UNRAVELING – Disasters Continue To Increase In America

(Ricky Scaparo) Have you noticed lately how many disasters are taking place in America? In case you haven’t noticed we are seeing events transpiring all around us from earthquakes to methane Gas leaks to water contamination! Just last month we saw massive wildfires and giant tornadoes right around Christmas. The wildfire that erupted northwest of Los Angeles on Christmas Day and the devastating tornadoes that ripped through the Dallas area can be added to a growing list of disasters that have struck the United States since the month of September.

Reports indicated that the Texas blizzard “Goliath” may have claimed more than 30,000 Cows in Texas. The same storm that led to two tornado outbreaks in the United States and disastrous flooding also drove the North Pole to the freezing point 50 degrees above average for the normal in December.

Then we have the “Unstoppable” California gas leak that is now being called the worst Catastrophe since the BP Oil spill. In fact the story over at ENENews tells us about the largest gas leak ever recorded, equivalent to the strength of a volcanic eruption, and according to one expert, “It’s so far above and beyond what I’ve ever seen.” Telling us that what we’re now watching unfolding in Los Angeles (with barely a peep from the mainstream media!!!) is ‘potentially devastating on a planetary scale’, we’re also told we’re watching a disaster unfolding in slow motion that may take up to 4 months or more to stop and is leaving thousands of Californians suffering nosebleeds and vomiting according to this story.

Then we have Michigan, Where Gov. Rick Snyder declared a state of emergency for Flint and Genesee County Tuesday as a result of the contaminated drinking water crisis. The move — a cost-cutting measure while the city was under the control of a state-appointed emergency manager — resulting in a spike in lead levels in children, which causes permanent brain damage.

Then there is Levees in Illinois and Missouri that are breaking after a rare winter flood. The Mississippi River was already swollen after an unseasonably wet late fall/early winter. Beginning on December 26, 2015, most of Missouri was drenched by heavy rains. More than 10 inches of rain fell over a period of three days, and the area was left flooded, which doesn’t usually happen in the Midwest until spring.

Earthquake Swarms are increasing in Oklahoma and the Pacific Northwest as just today aMagnitude 4.7 And 4.8 Earthquakes Shook Oklahoma 30 Seconds Apart as 22 Quakes Reported In 13 Hours and felt from central Kansas to southern Oklahoma and the eastern Texas panhandle, including in Wichita, Kansas, and the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. Meanwhile Hundreds Of Tremors Continue To Shake the Pacific Northwest! The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network plotted 427 tremors on a map. “What’s happening is there’s an episode where the deep plate boundary is kind of rumbling,” said Dr. John Vidale, director of the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network.

America’s Economy is being rocked the first week of the new year as China’s Market is halted twice in one week resulting in the Dow Closing at Triple Digits, Posting Worst Opening Day In 8 Years. Meanwhile Billionaire financier George Soros is warning of an impending financial markets crisis as investors around the world were roiled by turmoil in China trade for the second time this week.

Now Scientists are warning that Yellowstone Super-Volcano could blow at anytime and kill millions. The report indicated that there is few real contingency plans in place to deal with the ticking time bomb, which they conclude is likely to go off within the next 80 years. The world’s most dangerous active volcanoes include Yellowstone, Mount Vesuvius in Campagnia, Italy, and Popocatépetl i near Mexico City.

I recently warned about these disasters increasing on a greater scale for not only America but expanding worldwide as we are entering the stronger “Birth-Pangs” of the Messiah and the Nations of the world continue to be defiant against the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob! The cup of the wrath of God is becoming full and I fear lest there is a true cry of repentance soon we could just be witnessing the beginning of sorrows!

ISIS fighter executes own mother in Syria for 'apostasy,' rights groups say

Updated 1134 GMT (1934 HKT) January 8, 2016

How does ISIS govern its territory? 02:06

(CNN) An ISIS fighter has executed his own mother before a public audience, an expat Syrian rights group said.

The 20-year-old killed his mother in the Syrian city of Raqqa, ISIS' de facto capital, as hundreds looked on near the post office where she worked, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

ISIS had accused her of apostasy after her son turned her in, the activists said. She allegedly had been "inciting her son to leave the Islamic State." She wanted to escape with him and told him "that the coalition will kill all members of the organization."

The observatory reported that the victim was in her 40s. The activist group Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently reported that she was 35.

CNN has not been able to independently confirm the reports of the rights groups.

ISIS has fostered a reputation of extremism by carrying out staged killings
such as beheadings, mass shootings and burnings on camera and posting video of them to social media.

WND EXCLUSIVE

Expert: North Korea H-bomb is 'super-EMP weapon'

Explosion over U.S. could send nation back into agrarian age

Published: 1 day ago

WASHINGTON – While North Korea on Wednesday was hyperbolically bragging about having exploded a test hydrogen bomb, some nuclear weapons experts were downplaying the event because of its low-kiloton yield and relatively small seismic wave.

In fact,
the White House said the results from various monitors simply weren’t consistent with a hydrogen bomb, which can be far more powerful than an atomic bomb.

But one top specialist says the monitor results and North Korea’s claims align fully with the scenario of a device designed for a low yield, yet emitting an enhanced amount of gamma rays.

Peter Pry, an expert on electromagnetic pulse weapons, told WND the explosion indeed was such a device.

Pry said Pyongyang’s latest test, which followed three others each in the range of 10 kilotons or less, was “another kind of H-Bomb,” a neutron bomb, or enhanced radiation weapon such as a super-EMP weapon.

Such weapons constitute, essentially, a “very low-yield H-Bomb that typically has yields of 1-10 kilotons, just like the North Korean device,” he said.

North Korea has been conducting underground nuclear tests since February 2013, all of which have been of low-kiloton yield.

Pry previously has warned that Pyongyang was working on a low-yield radiation bomb with very high emissions of gamma rays.

A year ago, Pry told WND that North Korea was working on such a device, but that the Obama administration denied it had developed miniaturized nuclear warheads and missiles to deliver them.

The denial, Pry said, came despite an assessment by both the Defense Intelligence Agency and the Central Intelligence Agency that such do indeed exist.

“President Obama himself began this big lie amidst the 2013 nuclear crisis when North Korea was threatening to make nuclear missile strikes against the U.S. and its allies,” Pry said.

Pry is a former analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency and a former staff director of the congressionally mandated EMP commission that examined the likely effects of an EMP on the U.S. national grid system and unprotected electronics. He also is the executive director of the congressional advisory Task Force on National and Homeland Security and the U.S. Nuclear Strategy Forum.

Learn the real dangers America faces in “A Nation Forsaken – EMP: The Escalating Threat of an American Catastrophe.”

Pry, like other experts on EMP, was concerned that the North Koreans could launch a missile with a satellite that could constitute a nuclear device designed to explode on command at a high altitude over a highly populated area of a highly technical society such as the United States.

Such an explosion would be capable of knocking out the nation’s already vulnerable electrical grid system and all of the life-sustaining critical infrastructures that depend on it. From food supply chains, fuel supply systems, communications, banking and more, all grid-dependent systems could suffer.

Pry is author of the recent book, “Blackout Wars,” which focuses on EMP-related lessons learned and what the several states are doing on their own initiative, “because of Washington’s lethargy in dealing with this existential threat,” according to former Ambassador Henry F. Cooper, who was the first director of the Strategic Defense Initiative under former President George H. W. Bush.

“It should be understood that the challenge is almost entirely political – technical solutions have been known for a half century and expected expenses are relatively minor,” Cooper said.

North Korea said it had detonated an underground hydrogen bomb, drawing immediate condemnation from the United States, Britain, Japan, South Korea and even China, which until now was thought to have some influence over the North Korean leadership.

However, China was apparently not advised of the detonation beforehand.

North Korea’s KCNA website made the announcement that it had tested a “miniaturized” hydrogen bomb “in the most perfect manner.”

“(North Korean leader) Kim Jong-un could be telling the truth,” Pry told G2Bulletin. “Indeed, all four North Korean nuclear tests look like a super-EMP weapon because of their very low yield. That the ‘Dear Leader’ described the latest test as an H-Bomb is further evidence that North Korea’s mysterious nuke is a super-EMP warhead.”

Pry was referring to a so-called enhanced radiation weapon, or neutron bomb, designed to generate enhanced gamma rays which in turn cause the super-EMP effect.

An H-bomb of identical explosive yield of a fission, or atomic, bomb is a neutron bomb that will emit some 10 times the amount of neutron radiation. In an atomic device, the total radiation pulse energy composed of gamma rays and neutrons is only 5 percent of the entire energy released.

In a neutron bomb, it is closer to 40 percent. In addition, the neutrons emitted by a neutron bomb have a much higher average energy level than those released during a fission reaction.

North Korea previously has threatened the U.S. with a nuclear attack, broadcasting dramatized videos of such attacks on the U.S. Capitol and the White House.

Pyongyang, through its KCNA website, also said it will continue developing nuclear weapons until the U.S. drops its “vicious, hostile” policy to isolate the Hermit Kingdom.

“The U.S. is a gang of cruel robbers which has worked hard to bring even a nuclear disaster to the DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea), not content with having imposed the thrice-cursed and unheard-of political isolation, economic blockade and military pressure on it for the mere reason that it has differing ideology and social system,” according to the KCNA statement.

“The present-day grim reality clearly proves once again the immutable truth that one’s destiny should be defended by one’s own efforts,” the statement added. “Nothing is more foolish than dropping a hunting gun before herds of ferocious wolves.”

Oil falls again to lowest levels in more than 11 years

Published: Jan 7, 2016 3:15 p.m. ET

WTI and Brent oil touched lows under $33 Thursday.

Oil futures settled with a loss on Thursday for a fourth straight session, as turmoil in China continued to raise the risk for a slowdown in energy demand from one of the world’s top consumers.

With prices already at their lowest levels in more than 11 years, analysts have been weighing the likelihood that U.S. prices could plunge to $20 a barrel this year.

Meanwhile, natural-gas prices surged more than 5% on the back of a much-bigger-than-expected drop in weekly U.S. supplies.

February Brent crude LCOG6, -2.10% the global oil benchmark, fell 48 cents, or 1.4%, to $33.75 on London’s ICE Futures exchange. Prices settled Thursday at their lowest level since June 2004, according to FactSet data.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, February West Texas Intermediate crudeCLG6, -1.32% shed 70 cents, or 2.1% to settle at $33.27 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It traded as low as $32.10 but also tapped a high of $34.26. Thursday’s settlement was the weakest since February 2004, FactSet data, based on the most-active contracts showed.

Fresh turmoil in China’s stock markets, a falling yuan and a string of weak economic data in recent months are seen as signs that the world’s second-largest economy is slowing at a time when the world is awash in crude. And worries surrounding China have contributed to a rout in global stock markets.

“Countries that see huge hits to measured wealth in the form of financial market crashes don’t tend to produce much growth in oil demand,” said Tom Kloza, global head of energy analysis at the Oil Price Information Service.

Read: 3 big reasons why oil is caught in a death spiral

Tariq Zahir, managing member at Tyche Capital Advisors, said he believes WTI prices can fall to the mid- to low-$20 levels ,and how fast they get there will likely surprise everyone. The situation with Iran and Saudi Arabia will keep the market “knee deep in a price war,” he told MarketWatch, in an email.

On Nymex, February reformulated gasoline RBG6, -2.89% shed 1.6 cents, or 1.4%, to $1.146 a gallon and February heating oil HOG6, -2.31% lost 1.5 cents, or 1.4%, to $1.066 a gallon.

Also on Nymex, prices for natural-gas rallied after the EIA reported a 113 billion cubic foot decline in U.S. supplies for the week of Jan. 1. Analysts polled by Platts expected a decline of between 93 billion cubic feet and 97 billion cubic feet. But the EIA said the data included a “reclassification” of certain types of natural gas.

The report still “confirms a significant over supply situation,” said Richard Gechter, Jr., principal and president of Richard W. Gechter Natural Gas Consulting. But “more and more producers will shut down--… [and] in 6 to 9 months, we will see a spike up in price due to the lack of production.”

February natural gas NGG16, +2.27% ended at $2.382 per million British thermal units, up 11.5 cents, or 5.1%.

Move Over, El Nino. There's a Crazy New Weather Threat Here

January 7, 2016

Areas of above-average sea temperatures dominating the Pacific Ocean have been dubbed “The Blob,” “Son of Blob,” and “Godzilla.” (Modified image: ClimateReanalyzer.org)

By now, everyone has probably heard about El Niño, and the effects of this weather pattern across the Western Hemisphere. Some are predicting this El Nino to be the biggest ever, naming it the “Godzilla El Niño.” But step aside Godzilla: another monster weather anomaly has been wreaking havoc with the west coast. Beware of “The Blob.”

First identified (and nicknamed) in 2014 by Nick Bond, a climatologist at the University of Washington, The Blob is a huge mass of warmed ocean waters (about five degrees Fahrenheit above normal) lurking in the Pacific Ocean just off the west coast of North America, now stretching its reach from Mexico up to Alaska. The 60-foot deep blob of water is causing havoc with weather, wildlife, and continues to require health advisories for visitors and locals alike.

And as the El Nino weather system has been storming across the Pacific this season, it has stirred up ocean waters enough to cool down the original Blob off of Alaska, but at the same time helped give birth to what has been nicknamed the “Son of Blob” off the coast of Southern California. The still-warmer Alaskan waters, and Son of Blob sector are expected to continue to magnify the El Nino effect for months to come, according to Weather Underground’s “Blob Watch” blog.

This satellite image from October 2015 shows weather patterns impacting climate change. (Photo: NOAA)

For travelers, these unexplained blobs can effect what you see (for whale watching and other nature viewing), your fishing (people fishing have caught odd species in odd spots), and what you can eat (a resulting toxic algae bloom has prompted warnings in certain areas against eating shellfish and other species.)

And whatever the cause, from global warming, to the “Pacific Decadal Oscillation,” or a ”Ridiculously Resilient Ridge,” the fact is the waters are warmer. The first effect has been warming temperatures in the Pacific Northwest. NOAA satellite imagery shows the dramatic combination of the two systems. One researcher in Alberta has gone so far as to say “this may be the year that winter is cancelled.” So if you’re planning to go skiing or ice fishing up in western Canada this winter, bring some hiking and biking gear as well.

Visitors to the northern California shores in 2014 were shocked to see masses of beached, starving, and dying sea lions. Sausalito’s Marine Mammal Center reported having to rescue over 1,100 on the sea lions that season. Though to be a result of lack of fish in the waters (their normal meals migrated to cooler waters). Then in 2015, dozens of disoriented seal and sea lions began wandering inland, including poorRubbish the sea lion pup, who had to be rescued from the streets of San Francisco and brought to the center for treatment. Thought to be a result of a neurotoxin from red algae growing in the warm waters, thisalgal bloom is now killing off seals. The Marine Mammal Center is treating some seals with a healthy fish diet and liquids, but the troubles continue. Travelers to Northern California beaches should be aware of potentially sick or strangely acting sea lions and contact the MMC if they find one.

This image from NOAA shows sea surface temperature anomalies from November 1997 and July 2015; the image from July 2015 also shows The Blob, a large pool of warm water along the northwest coast of the United States. (Photo: NOAA)

Most alarmingly for travelers and locals alike is the danger The Blob-influenced algae blooms has on human-consumed seafood. This fall, the California Department of Health lifted a ban on harvesting mussels butmaintained a warning against eating anchovy, sardines, and crabs from Monterey, Santa Cruz, and Santa Barbara counties due to high levels of the potentially fatal domoic acids. So if you’re traveling to the area, make sure to check where your seafood has come from, and don’t go grabbing any of these yourself.

Seafood bans have also impacted certain parts of Oregon andWashington as well with at least one commercial fishery closed for the season. A 2009 study by NOAA shows that the influence of an extended “red tide” season like that of The Blob could result in over $22M loss in tourist revenues to the Washington coast, where razor clam digging is a popular tourist activity.

How El Niño works. (Photo: Thinkstock)

The whale-watching season is also being affected by The Blob. Certain species of whales, like humpbacks, who have a similar diet as sea lions, may also be suffering the effects of the poison algae. Record whale beachings and die-offs have been seen from Chile up to Alaska and while the root cause is unknown, The Blob is a prime suspect. The numbers of observed dead whales don’t appear to be large enough to effect the species, and as naturalist Jackie Hildering told Yahoo Travel, “there is not likely (yet) to be an impact” on numbers seen in whale watching, but the warm waters are shifting migration patterns and could result in “exotic species coming into areas where previously they were not.”

This could be a boon to whale-watching and fishing expeditions in the Pacific Northwest looking to find something new, like tropical sunfish and thresher sharks off of Alaska.

But still, beware of The Blob: on a recent whale-watching expedition of my own to British Columbia, my ship was delayed due to extreme weather in part caused by the unnaturally warm waters, the captain citing The Blob as a factor. And the rogue wave which has been blamed for the tragic sinking of another whale watching boat may also have been a result of the strange happenings of The Blob — travelers should keep alert to National Weather Service alerts and be prepared for a very strange winter indeed.
