‘Tell them to go back where they belong’: J.C. Penney customer’s racist tirade caught on video

A video of a woman yelling racial slurs at a Hispanic woman while standing in line at a store in Louisville has gone viral. (Facebook/Renee Buckner)

The cellphone video shows a woman waiting for a cashier at a J.C. Penney store, shouting racist and discriminatory remarks at another customer who had apparently cut the line.

In that moment, which was captured on camera at a store at Jefferson Mall in Louisville, the belligerent woman screamed at the accused line-cutter, who is apparently Hispanic, to “go back to wherever the f— you come from, lady.”

“Hey, tell them to go back where they belong,” she then told the cashier. “If they come here to live, then act like everybody else. Get in the back of the line like everybody else does — and be somebody. And that’s the way I look at it.”

J.C. Penney and mall administrators said they are working to identify the woman seen screaming in the video, as well as the two women who were on the receiving end of her rant.

“You’re . . . nobodies,” the woman told them. “Just because you come from another country, that don’t make you nobody. You’re nobody, as far as I’m concerned. Probably on welfare. The taxpayers probably paid for all that stuff.”

As the video went viral, Jefferson Mall administrators said in a statement that once the combative customer has been identified “she will be permanently banned from Jefferson Mall, per our Behavioral Code of Conduct.”

And J.C. Penney said in a statement that company officials were “deeply disturbed” by what they had seen in the clip that was recorded by a bystander and uploaded to Facebook.

“We regret that innocent bystanders — both other customers and a JCPenney associate — were subjected to such discriminatory remarks,” a company spokesman said in a statement to The Washington Post. “We absolutely do not tolerate this behavior in our stores, and are working with our associates to ensure any future incidents of this nature will be addressed quickly and appropriately.”

J.C. Penney is also “asking for the community’s help in identifying the two women who were targeted for such remarks, as we would like to reimburse them for their entire purchase and offer a sincere apology for their experience.”

The video was posted Tuesday by Facebook user Renee Buckner, who said she made the video public “to expose this racism in America/Louisville.”

It was viewed more than 5 million times before Buckner apparently deleted the video Wednesday afternoon, along with her Facebook account.

Buckner did not respond to a request for comment Wednesday. But according to her since-deleted account of the incident, “this Hispanic lady was purchasing items and the transaction was almost complete, then her friend brings up some shirts to be added to her purchase instead of getting in line. And this lady went off!!!”

She had warned that the video contained explicit language and added: “FYI…this wasn’t the entire scene, people tried to let her know it was out of order, but she wasn’t hearing that.”

The video started after the customer who became the target of the tirade apparently moved to the front of the line to join her friend — enraging the woman she cut off, who began shouting that the line “starts back there.”

“And it don’t bother me if I say it, and I don’t care if everybody hears me,” the woman started to shout. “I think everybody here probably feels the same damn way I do.”

She went on, yelling profanities at the woman — prompting a cashier to admonish her, saying: “Watch your language.”

She continued, addressing the cashier, and then the crowd, insinuating that the two women she was yelling at were probably on welfare and that taxpayers were probably picking up the tab.

“We probably paid for every bit of that stuff — you know that?” she said. “Probably all the food they get and everything else. I’m sorry, but that’s the way I feel.”

One of the women she was yelling at then nodded.

“That’s okay, speak English,” the ranter shouted in response. “You’re in America. If you don’t know it, learn it. And I’m sorry that I’m that way, but you all need to realize you’re not the only ones around here.”

Buckner was shopping Tuesday evening when she stumbled upon the scene, a pastor who said he is speaking for Buckner told the Courier-Journal.

The Rev. Timothy Findley, with the Kingdom Fellowship Christian Life Center in Louisville, said Buckner posted the footage on Facebook and was immediately overwhelmed by the response.

“We all shared the same reaction: shock, disappointment, but not surprised,” Findley told the newspaper.

In her Facebook post, Buckner said that if people ignore racism, “it will never go away.”

“It’s sad that we are still being subjected to racism in this country,” she wrote in a subsequent (and since-deleted) post. “But what is even more sad is the fact that so many people don’t know Christ. We wouldn’t have so much hate, if more people had a relationship with Christ.”

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer said Wednesday on Twitter that he was “sad and disappointed” by what had occurred.

“This is not who we are, and on behalf of our community, I apologize to the two women who were treated in such a horrible way,” he wrote. “I hope this video prompts many discussions among families as they gather for the holidays this week. Discussions about basic human values, dignity and respect.”

“As a country of immigrants, we must understand we only move forward through peace, acceptance and embracing those who are different from us,” Fischer continued. “These are basic American values protected in our Constitution, values embraced in this welcoming, compassionate community.”

Jefferson County Attorney Mike O’Connell told the Courier-Journal that he the incident “could rise to the level of criminal conduct” if the two victims of the racist rant decide to take legal action.

East Aleppo Diaries: Testimony from Hanano Shatters Corporate Fake News

© Vanessa Beeley
Clean water supplies are replenished in recently liberated East Aleppo district of Hanano.
"Before it was hell, now we can move forward and breathe again" ~ Mohammed, from Hanano

On the 11th December 2016 I visited Hanano in East Aleppo. Hanano had been liberated days previously by the Syrian Arab Army and allies including Hezbollah and Russia. Hanano had been under a Nusra Front [Al Qaeda] terrorist regime for the last, almost, five years.

The testimonies we filmed testified to starvation, wholesale deprivation of humanitarian aid, summary executions, torture and the use of civilians as human shields. Nusra Front were the overlord of the district, controlling an estimated 22 militant brigades funded, equipped and armed by NATO and Gulf states and condemning the Syrian civilians to a life of fear and imprisonment in their own homes.

Women were married, raped and discarded en masse, children were imprisoned and anyone caught supporting the Syrian Government could be executed or imprisoned & tortured. The very antithesis of the narrative being run by the corporate media for the entire duration of the almost five years of wholesale suffering endured by both West and East Aleppo, carved into two and targeted by the Nusra Front-led terrorists and militants.

Militants like the US-funded, Nour Al Din Zinkiwho beheaded 12 year old Palestinian child, Abdullah Issa or US "moderates", Ahrar Al Sham, who have carried out a number of vicious ethnic cleansing campaigns in and around Aleppo.

This video contains two of those testimonies, exposing the lie peddling, by corporate media, that has been allowed to permeate public opinion and narrowly failed to precipitate the devastating No Fly Zone that would have, undeniably, led to further bloodshed on an unimaginable scale.

At the end of filming two boys sat down in front of the camera and spontaneously chanted "Allah, Souria, ou Bashar bas". "God, Syira, Bashar is enough".

Bearing Witness to the Liberation of Hanano, East Aleppo, a Personal View
"In all ways, exposing truth is much like mass therapy, where we encourage people to step out of their fragmented perceptions of events, their colonized mental constructs and complexes, to relinquish the blinders, the ego and arrogance, so we can be enlightened together, and together, rendered wiser and stronger.

Dynamic revolutionary movements are in a continual process of evolutionary change which is to be embraced if our movements are to survive and be authentic. If we are afraid of introspection and critique, we invite our own downfall. I admire most the people and movements that not only undergo this process privately, but who share their realizations with the public. By this act, we are made richer, provided we have the wisdom to accept these collective teachings." ~ Alexandra Valiente

A child in recently liberated Hanano, East Aleppo.
This video is in honour of all those who have suffered in East Aleppo under the Nusra Front regime funded by the NATO and Gulf states and imposed upon Syria and its people in order to bring about "regime change" and to achieve the US alliance geopolitical aims in the region and to strengthen Israel in the Middle East.

I hope it goes some way towards conveying the incredible suffering that these people endured and the joy they expressed when, at last, they were free from four years of brutal sectarianism, torture, abuse and starvation, not at the hands of the Syrian government, as described by the baying corporate media in the West, but at the hands of the terrorist and militant factions injected into East Aleppo by the very governments who were screaming "humanitarian crisis".

Children, prematurely aged, whose childhood has been ravaged and stolen from them by our vulture regimes in the west via their proxy "child catchers" and exploiters.

They were using images of tiny Omran Daqneesh to cynically manipulate emotions in the west and to nudge public perception towards their goal of a No Fly Zone to ensure the deaths of yet more children.

Meanwhile, the children of East Aleppo continued to suffer and be traumatised as their siblings, their fathers, their mothers, their world was raped, beheaded, shot, mined, sniped, detonated, exploded in front of them.

Who will heal these children? Who will give them back their childhood, their innocence? Who will say sorry for the blood in the streets and the dust in their souls.

I am not writing this as a journalist but as a human being. To witness the level of depravity and extremism unleashed by the creatures who govern us and to see children - emaciated, angry, bruised and wounded children glaring at the world through a filter of pain, it is hard to be anything else.

For Aleppo and for Syria with all my love and my hope that one day the Syrian people will forgive all of us for what has been done to them.

Five malnourished kids found living in car at Walmart with healthy parents, police say

The parents of a Florida woman found living in a car with her five children and their father told WPTV "she took care of" and loved her children, but they are not sure how the family got to this point. (WPTV)

The deputy said he was on a routine patrol in Greenacres, Fla., Saturday morning when he spotted the blue Toyota in a Walmart parking lot. It wasn’t the look of the vehicle that caught his attention but the smell emanating from it — an odor “similar to that of homeless camps,” he said.

Inside was a family of seven. The parents seemed healthy, police said, but their five children, ranging in age from 4 to 14, were filthy, fatigued and so malnourished that their bones were protruding from under their skin, according to WPTV. The oldest reportedly weighed a mere 50 pounds, just 5 pounds more than his 8-year-old sibling.

The parents, Donell Barron and Rikki Hart, both 34, were arrested Saturday on charges of child neglect, according to WPTV. As of Wednesday evening, they were being held in the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail, the Palm Beach Post reported. It was not clear Wednesday if they had hired defense attorneys.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office told local media that the children, all of whom were described as “underweight,” were taken to a hospital, where at least one of them was treated for unusually high blood pressure. The five kids are now in custody of the Florida Department of Children and Families, the Palm Beach Post reported.

Police said they took some of the children out to eat at McDonald’s, where they “ravenously ate the meals, as if they had not been fed in quite some time.”

When interviewed by the sheriff’s office, Barron gave a grim account of how the family wound up living out of their car.

According to the Palm Beach Post, Barron told police that they had been evicted from their home in Port St. Lucie about a year ago and had spent about 10 months hopping from one hotel to another before they ran out of money. They had lived in the car for the past two months, he told police, during which time they bathed in park bathrooms and urinated in a bucket they carried in the vehicle. Deputies reported that the children ate about once a day, their meals consisting mostly of salad and bread, and hadn’t seen a doctor in years, according to the Palm Beach Post. None of the children were enrolled in school, and instead were home-schooled inside the car, Barron told police.

At times, Barron gave contradictory statements to deputies. First, he told them that he attended “three years of law school and practices law, but not as a lawyer,” according to a police report reviewed by WPTV. Later, he said he lost his money trading stocks and had never attended law school. He described himself as a Native American with a “corporate name” and said he was “not the property of the U.S. or any corporation,” the Palm Beach Post reported.

Police told local media that Barron and Hart appeared to be clean and in good health at the time of their arrest.

Richard Hart and Robin Johnson, identified by WPTV as Hart’s parents and the grandparents of the five children, told the station they had fallen out of touch with their daughter and didn’t know how the family ended up in such a state. They said she was once a homecoming queen and attended college on an academic scholarship.

“Here I am sleeping in a comfortable bed and my babies had to be sleeping in a car all crammed up like that,” Richard Hart said. “She was a very loving parent. She was a very doting parent. She took care of her children. How we get to this point, that’s a question we can’t answer.”

The Palm Beach Post reported that the couple ran a blog called “Holistically Beautiful” that they launched in 2014. The blog’s “about” page says Donell and Rikki Barron created the site “to show the benefits of living a healthier lifestyle and discuss topics which can enrich one’s life.”

“They believe in the importance of living a balanced life and the importance of constantly improving oneself,” it says.

A call to the number listed on the site went to a disconnected line and an email to the blog wasn’t immediately returned.

The French political scientist nominated Putin for the Nobel Peace Prize - The only person who is fighting against terrorism for real

Vladimir Putin
Head of French Center for Political and International Relations (CFPA) Fabien Baussart said Tuesday that he had officially nominated Russian President Vladimir Putin for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Baussart said that Putin was the only person who is fighting against terrorism for real and, thus, deserving the prize.

"As the CFPA head, I officially proposed the candidacy by sending a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee saying that, in my opinion, President Vladimir Putin could get the Nobel Peace Prize as a reward for his peacemaking efforts,"Baussart told RIA Novosti.

The political scientist expressed hope that his counterparts would support this nomination.

Baussart also noted that US President Barack Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize while the US troops were still in Iraq. According to Baussart, airstrikes on the militant positions in Syria, thus, should not prevent awarding the prize to Putin, who is promoting various peace initiatives.

The Nobel Peace Prizes was first awarded in 1901. In 2016, the prize was awarded to President of Colombia Juan Manuel Santos for putting an end to a 50-year-long civil war in his country.

Christmas terrorist plot foiled in Australia, ISIS-inspired suspects arrested

Edited time: 23 Dec, 2016 04:48

Melbourne, Australia © David Gray / Reuters / Reuters

Australian authorities have foiled a “very substantial terrorist plot”, arresting a number of suspects who allegedly plotted a “multi-mode attack” involving guns and improvised explosives in central Melbourne over the Christmas holidays.

Seven people were detained following overnight raids by Victoria Police, the Australian Federal Police and Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) on Friday. Five people are still in custody and are answering questions about the alleged terrorist plot.

“Overnight our police and security agencies have disrupted a very substantial terrorist plot,”
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said at a press conference.

Police believe that Islamic State/(IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL)-inspired terrorists wanted to use explosives and other weapons on Christmas Day to target locations in the city, including St Paul's Cathedral, Federation Square and Flinders Street Station.

“What they have uncovered is a plot to explode improvised explosive devices in central Melbourne in the area of Federation Square, on or about Christmas Day,”
Turnbull noted.

The suspects planned to attack public sites with weapons and explosives, Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton Commissioner told journalists, adding that that four of the people arrested were Australian-born and aged in their 20s.

“The age groups range between 20 and 24 or 25. There is another suspect in this matter who will be charged that was an Egyptian-born Australian citizen. All the others were Australian-born,” he said.

“We believe [they are] self-radicalized. They are inspired by ISIS and ISIS propaganda,” Ashton added, saying there was no suggestion of international assistance to suspected terrorists.

The Chief Commissioner said that those detained wanted to use a“multi-mode attack” that would involve an explosion and the use of assault weapons.

“We believe it was certainly going to involve an explosive event ... we gathered the makings of an improvised explosive device,” Ashton said. “A substantial number of people could have been injured in the attack, from what we've seen.”

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, who called the plot an “act of evil” promised to increase the police presence at public places in Victoria over the Christmas period.

According to Turnbull, Australian authorities have managed to thwart 12 major plots since September 2014, when the terror threat level was raised. Following 25 counterterrorism operations, some 57 people now face terrorism-related charges.
