Toxic mercury fog pouring into San Francisco

Saturday, February 06, 2016 by: Evelyn Pringle, health freedom writer

(NaturalNews) The fog along the coast of California is depositing a neurotoxin called monomethyl mercury in San Franciso — at a concentration about 20 times that of rain — thought to come from burning coal and other fossil fuels, according to SFGate.com.

"Understanding the mechanism — a process that reaches into the ocean, pulls out a neurotoxin, then shuttles it ashore in fog — is very important," said Kenneth Coale of the Moss Landing Marine Laboratories. "This is a completely new pathway."

"We're seeing that there's mercury along the coast at every level in the plants, in the herbivores, in the carnivores," Peter Weiss-Penzias, an atmospheric chemist at UC Santa Cruz, told the Santa Cruz Sentinel.

The Sentinel reports that, "Mercury poisoning can damage the brain and nervous system and impair reproductive functions."

According to Popular Science, Coale and Weiss-Penzias found that levels of mercury "were 19 times higher in fog than in rain, even in the same area."

Public health concern over food chain

"It is a public health concern because it tends to build up in the food chain, as animals with low levels of mercury in their bodies are eaten by carnivores," Popular Science reports. "The carnivores, which may eat many mercury-contaminated prey, end up with a lot of mercury in their bodies."

Carnivores that people eat include salmon and sharks but can also include pets such as cats and dogs.

A study on wolf spiders found mercury levels exceeded FDA limits on mercury consumption. "The spiders probably aren't feeling toxic effects, but the birds that eat the spiders could since the concentration of mercury acuminates," Weiss-Penzias said.

"Picture fog sweeping over the ocean's surface at night, absorbing all these neurotoxins," Coale explained in the Sentinel. "Then the mop is rung out over the redwood forests and maritime chaparral landscapes and the organisms who live there."

The scientists found mercury in the whiskers and fur of mountain lions in the Santa Cruz Mountains, blanketed by redwoods and chaparral, which receive 90% of their water from fog.

Ecosystem health issue

"While it might not be a human health issue at this point, it looks like it is an ecosystem health issue in the long run," Coale said. "And it's coming from human sources — that is coal-fired plants."

As this mechanism continues, the scientists told SFGate.com, regulators may want to consider action to restrict human sources of mercury, although much of the pollution comes from industries across the Pacific, such as Chinese factories. "I am hopeful that when all the exposure routes are added up, we will see that we are receiving quite a burden," Coale said, "and that perhaps we should be considering limiting (mercury) emissions, particularly from coal-fired power plants — not just from a climate change perspective, but from an ecosystem health perspective as well."

Popular Science that Coales and Weiss-Penzias plan to continue "looking into how mercury from fog affects the food web on land, and hope to eventually be able to use drones to monitor the fog as it comes in."

Confirmed: Zika virus can be purchased over the internet; origins linked to Rockefeller Foundation

(NaturalNews) Over the last several days, the alternative media has revealed astonishing details about the true history of the Zika virus. (TIP: Search GoodGopher.com for "Zika" to get the latest news from the independent media, updated hourly.)

With many outstanding articles already published, such as
this one by GlobalResearch.ca, Natural News set out to investigate Zika virus origins and availability more deeply.

We've now been able to confirm three astonishing facts about Zika virus (h/t to others in alt. media who initiated this line of investigation):

1) YES, Zika virus traces its origins back to the Rockefeller Foundation. (More explanation below.)

2) YES, Zika virus can be purchased online. We were able to find two suppliers who offer three different strains of the virus to qualified level-2 biohazard laboratories.

3) It appears to be conceivable that a bioterrorist organization could set up a level-2 biohazard lab and use it to acquire Zika virus in a deliberate attempt to use it as a weapon against humanity. There do not appear to be adequate safeguards in the industry to prevent this from happening.

Zika virus origins: Rockefeller Foundation and Dr. Jordi Casals

Some of the alt. media have misreported the Zika virus as being "patented" by the Rockefeller Foundation. We have not been able to find any patent on the virus, but we have found numerous references to the virus being "isolated" by Dr. Jordi Casals who worked for the Rockefeller Foundation.

According to
this NYT article, Dr. Casals died in 2004 at the age of 92. He was also the discoverer of the Lassa Virus and was nearly killed by it in 1969.

As the NYT reports:

Jordi Casals-Ariet was born in Viladrau, Girona, in Spain on May 15, 1911. He served with the Spanish Army before earning his medical degree from the University of Barcelona in 1934. After interning there, Dr. Casals moved to Manhattan and worked at Cornell University Medical College from 1936 to 1938, when he joined the Rockefeller Institute of Medical Research in Manhattan.

The
Rockefeller Foundation, of course, is the same globalist institution that helped destroy alternative medicine while establishing a market monopoly for pharmaceutical-based medications and vaccines.

Purchasing Zika virus online

Natural News confirmed that live Zika virus specimens can be purchased online from at least two science research cell line providers.

ATCC, found
at this link, offers a Zika Virus VR-84 strain for $516.

BEI Resources, found
at this link, offers three different strains of Zika Virus: Zika virus MR 766, Zika virus IbH 30656 and Zika virus DAK AR 41542.

See screen shots here:

Are restrictions on sale of Zika virus adequate?

Both ATCC and BEI limit their sales to level-2 biohazard labs, but beyond that, there seem to be no limitations on who can purchase Zika virus samples. Because I run a forensic food science lab, I'm very much aware that laboratories are able to purchase some astonishingly dangerous substances over the internet. For example, I can readily purchase something like hexavalent chromium in liquid form, which is an extremely dangerous substance in terms of its chemical toxicity. (My own lab, however, doesn't mess around with infectious biohazard viruses. That's insanely dangerous and not our area of focus... mostly, we just purchase external standards for heavy metals testing and pesticide analysis...)

As ATCC explains:

Zika virus is classified as a biological safety level (BSL) 2 pathogen. In order to request Zika virus from ATCC, requestors and their institutions must demonstrate they have appropriate facilities and safety programs (in accordance with Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL) guidelines) in place for the level of the material requested. Only qualified researchers and laboratories are eligible to order and receive Zika virus from ATCC.
[endif]

Aiding in vaccine research? Or inadvertently supporting bioterrorism?

ATCC says that it is providing the Zika virus for the purpose of aiding researchers in the search for a vaccine or other treatments against Zika. This seems like a reasonable explanation to me. Obviously, various labs around the world need to acquire the Zika virus in some way in order to be able to test possible treatments against it. (But they still won't dare test any plant-based medicines for fear that they might work better than vaccines and pharmaceuticals.)

As ATCC
says in this press release, "ATCC, the premier global biological materials resource and standards organization, is poised to assist the medical and life science researchers that are working to address the evolving concerns around Zika Virus infection."

In order to achieve this, ATCC is apparently producing a much larger quantity of Zika virus than usual, which is also completely understandable given the current circumstances. "ATCC is now working to respond to the greatly increased demand for the Zika virus in an effort to support a better understanding of its biology and to foster development of accurate and dependable diagnostic tests."

The real question in all this, however, is whether ATCC might inadvertently ship Zika virus to some organization intent on using it to commit bioterrorism. This is actually a much larger question than just Zika. All the dangerous viral pathogens that are available through research supply companies -- Ebola, Lassa, bird flu, etc. -- might conceivably fall into the wrong hands at some point and be used in acts of bioterrorism.

Many in the scientific community, including myself, are very concerned about the ease of availability of these specimens through viral cell line supply houses. What furthers this concern is the new explosion in low-tech, low cost genetic engineering techniques such as CRISPR which theoretically might allow a lone bioterrorist to modify pandemic bacterial strains (or possibly even viral strains at some future date) in order to deliberately release them into the public space. See
New GMO "gene drive" technology could be used to unleash the world's most devastating biological weapon. (See search results for CRISPR on GoodGopher.com.)

While it's crucial to support scientific research, I believe we need a much more serious national discussion about the ease at which some of these viral strains can be acquired.

In fact, it is my contention that we've already witnessed an act of corporate sponsored bioterrorism carried out by the biotech industry against Chipotle, where
E.coli was deliberately sprayed onto Chipotle food using a simple handheld nebulizer.

If evil, profit-driven corporations can pull off acts of corporate sabotage using microbes like E.coli, imagine the havoc they could unleash if they wanted to unleash Zika virus in a place like Miami. It's worth noting that we've already seen shocking statements from many scientists about their desire to
use genetically engineered viral strains to accomplish global depopulation goals.

We must be cautious as a society. Thanks to rapid advances in science and genetic engineering, the tools of bioterrorism are increasingly readily available to more nefarious corporations (biotech) and terrorist organizations such as ISIS. With something like a weaponized Zika virus, all it takes is one oversight on the part of lab supply companies to place this virus in the hands of some organization that intends to use it to cause widespread death and destruction.

Remember, building a level-2 biohazard lab might cost $10 million or so, but once that's done, acquiring Zika virus from ATCC is only $516.

Swine flu to KILL OFF ISIS: Panicked Daesh issues urgent health warning after dozens die

ISLAMIC State (ISIS) jihadis have issued an urgent health warning as the killer swine flu epidemic threatens to wipe out fighters across Syria and Iraq.

Swine flu threatens to wipe out Islamic State (ISIS)

Panicking ISIS could be crippled by the deadly virus after residents living under the ISIS reign - also known as Daesh - reported a "mysterious epidemic" sweeping through the region.

A human rights monitor group based in ISIS-ruled territories revealed the outbreak had infected "dozens of civilians in the countryside of Raqqa", where the terror group has set up its headquarters.

The reported death toll, which rose to "around 20 people" this week, has put the panicked terrorists on edge and prompted a desperate health shut down.

According to watchdog Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently (RIBSS), the epidemic had triggered "panic among civilians" and taken the lives of at least two children so far.

Barbaric militants have been issuing information leaflets in strongholds urging citizens to wash their hands to avoid contracting the killer virus.

One analyst revealed: "ISIS distributed influenza prevention flyers throughout Raqqa yesterday because of the spreading flu.”

Swine flu, which turned into a pandemic in Britain between 2009 and 2010, is similar to the common flu, but more severe.

In Britain most cases were mild, but a number of lives were lost. The weak, old, or those with other health complications are particularly vulnerable to complications.

Also known as H1N1, the virus could now debilitate a weakening terror regime.

Daesh recently put out a desperate plea for foreign doctors, including those trained by the NHS, to move to Syria and Iraq.

The Islamists have already been forced to halve the wages of their fighters earlier this year and many living under their rule suffer from "widespread starvation and limited access to healthcare".

Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) estimate more than 95 per cent of doctors have fled or been killed in most Syrian cities.

The Bashar Al-Assad-led Syrian Government has confirmed 11 fatal cases of swine flu in regime-controlled areas since September, with hundreds more infected.

However, opposition groups have claimed the Government is "covering up" the death toll, insisting the true figure is around 40 deaths.

Nobody is even allowed into the major hospitals in Damascus unless they are wearing a face mask, according to Ahmad Damiriyeh from the health ministry's division on chronic and contagious diseases.

One mother, Samia, who lives on the Syrian coast in Tartus, said: “If the virus continues to spread at this rate, we will have to leave the country. What we hear from people is scary."

The virus has spread throughout the Middle Eastern region, with more than 100 people killed towards the end of last year in Iran and Lebanon.

Dr. Anna Farra, infectious diseases specialist at a hospital in Beirut said: “I don’t know about the number of deaths but there is definitely an increase in the number of swine flu cases in the country."

N. Korea preparing 5th nuclear test - S. Korea spy agency

Edited time: 7 Feb, 2016 14:55

North Korea is preparing for its fifth nuclear test, the South's intelligence services have said, as cited by Yonhap agency. The news come hours after Pyongyang claimed it had successfully put an earth observation satellite into orbit.

Earlier the agency reported that the South Korean military found suspected fragments of the North’s rocket.

The metal object believed to be a part of the rocket's fairing (the nose cone which houses the payload) was discovered southeast of South Korea's Jeju Island by a navy ship, an official from the country's Defense Ministry said.

Yonhap cited a Seoul lawmaker, who said the North has the technology for an intercontinental ballistic missile.

“The satellite is presumed to weigh 200 kilograms, two times heavier than the satellite launched in 2012," the lawmaker said, after being briefed in a closed-door session by the National Intelligence Service. A proper satellite usually weighs at least 800 to 1,500 kilograms, the agency wrote.

The North Korean satellite was launched on a “carrier rocket” that blasted off from the Sohae Space Center in Cholsan County. The KCNA news agency said the satellite entered its preset orbit nine minutes and 46 seconds after lift-off at 9:09am Korean time.

Russia’s Interfax agency has cited the North Korean embassy in Moscow as saying that Pyongyang is planning to continue to launching rockets carrying satellites into space.

The launch triggered international concern as a potential long-range missile test. The UN Security Council has scheduled an emergency meeting to discuss the situation. South Korean bodies are already convening emergency meetings at different levels. The UNSC has been working on sanctions against Pyongyang for its January nuclear test.

"North Korea has committed an unacceptable provocation by launching a long-range missile after conducting a fourth nuclear test,” South Korean President Park Geun-hye said. "The [UN] Security Council should quickly come up with strong sanctions."

South Korean officials say parts of the long-range rocket launched earlier by North Korea were likely received from Russia, TASS reported. North Korea manufactured everything, but important parts were probably received from Russia.

“We have information to prove that,” a South Korean official said during a briefing.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Japanese counterpart, Fumio Kishida, discussed the North Korean rocket launch on the phone on Sunday.

Lavrov stressed the importance of diplomacy in defusing tension in Northeast Asia during the conversation, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The discussion of the launch, performed in violation of UN Security Council resolutions, was initiated by the Japanese side, it added.

Erdogan: US should choose between Turkey, Kurdish forces

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — Turkey's president lashed out at the United States a week after President Barack Obama's envoy visited a northern Syrian town that is under the control of Syrian Kurdish forces, which Ankara considers terrorists.

In comments published Sunday, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Washington should choose between Turkey and the Kurdish Democratic Union Party, or PYD, as its partner.

That came after envoy Brett McGurk's visit to Kobani, where the PYD's military wing, aided by U.S.-led airstrikes, drove back Islamic State militants a year ago. Turkey considers the PYD a terrorist group because of its affiliation with Turkey's outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK.

Erdogan said: "How can we trust you? Is it me that is your partner or is it the terrorists in Kobani?"

In Washington, a State Department spokesman reiterated the longstanding U.S. policy that considers the PKK "to be a terrorist organization."

"We continue to call on the PKK to immediately cease its campaign of violence. A resumed political process offers the best hope for greater civil rights, security, and prosperity for all the citizens of Turkey," said Noel Clay of the State Department.
