Israeli cabinet approves first West Bank settlement in 20 years

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel's security cabinet on Thursday approved the building of the first new settlement in the occupied West Bank in two decades, even as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu negotiates with Washington on a possible curb on settlement activity.

The unanimous vote in favor of construction of the new settlement in an area called Emek Shilo came after Netanyahu earlier told reporters: "I made a promise that we would establish a new settlement ... We will keep it today."

The result of the vote was announced in a government statement.

Palestinian officials swiftly condemned the move.

"Today's announcement once again proves that Israel is more committed to appeasing its illegal settler population than to abiding by the requirements for stability and a just peace," said Hanan Ashrawi, an executive committee member of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

There was no immediate reaction from U.S. President Donald Trump's administration, which is in discussions with Israel on limiting the construction of settlements on land Palestinians seek for a state.

Such settlements, in territory that Israel captured in the 1967 Middle East war, are deemed illegal by most of the world. Israel cites biblical, historical and political links to the land, as well as security interests, to defend its actions.

Netanyahu first promised the new settlement at Emek Shilo in February, shortly before dozens of Israeli families were evicted from another West Bank settlement called Amona. Their houses were razed after Israel's Supreme Court said they were built illegally on privately owned Palestinian land.

Establishing a new settlement may be a way for Netanyahu to appease far-right members of his coalition government who are likely to object to any concessions to U.S. demands for restraints on building.

Israeli political sources, however, said the new construction would actually take place within the boundaries of an existing settlement. The new community would then be declared its own settlement, a nuance that might be enough to stave off possible U.S. opposition to the move.

Trump, who had been widely seen in Israel as sympathetic toward settlements, appeared to surprise Netanyahu during a White House visit last month when he urged him to "hold back on settlements for a little bit".

The two then agreed that their aides would try to work out a compromise on how much Israel can build and where.

Trump's Middle East envoy, Jason Greenblatt, this week wrapped up a second trip to the region aimed at reviving Middle East peace talks that collapsed in 2014.

A new settlement would be the first built in the West Bank since 1999. About 400,000 Israeli settlers live in the West Bank which is also home to 2.8 million Palestinians. Another 200,000 Israelis live in East Jerusalem.

Palestinians want the West Bank and East Jerusalem for their own state, along with the Gaza Strip.

Muslim Man Enters Goodwill, Chokes Elderly Woman Employee…Because She Wouldn’t Say It

Posted by | Mar 30, 2017 |

A radical Islamist recently attacked a lady at a Goodwill for not “saying it” and converting.

All of the nations that find themselves on Trump’s now-famous travel ban list are nation’s that, among other sinister things, routinely beat people (or worse) for refusing to convert to Islam. This is true even though Islam is a religion that has precepts that have no real bearing in reality or reason, such as the more historical religions of the world. This is why Egypt once worshipped Ra, the Sun God, and today face having images of Ra shattered for the crime of Islamic blasphemy. The truth is that every nation that is today Islamic are only in that condition due to having been conquered by the sword and beaten into the practice. No one chooses this burden on a national level for any other reason; it has never happened.

These beatings are occurring now in America as the case of Khaliad Bilal shows us. Bilal was arrested the past weekend at a Goodwill in Muncie on “preliminary counts of strangulation, battery, battery on law enforcement, intimidation, resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct,” according to court documents. The reason for the attack? It seems that the elderly clerk who worked at the Goodwill had her life threatened by Bilal as he tried in vain to convert the lady to Islam. She just would not “say it” and join Islam, that is all. It is even reported that the savage attack from the man broke an officer’s hand as he tried to intervene.

Many agree with Dr. Gomaa, (pictured) and some of those that do are in America.

The Ball State Daily is reporting that an officer made his entrance into the store only to find Bilal yelling and screaming at those who worked in there. The cop is said to have confronted the man and as things became more unstable, the officer was forced to employ his taser. At that point, a second officer showed up at the now chaotic scene and attempted to subdue the crazed Islamist. The broken hand resulted when the suspect attacked the officers and bedlam broke out. For this action, Bilal was tazed a second time, an action which proved effective enough to allow his hands and feet to be handcuffed before he could harm anyone else whilst preaching the religion of peace to them.

As the melee was happening, the mad Muslim kept telling the officers that they “were going to hell” and he kept shouting, “Allahu Akbar.” This term can be thought of in two ways. To compare, when an Islamist says, “Allahu Akbar” upon hearing that a loved one has conquered a case of the flu, then it is a blessing, much like a Christian may say, “God bless you” post-sneeze. However, if it is being said by a madman in a Goodwill as he tries to choke elderly female staff members, then he is certainly meaning it in the ISIS “going to cut your head off” kind of way. We see this disparity in America between honest God loving Christians who reach out to others and those that repel and threaten them, like the members of the Westboro Baptist Church. The difference is, while vile, the WBC isn’t hurting anyone and there are not millions of them.

sdafasdf

As the teachings of radical Islam spread, what is to become of Western society and progress?

Some of this may be chalked up to mental illness since Bilal claimed to be “Muhammad, the prophet of Islam.” If this is true then he is no different than the man muttering to himself that he is Jesus Christ as he roams the floor of the insane asylum. Then again, how often is this the case? Radical Islam chooses to find such people ON PURPOSE in order to get them to do their bidding. It is not that people like Bilal are Islamic, but rather, that radical sharia Islam are CHOOSING people of such low mental states to BE radicalized. They know no better, in many instances. The underwear bomber is said to have the IQ of a pencil, for instance. For this reason, the fact that Bilal may be mentally challenged is cause for alarm and not just to be written off as a madman who happened to be a Muslim.

After preaching his message of goodwill, Bilal was taken to Ball Memorial Hospital where his injuries were assessed. In an act of Houdini-like skill, the angry Muslim managed to escape his restraints, something that is not an easy feat to accomplish. This he did, however, and managed to attack another officer who he punched three times in the face, sending his glasses flying. While searching for a “pressure point,” the officer is said to have “accidentally” punched Bilal in the mouth, an error that no one likely wept over. Bond for the deranged Bilal is set at $10,000.

asdfasdf

Even with such savage images as these, the world in large part refuses to see the evil that mankind is up against.

Whether this man belongs in a prison cell or a mental hospital is of no concern to the bigger picture here. The truth is that this man did not find Islam, as much as Islam likely found him. ISIS and groups like them have made videos and published many writings about how such tactics were in use even as we read these words. Just as they have kept their tempestuous promise to blend in with the refugees fleeing their terror in Syria, so they are keeping their promise to vacuum up those of low mental awareness for evil acts. That is why sharia law has an ever growing foothold in prisons and jails all over the nation. They package it as a way to “get back” at society or the justice system and soon they are converted and attacking Goodwill clerks.

That is not to say that this exact scenario is the case with the manic acting Bilal, but one would not be too shocked to find that it were close to the mark. There is a reason that most people do not flock to a religion that beats women, kills gays and brings a state of drab misery wherever it takes root. Sharia Islam can even be thought of as a totally different religion from standard Islam in some regards, but the trouble is that it is impossible to tell one from another. This is seen in cults that will often steal the language of a religion but heap radically different meanings upon the terms. Just like any such cult, sharia Islam proves that it is no different and that it is not above employing such means of conversion. For them, it is jihad and conversion at ANY cost.

asdfasdfsdf

Stories like these may not just be something found in the Middle East if sharia Islam is allowed to infect the West.

This woman’s Facebook quip just cost her $500K

Your mom might’ve taught you to watch your mouth, but these days, watching your fingers is almost more important.

A North Carolina woman has learned this lesson the hard way after paying a $500,000 settlement in a libel lawsuit. Jacquelyn Hammond reportedly posted a simple sentence—“I didn’t get drunk and kill my kid”—on Facebook, which on its face wouldn’t be a problem. But according to the complaint, which you can read in full
here, the inflammatory post was referring to a former co-worker whose son died in a gun accident with another boy in 1976.

Because the woman wasn’t responsible for her son’s death, nor was she drunk at the time of the accident, she filed a lawsuit over the defamatory statement in 2015; last month, the plaintiff and defendant ultimately settled, with the defendant paying $250,000 in actual damages for the defamation and emotional distress and an additional $250,000 in punitive damages.

If you want a quick guide to the law at issue here: Defamation encompasses both libel, which is written, and slander, which is spoken. To prove a case of defamation, the statement in question must be published, must be false, must be harmful to your reputation, and must have been made by some act of negligence. There are some exceptions and defenses involving public figures, but the long and the short of it is this: Words matter. Use yours carefully.

Michael Flynn in talks with Congress, wary of prosecution

CHAD DAY, EILEEN SULLIVAN and JULIE PACE
Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn is in discussions with the House and Senate intelligence committees on receiving immunity from "unfair prosecution" in exchange for agreeing to be questioned as part of ongoing probes into possible contacts between Donald Trump's presidential campaign and Russia, his attorney said Thursday.

"General Flynn certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it, should the circumstances permit," said Flynn's attorney, Robert Kelner.

Kelner said no "reasonable person" with legal counsel would answer questions without assurances that he would not be prosecuted, given calls from some members of Congress that the retired lieutenant general should face criminal charges.

Flynn's ties to Russia have been scrutinized by the FBI and are under investigation by the House and Senate intelligence committees. Both committees are looking into Russia's meddling in the 2016 presidential election and any ties between Trump associates and the Kremlin.

Since July, the FBI has been conducting a counterintelligence investigation into Russia's interference in the election and possible coordination with Trump associates.

Kelner released a statement after The Wall Street Journal first reported that Flynn's negotiations with the committee included discussions of immunity. The lawyer described the talks as ongoing and said he would not comment on the details.

A congressional aide confirmed that discussions with the Senate intelligence committee involved immunity. The aide spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private conversations.

House intelligence committee spokesman Jack Langer said Flynn has not offered to testify to the committee in exchange for immunity.

Four other Trump associates have come forward in recent weeks, saying they would talk to the committees. As of Wednesday, the Senate intelligence committee had asked to interview 20 people as part of the probe.

In his statement, Kelner said the political climate in which Flynn is facing "claims of treason and vicious innuendo" is factoring into his negotiations with the committees.

"No reasonable person, who has the benefit of advice from counsel, would submit to questioning in such a highly politicized, witch hunt environment without assurances against unfair prosecution," Kelner said.

In September, Flynn weighed in on the implications of immunity on NBC's "Meet the Press," criticizing Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her associates in the FBI's investigation into her use of a private email server.

"When you are given immunity, that means that you have probably committed a crime," Flynn said during the interview.

Flynn was fired from his job as Trump's first national security adviser after it was disclosed that he misled the vice president about a conversation he had with the Russian ambassador to the U.S. during the transition.

In the weeks after he resigned, Flynn and his business registered with the Justice Department as foreign agents for $530,000 worth of lobbying work that could have benefited the Turkish government.

The lobbying occurred while Flynn was a top Trump campaign adviser. The Turkish businessman who hired Flynn, Ekim Alptekin, has told the AP that Flynn's firm registered under pressure from the Justice Department.

Pentagon Has Video Proving Mosul Buildings Were Full of Civilians

(ANTIWAR) Facing growing criticism over an attack earlier this month that killed hundreds of civilians in Mosul, the Pentagon today confirmed that it has video footage of ISIS forcing hundreds of civilians into the destroyed buildings, which they presented as “provoking the attack.”

While this is designed to shift some of the blame away from the Pentagon for bombing buildings full of civilians, it appears to actually do the exact opposite: it confirms that the Pentagon knew before the attacks that those buildings were full of civilians, and attacked them anyhow.

ISIS has long been criticized for pushing civilians around and forcing them into various areas, but the fact that civilians were being forced into buildings does not prove that the buildings were of any specific value as a target in the first place, and the Pentagon’s assertion appears to be that putting civilians in there amounted to making the buildings a more tempting target in and of itself.

The huge civilian death toll of the US strikes has been condemned by several human rights groups, unsurprisingly, but the Pentagon’s narrative has rapidly changed from denial, to sheepish admission of “probable” guilt, and now to outright defiance over the fact that they killed so many people.
