WND EXCLUSIVE

WHY HILLARY NEEDED A PRIVATE EMAIL SERVER

Author of new book says setup concealed Clinton 'pay to play scheme'

Published: 18 hours ago

A House panel grilled FBI Director James Comey on his decision not to recommend criminal charges against Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server while secretary of state, but the congressmen never truly got to the bottom of Clinton’s email scandal, according to the author of an explosive new book on the Clintons.

New York Times bestselling author Jerome Corsi says the key question is this: Why did Secretary Clinton feel it was necessary to have her own private email server, off-line from the State Department’s secure email server?

The answer, he says, is provided in his new book, “Partners in Crime: The Clintons’ Scheme to Monetize the White House for Personal Profit.”

“The crime partnership of Bill and Hillary Clinton had the perfect set-up with Bill heading the Clinton Foundation and Hillary appointed secretary of state,” said Corsi, a WND senior staff writer. “The opportunity for the Clintons to enrich themselves was never greater with Bill positioned to solicit donations from those desiring favorable State Department policy decisions from Hillary.”

But this scam would not work if Hillary’s State Department emails were available to be archived on the State Department system, thus subject to FOIA requests. According to Corsi, the scam required emails passing classified information to top officials in the Clinton Foundation as well as Teneo, a corporate advisory firm established by Clinton ally Doug Band.

“With advance knowledge of U.S. foreign policy initiatives – including meetings being scheduled with foreign heads of state – the Clinton Foundation and Teneo could work overtime to make sure foreign operatives seeking favors knew where to send checks in their ‘pay to play’ scheme,” Corsi explained.

“By keeping all her emails on a private server, Hillary and her trusted operatives in the State Department – Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills – could play like an orchestra Hillary’s schedule, orchestrating her policy decisions for maximum gain – provided Bill Clinton and top officials at the Clinton Foundation and Teneo had inside access to classified top secret national security information sure to pass through Hillary’s email traffic.”

Order your copy of No. 1 New York Times best-selling author Jerome Corsi’s newest blockbuster, “Partners in Crime: The Clinton’s Scheme to Monetize the White House for Personal Profit,” now in stock — weeks ahead of the official Aug. 2, 2016 release date – only at the WND Superstore!

All of this adds up to two crimes, in Corsi’s estimation.

“The crime was not only corruption – the selling of ‘official acts’ as secretary of state for personal gain obtained via ‘donations’ to the Clinton Foundation – the crime was also inurement – operating a 501(c) tax-favored charity for personal gain, at the same time the politicized IRS denied tax-favored status to conservative, tea-party-affiliated groups,” Corsi said.

At the end of his book, Corsi calls for a state-level campaign to shut down the Clinton Foundation. He asks his readers to present formal complaints to their state attorneys general and demand the state criminally investigate the Clinton Foundation and shut it down nationally until the state investigation is complete.

“‘Partners in Crime’ gives you the information you need to conduct that campaign at your state level and to play a role in it, not just by reading the book, but by acting on the information that I wrote in ‘Partners in Crime,'” Corsi said.

Arctic sea ice hits a new low in June

This story was originally published by the Guardian and is reproduced here as part of the Climate Desk collaboration.

The summer sea-ice cover over the Arctic raced towards oblivion in June, crashing through previous records to reach a new all-time low.

The Arctic sea-ice extent was a staggering 260,000 square kilometers (100,000 square miles) below the previous record for June, set in 2010. And it was 1.36 million square kilometers (525,000 square miles) below the 1981-2010 long-term average, according to the National Snow and Ice Data Center.

That means a vast expanse of ice — an area about twice the size of Texas — has vanished over the past 30 years, and the rate of that retreat has accelerated.

Aside from March, each month in 2016 has set a grim new low for sea-ice cover, after a record warm winter.

NSIDC

January and February obliterated global temperature records, setting up conditions for the further retreat of the Arctic summer ice cover, scientists have warned.

Researchers did not go so far as to predict a new low for the entire 2016 season. But they said the ice pack over the Beaufort Sea was studded with newer, thinner ice, which is more vulnerable to melting. Ice cover along the Alaska coast was very thin, less than 0.5 meters (1.6 feet).

The loss of the reflective white ice cover in the polar regions exposes more of the absorptive dark ocean to solar heat, causing the water to warm up. This goes on to raise air temperatures, and melt more ice — reinforcing the warming trend.

Scientists have warned the extra heat is the equivalent of 20 years of carbon emissions.

From mid-June onwards, ice cover disappeared at an average rate of 74,000 square kilometers (29,000 square miles) a day, about 70 percent faster than the typical rate of ice loss, the NSIDC said.

Sea ice loss in the first half of the month proceeded at a lower pace, only 37,000 square kilometers (14,000 square miles) a day.

The overall Arctic sea-ice cover during June averaged 10.60 million square kilometers (4.09 million square miles), the lowest in the satellite record for the month, according to the NSIDC.

There was more open water than average in the Kara and Barents seas as well as in the Beaufort Sea, despite below average temperatures, the NSIDC said.

The Baton Rouge photograph that everyone is talking about

Updated 1703 GMT (0103 HKT) July 11, 2016

(CNN)
Will this be the photograph that symbolizesthis past week's protests?

An image of what appears to be a woman's peaceful resistance to police is garnering plenty of attention online.
Shot by Jonathan Bachman for Reuters, the photograph shows a black woman in profile, standing in the middle of the street as two police officers in riot gear seem to be preparing to arrest her in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
"Everyone was given proper instructions and a certain amount of time to clear the roadway. If they did not, then they were arrested," said L'Jean McKneely, spokesman for the Baton Rouge Police Department.
People are already calling the photograph iconic on social media.
    "Jeez. Just wow," Bob De Jonge wrote on Twitter.

    Protest symbol

    The symbolism of a single person's nonviolent resistance against a large, heavily armed opposition is reminiscent of a handful of other famous photographs, including Marc Riboud's shot of a Vietnam war protester holding a flower in front of armed police, or the image of the lone protester confronting a tank in Tiananmen Square.
    More recently, the Bachman shot calls to mind a photograph of activist Maria-Teresa "Tess" Asplund standing alone and confronting several hundred neo-Nazi marchers in Sweden, her fist firmly raised in protest.

    Weekend of unrest

    The Baton Rouge photograph was captured amid a weekend of intense, sometimes violent nationwide protests that culminated in the arrest of hundreds of demonstrators, angry at the latest killings of black men by police officers.
    Despite pleas for calm from all sides, at least 312 people have been arrested at protests from New York to Chicago, and in St. Paul, Minnesota, and Baton Rouge, where two black men, Philando Castile and Alton Sterling, were shot to death by police.
    Many of the protests against police violence have been peaceful. In Dallas -- before a gunman killed five police officers at a Black Lives Matter rally last week -- officers were even posing for photos with demonstrators.

    Black Lives Matter protesters condemned the Dallas killings, calling the attack on law enforcement a tragedy not just for those affected but also for the nation.
    "Black activists have raised the call for an end to violence, not an escalation of it. (Thursday's) attack was the result of the actions of a lone gunman," the group said.
    "To assign the actions of one person to an entire movement is dangerous and irresponsible. We continue our efforts to bring about a better world for all of us."
    CNN's Cristiana Moisescu and Falyn Page contributed to this report

    I read a news article where a police chief asked 'churches' to get involved with communities to help diminish 'shootings' in their neighborhoods ...

    ~~~ I think police precincts know they have 'unprofessional co-workers' in their ranks and should diminish the number of their own unprofessional co-workers for they are a hazard to the credibility of their profession
    109 killed in floods, landslips, lightning since April 13: Govt
    - Post Report, Kathmandu
    Jul 9, 2016- As many as 109 people have been killed—47 in landslides and flooding and 62 in lightning bolts—and 197 others have been injured in such natural disasters since April 13, Minister for Home Affairs Shakti Basnet told Parliament on Friday.
    According to the data prepared by the Ministry of Home Affairs, lightning was the leading cause of death across the country and Makawanpur and Dhading are the districts where the highest number of casualties by lightning was recorded.
    According to Basnet, 121 cases of flood and landslide were reported during the period. At least 16 persons from around a dozen districts have gone missing. Similarly, 112 houses have been destroyed, while 160 houses have been partially damaged due to rain-induced disasters.
    “Lightning injured 140 people,” said Basnet. “Over a dozen districts have been affected by rain-induced disasters.” Basnet was updating the House about the deaths and destructions caused by rain-induced disasters as per Speaker Onsari Gharti’s Thursday’s ruling. “The government is airlifting locals from areas vulnerable to landslides and flooding in Sindhupalchok to safer locations,” Basnet told the House.
    58 flood victims rescued
    SINdHUPALCHOK
    As many as 58 people affected by floods in Tatopani, Liping and Kodari in Sindhupalchok district were rescued by a Nepali Army helicopter on Friday. Inspector Khumlal Bhusal said police also rescued flood victims from Dashkilo near Tatopani. “They have been moved to Barhabishe, Jalbire and Chaukidanda area now,” he said. On Thursday, at least 100 families had fled their settlements after the swollen Bhotekoshi river caused massive land erosion.
    In Jajarkot, landslides buried four school buildings and five houses in Laha and other VDCs. Police said 26 families of Laha-4 are at high risk of landslides. A landslide that occurred at Chaurikharka in Solukhumbu district has destroyed around six houses. Police said the landslide also swept away two houses.
    Similarly, a flood in Bakraha stream has threatened villagers of south Morang.
