronkov said, commenting on the issue. He also drew attention to the fact that the issue of Jerusalem is“the most sensitive issue in the [Israeli-Palestinian peace process] architecture.”

In the meantime, the Palestinian foreign minister announced that Palestine would call for an emergency UN General Assembly meeting following the US veto of the resolution in the UNSC.

Turkey said it was “shocked” by the US veto of the resolution. The move merely showed once again that Washington had “lost objectivity” in its approach toward the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement, adding that it was “unacceptable” that the UNSC has been left “ineffective” with such a move.

The US has been repeatedly warned that its decision would negatively affect the situation in the Middle East. Palestine and the Arab League told Washington that its recognition of Jerusalem as the Israeli capital would destroy the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, while Turkey said that such a move would be a “major catastrophe” and threatened to cut diplomatic ties with Israel if the US still decided to proceed with it.

Even the US allies in Europe urged Washington to be cautious in any action that could affect Jerusalem’s status. EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini warned that any such decision would threaten the “meaningful peace process” and the two-state solution.
However, US President Donald Trump defied all the warnings and officially recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital on December 6, provoking a wave of protests not only throughout the Middle East but in many countries all over the world.

By taking this step, the US not only dramatically escalated the situation around the Israeli-Palestinian conflict but also seems to have jeopardized its own credibility as a peace process mediator. Two days after the US move, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said he would not meet with US Vice President Mike Pence in December, adding that the Palestinian Authority should seek a new mediator in peace talks with Israel.

On the same day, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, also said that the US had voided its status as a mediator in the Middle East peace process. He echoed the words of Abbas, by saying that a better mediator should be found to replace the United States.

The leaders of Islamic countries who gathered for an emergency summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in mid-December also said that Washington’s decision de facto deprived the US of the status of mediator in the Palestinian-Israeli peace process. They then called for East Jerusalem to be recognized as the capital of Palestine in response to the US move.

US Just Officially Blamed North Korea for a Massive Cyberattack

December 19, 2017 at 4:12 pm

(ANTIMEDIA) Washington, D.C. — Claiming there now exists no room for doubt, the White House this week officially blamed North Korea for the WannaCry cyberattack that affected 300,000 computers in more than 150 countries back in May of this year.

“We do not make this allegation lightly,” Donald Trump’s homeland security advisor, Tom Bossert, wrote in an opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal on Monday. “It is based on evidence. We are not alone with our findings, either. Other governments and private companies agree.”

Calling the attack “cowardly,” Bossert asserted that the launch of WannaCry falls in line with a long-standing pattern of behavior on the part of the Kim Jong-un regime:

“North Korea has acted especially badly, largely unchecked, for more than a decade, and its malicious behavior is growing more egregious. WannaCry was indiscriminately reckless.”

Bossert echoed this sentiment at a White House press briefing on Tuesday, linking the WannaCry attack — which North Korea has steadfastly denied orchestrating — to the overall danger the White House purports the small Asian nation represents:

“I think, at this point, North Korea has demonstrated that they want to hold the entire world at risk, whether it be through its nuclear program or cyberattacks.”

WannaCry, which exploited vulnerabilities in older Microsoft operating systems, froze computers and demanded a monetary payout from its victims. While the White House is now certain North Korea was the culprit, some say that even if this is the case, the U.S. itself shares in the blame.

That’s because the code used in WannaCry was stolen from the National Security Agency (NSA) by the hacking group Shadow Brokers, which then made that information public. Kevin Bankston, director of the New America Foundation’s Open Technology Institute, says that in terms of accountability, this fact needs to be inserted into the conversation.

“As we talk about to whom to attribute the WannaCry attack, it’s also important to remember to whom to attribute the source of the tools used in the attack: the NSA,” Bankston told WIRED. “By stockpiling the vulnerability information and exploit components that made WannaCry possible, and then failing to adequately shield that information from theft, the intelligence community made America and the world’s information systems more vulnerable.”

Former NSA hacker and founder of Rendition Infosec, Jake Williams, agrees. Speaking with WIRED, Williams pointed out that in any other type of attack, the U.S. would be looking at suppliers as well as the actual perpetrators:

“If someone blew up a bomb in New York City and the Syrian government had given them the fissile material to make it, we’d be holding them accountable. North Korea couldn’t have done this without us. We enabled the operation by losing control of those tools.”

US DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE RELEASES VIDEO OF A UFO ROTATING IN MID-AIR FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME

ARJUN WALIA

There are a number of pictures and real video footage taken of Unidentified Flying Objects(UFOs). Some of the videos floating around out there have defied the belief of skeptics for years. Even with the official release of hundreds of thousands of documents by dozens of governments and multiple intelligence agencies, it’s still a topic that can change an individuals world paradigm for the rest of their lives, which is why perhaps so many choose to remain in ignorance despite all of the evidence which now surrounds the UFO phenomenon.

This stuff is as real as it gets, here’s a publication in The Journal of Scientific Exploration which shows a picture snapped by Canadian military pilots of a UFO, which was taken back in 1956 at an altitude 36,000 ft (app. 11 km). It was observed hovering around them for 45 seconds before it disappeared.

Multiple documents show that military radar has tracked thousands of UFOs, with military jets sent to intercept hundreds of times. These encounters have one thing in common, objects travelling at tremendous speeds, and performing maneuvers that no known man-made air craft can perform. They often defy our current understanding of physics.

We are living in a time where the UFO topic is more popular than ever, and that could be in large part due to the fact, as Ex-CIA Director Roscoe Hillenkoetter said, “through an official campaign of secrecy and ridicule, many citizens are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense.”

We are just starting to figure our that something has been going on.

Well, it’s understandable that this type of information could be hard to disseminate to the public, without it changing multiple aspects of our lives from science, to technology all the way down to our beliefs about the nature of reality, where we come from, ancient history, and much more.

“”We have, indeed, been contacted — perhaps even visited — by extraterrestrial beings, and the US government, in collusion with the other national powers of the Earth, is determined to keep this information from the general public.”

-Victor Marchetti (Second Look, Volume 1, No 7, Washington, DC, May, 1979)

UFOs and extraterrestrials might not always be related by the way. That’s discussed later in the article.

US Government Footage

For the first time in history, the US Department of Defense has released officially verified footage of a UFO. The video shows an encounter between a Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet and the unknown object. It was released by the DoD’s “Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program,” which was never publicly acknowledged.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the United States has a history of government agencies existing in secret for years. The National Security Agency (NSA) was founded in 1952, its existence was hidden until the mid 1960’s. Even more secretive is the National Reconnaissance Office, which was founded in 1960 but remained completely secret for 30 years.

There are also Special Access Programs, like this one, which, as a 1997 US Senate Report describes, have absolutely no oversight from congress.

This encounter is one of multiples, and they usually involve critical instrument and electronic equipment failure when military pilots reach a close vicinity to the object.

For example, an NSA document from the 70’s describes and encounter.

Both of the F-4 interceptor pilots reported seeing the object visually, it was also tracked on their airborne radar. Both planes experienced critical instrumentation and electronics go offline at a distance of twenty-five miles from the object. Here is an excerpt from the report:

“As the F-4 approached a range of 25 nautical miles it lost all instrumentation and communications. When the F-4 turned away from the object and apparently was no longer a threat to it, the aircraft regained all instrumentation and communications. Another brightly lighted object came out of the original object. The second object headed straight toward the F4. ”

Check out the video below, the pilots reaction to the object can be heard:

“It is (expletive) going on bro”

“There’s a whole fleet of them, look on the S.A.”

“My Gosh”

“They are all going against the wind, the wind is 120 miles to the west.”

“Look at that thing, dude.”

“That’s not a (unclear) is it?”

“Look at that thing!”

“It’s rotating.”

Drone?

If this is a drone, then some sophisticated agency is operating craft that the military doesn’t know about, is this a secret space program craft made by humans? Could be. Again, there are many possible explanations.

The Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program

As an article written in the NY Times points out:

“In the $600 billion annual Defense Department budgets, the $22 million spent on the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program was almost impossible to find.Which was how the Pentagon wanted it.For years, the program investigated reports of unidentified flying objects, according to Defense Department officials, interviews with program participants and records obtained by The New York Times.”

The Defense Department has never before acknowledged the existence of the program, which it says it shut down in 2012. But its backers say that, while the Pentagon ended funding for the effort at that time, the program remains in existence.”

The key word here is threat.

Paul Hellyer, former Canadian defense minister once pointed out that:

“Decades ago, visitors from other planets warned us about where we were headed and offered to help. But instead, we, or at least some of us, interpreted their visits as a threat, and decided to shoot first and ask questions after.”

What also seems to be common with regards to the phenomena is the fact that they constantly perform evasive maneuvers when approached by our air-craft. Stories of retaliation, however, do exist within the lore, where pilots were ordered to attempt to bring the object down, and retaliation followed.

“The reported operating characteristics such as extreme rates of climb, maneuverability (particularly in roll), and action which must be considered evasive when sighted or contacted by friendly aircraft and radar, lend belief to the possibility that some of the objects are controlled either manually, automatically or remotely.” – General Nathan Twinning

Is it in our human nature to perceive and view everything as a threat? These objects have been around, at least verifiably, since the 1950’s. There are many accounts of UFOs in antiquity as well, which point to the idea that this phenomena is much older than we know.

If there was a threat, we probably would have already experienced something scary. That being said, that doesn’t mean there aren’t aspects of this topic that aren’t, what we would call, “negative.”

At this point, who really knows?

Perhaps there are ulterior motives to classify these things as threats? I explore that idea in the article linked below. Is this putting out the truth, but mixed with lies? Is it to debunk the extraterrestrial hypothesis? There is more to this phenomenon that what we are going to be told, that, in my opinion, is safe to assume.

Is A False Flag Alien Invasion In The Works? Wernher Von Brauns Colleague Seems To Think So

Apparently, according to the New York Times article, was funded at the request of Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat who has had a long time interest in space. A lot of the money went to Billionaire Robert Bigelow, founder of one of the biggest Aerospace giants in North America, who is currently working with NASA to produce plane like crafts that humans can use in space.

Bigelow recently express that he knows for a fact that some of these UFOs are actually piloted by extraterrestrial beings. He did so on a recent 60 minutes interview which you can watchhere.

As the NY Times points out:

“Working with Mr. Bigelow’s Las Vegas-based company, the program produced documents that describe sightings of aircraft that seemed to move at very high velocities with no visible signs of propulsion, or that hovered with no apparent means of lift…Officials with the program have also studied videos of encounters between unknown objects and American military aircraft – including one released in August of a whitish oval object, about the size of a commercial plane, chased by two Navy F/A-18 fighter jets.”

Above is a picture of Louis Elizondo, one of multiple individuals who is part of the To The Stars academy (where the footage comes from) along with others, like recently retired Director of Lockheed Skunk Works, Steve Justice who are taking an active role in bringing awareness to the public.

Elizondo is just one of many prestigious individuals to join the academy. A career intelligence officer, his experience includes working in the U.S. Army, the Department of Defense, and the National Counterintelligence Executive, and he spent time as the Director of National Intelligence. He’s also managed the security for several sensitive projects for the U.S. government as the Director for the National Programs Special Management Staff.

For the last 10 years of his career, Elizondo ran the sensitive aerospace threat identification program focusing on unidentified aerial technologies. Where he learned that, as he mentioned, “the phenomenon is indeed real.”

Steve Justice, is one of his colleagues in this endeavour, mentioned that some of these craft can manipulate time and space to travel vast distances. You can read more about that here.

During a Facebook Live feed, Luis Elizondo, the Director of Global & Special Programs for To The Stars, announced that the academy will be releasing official, previously classified data and documentation in collaboration with the U.S. government. And as you an see, this has happened.

When asked if these UFOs are a threat, he told journalist and New York Times best selling author Leslie Keen “they did not exhibit overt hostility.” “But something unexplained is always assumed to be a potential threat until we are certain it isn’t. On the bright side, I believe we are closer than ever before in our understanding of how it operates,” he continued.

We Are Seeing A Speeding Up of Disclosure Within The Mainstream

The fact that everyone involved is a high ranking official from within deep programs of the government might raise suspicions, as it’s no secret that much of the American population does not trust their government to accurately disclose important information,

There are countless examples of government deception and lies. Edward Snowden and Julian Assange, among others, have made this abundantly clear over the past few years. This isn’t to say there aren’t good people within the government, people working for the good of humanity, but the problem is that Western governments have been completely taken over by the Deep State.

The real menace of our Republic is the invisible government, which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy legs over our cities, states and nation. . . . The little coterie of powerful international bankers virtually run the United States government for their own selfish purposes. They practically control both parties … [and] control the majority of the newspapers and magazines in this country. “

– John F. Hylan, Mayor of New York City from 1918-1925 (source)(source)

Could this recent mainstream initiative be a true disclosure movement? Or is Tom Delonge simply being used by the United States government to further some hidden own agenda? Do they want to confirm the reality of UFOs, but debunk the extraterrestrial hypothesis by stating these craft are all manmade? There are many questions to be asked here, and we can only hope things will become clearer as time goes on.

It’s an unfortunate reality that trusting the government has become so difficult. Their tendency to take real events and spin them to push certain agendas is well documented, and makes it difficult to know what’s really going on in the world. That’s why doing your own independent research on this topic, or any other, for that matter, is so important.

Will We Ever Get The Full Truth?

The world of secrecy is extremely compartmentalized, and when it comes to this topic, we are getting into technology, a new understanding about the nature of reality, and possibly, details about different extraterrestrial groups and what they are doing here.

We are still a long ways from these details, and it’s understandable why, if it’s the case, that some within the world of secrecy want this information to come out slowly.

This topic goes far beyond mere UFOs.

Are They Extraterrestrial?

I explore this question and the evidence for it in an article I wrote not long ago. You can read more about that below:

It’s Official, We Now Know That “UFOs” or “UAP” Are Real – So Are They Extraterrestrial or Not?

I’ll leave you with this video, I’ve used it many times so if you’ve seen it I apologize. There are always new readers coming to the site.

It’s a clip taken from the Thrive documentary.

Former Navy pilot describes UFO encounter studied by secret Pentagon program

The Pentagon had a secret program to study UFOs, according to disclosures this week. (Getty Images)

For most of his 18-year career as a U.S. Navy pilot, Cmdr. David Fravor said his mother-in-law used to ask him a question: Had he seen a UFO? For 15 years, the answer was no.

But one clear afternoon off the coast of California in 2004, he says, that changed.

Fravor, the commanding officer of a Navy squadron at the time, said he saw a flying object about the size of his plane that looked like a Tic Tac after a break in a routine training mission. The object moved rapidly and unlike any other thing he had ever seen in the air. He has not forgotten it since.

Fravor’s story emerged this week after the Pentagon publicly acknowledged for the first time the existence of a recent program dedicated to studying unidentified flying objects. The funding for what was known as the Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program ran from 2007 to 2012. But officials familiar with it said some of its efforts have continued.

The news of its existence marks one of the most significant disclosures about government research into flying objects — and the so-far-unproven possibility of extraterrestrial aircraft — since Project Blue Book, a lengthy Air Force study of thousands of UFOs that was shut down in 1969. Project Blue Book failed to find “any technological developments or principles beyond the range of present-day scientific knowledge,” and no evidence of any “extraterrestrial vehicles,” according to the Air Force, though a small portion of the events it studied remain unexplained.

The encounter Fravor described was analyzed by the recent Defense Department program, he said, but its most significant questions — the nature of the object and what it was doing — have also remained unanswered.

Fravor says he is certain about one thing: “It was a real object, it exists and I saw it,” he said in a phone interview on Monday, as he described the sighting, on Nov. 14, 2004.

Asked what he believes it was, 13 years later, he was unequivocal.

“Something not from the Earth,” he said.

Fravor was the commanding officer of the VFA-41 Black Aces, a U.S. Navy strike fighter squadron of F/A-18 Hornet fighter planes doing an exercise some 60 to 100 miles off the coast between San Diego and Ensenada, Mexico, in advance of a deployment to the Persian Gulf for the Iraq War, he said.

Former Navy pilot David Fravor (right) with his cousin, Chad Albert. (Courtesy of David Fravor)

An order came in for him to suspend the exercise and do some “real-world tasking,” about 60 miles west of their location, Fravor said. He said he was told by the command that there were some unidentified flying objects descending from 80,000 feet to 20,000 feet and disappearing; he said officials told him they had been tracking a couple dozen of these objects for a few weeks.

When they arrived closer to the point, they saw the object, flying around a patch of white water in the ocean below.

“A white Tic Tac, about the same size as a Hornet, 40 feet long with no wings,” Fravor described. “Just hanging close to the water.”

The object created no rotor wash — the visible air turbulence left by the blades of a helicopter — he said, and began to mirror the pilots as they pursued it, before it vanished.

“As I get closer, as my nose is starting to pull back up, it accelerates and it’s gone,” he said. “Faster than I’d ever seen anything in my life. We turn around, say let’s go see what’s in the water and there’s nothing. Just blue water.”

Fravor’s plane headed back to USS Nimitz aircraft carrier, but a separate crew that had taken off toward the object began to search for it, tracking it for about a minute and a half and shooting a video, Fravor said.

Footage from 2004 shows an encounter between a U.S. fighter jet and "anomalous aerial vehicles," which is military jargon for UFOs.

But Navy superiors didn’t seem that interested in the event, so those like Fravor who had seen it, took a ribbing and got Men In Black jokes from their colleagues, and didn’t talk about it much afterward, Fravor said.

Fravor, who retired from the Navy in 2006, later shared the story with his wife and children, and some others who’d ask. But nothing really came of it until 2009 when a government official he declined to name contacted him while doing “an unofficial investigation.” Fravor declined to give more details about the official, but said he was later contacted by Luis Elizondo, an intelligence officer who ran the secretive program at the Department of Defense that was just disclosed.

Elizondo, who has since left the government to work for a private company that is hoping to promote UFO research for both scientific and entertainment purposes, is a large part of why the story about UFOs and the government’s program are in the news; he quietly arranged to secure the release of three videos of UFOs from the Pentagon, including the one shot the same day and place as Fravor’s.

Fravor, who has been talking about his experience to the To the Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences, the company where Elizondo is a consultant, said he knows that sharing his story has opened him up to ridicule — most but not all of it good-natured — but believes the incident should be more closely studied.

“I don’t think I was a nut-job as an officer in the Navy. I wasn’t drunk, I don’t do drugs. I got a good night’s rest, it was a clear day,” he said. “I think someone should have looked into it. Having talked to some of the other folks, it’s a big frustration that it’s coming out now and wasn’t discussed back in 2004.”

Fravor believes that there could be some benefits from studying his experience.

“This is revolutionary technology to be able to accelerate, go up and down. Think about the advances that would bring to mankind,” he said. “What if it actually starts to get people to think outside the box.”

He said he’s been inundated with phone calls since his story was first told on Saturday. Still, the Men In Black jokes continue.

“There is no mercy in my family or my friends,” he said.

Joby Warrick contributed to this report.

Stuff that matters

BUT WHO'S COUNTING?

Puerto Rico’s governor called for a recount of Hurricane Maria deaths.

In a statement on Monday, Governor Ricardo Rosselló ordered the Puerto Rico Demographic Registry and the Department of Public Safety to review the official death toll of the hurricane.

Although the official number stands at 64, the New York Times reported that the real death toll is likely closer to 1,052. Its analysis compared the number of deaths after the storm to the average number of deaths for the same period in 2016 and 2015.

This gap stems from the government’s failure to release standardized criteria for what would count as a hurricane-related death immediately following the storm. Funeral homes and crematoriums did not include several related deaths in the official count, a Buzzfeed investigation found. Some of these deaths resulted from a lack of medical care, like power outages shutting off breathing machines for hospital patients.

When President Trump visited Puerto Rico in October, he lauded the low death toll, implying that the situation wasn’t “a real catastrophe” like Hurricane Katrina, when 1,833 people died.

“This is about more than numbers, these are lives: real people, leaving behind loved ones and families,” Rosselló said in a statement. “The Government needs to work with sensibility and certainty in the process of certifying a death related to the hurricane.”
