Russia’s Defense Ministry has announced an increase in future military equipment procurement, citing NATO’s "unfriendly" policies and the Takfiri threat in the region.

The announced plans included the annual purchase of some 200 planes and helicopters, up to 30 ships and submarines, and around 600 armored vehicles, the UPI reported on Tuesday.

"The state program for armaments extending till 2021 will increase the share of modern weapons and military hardware to no less than 70 percent," said Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces General Valery Gerasimov during a press briefing in Moscow.

The announcement came as the Russia Defense Ministry voiced concerns over the increase of NATO’s military activities along Russia’s borders, and the increase of global militant terrorism and extremism.

"First of all, the NATO military policy, unfriendly towards Russia, is a matter of concern," read a Defense Ministry statement, adding, "The alliance expands its military presence and enhances the activity of its armed forces along the borders of the Russian Federation."

Russia’s announcement comes as NATO-Moscow relations are at their lowest since the Cold War.

RT: Paper Tiger: US govt agency stopped 0 of 88,000 projects posing potential risk to endangered species

A new study carried out by Defenders for Wildlife has found that the US Fish and Wildlife Service did not stop any of the 88,000 development projects that could have posed potential risks to endangered species.

The study’s authors say it should dispel claims that the Endangered Species Act threatens projects such as logging old growth forests, dams or bridges.

There are opposing views about the effectiveness of the Endangered Species Act. Conservationists often argue that federal agencies fail to strictly apply the act and allow massive infrastructure projects to go ahead without adequate conservation controls. They also say agencies approve smaller projects that erode habitat, something that is rarely tracked. Developers and lawmakers argue the act hampers projects, thus threatening the economy and jobs.

Trying to support either claim has been confounded by the lack of available data, and what is available is either 25 years old or restricted by species.

Researchers at Defenders for Wildlife, an non-profit environmental activist group, created a database analyzing projects at agencies charged with implementing Section Seven, which requires all federal agencies to consult with the Fish and Wildlife Service or National Marine Fisheries Service to ensure that a project would not “jeopardize” a species or “destroy or adversely modify” critical habitat.

Of the more than 88,000 projects evaluated between January 2008 through April 2015, 81,461 were allowed to go ahead without requiring additional protections for wildlife, and 6,832 only required minor protections.

“The impression we often get from Congress and the media is that the Fish and Wildlife Service makes these calls all the time, that you can’t cut down a tree to build a swimming pool or that you can’t graze cattle on your ranch,” co-author of the study, Ya-Wei Li, senior director of Endangered Species Conservation for Defenders of Wildlife toldThe Guardian. “A lot of projects are modified in the first place, but this shows that none of them were stopped or substantially modified in order to avoid the jeopardy finding.”

Researchers found just two projects that required modifications for wildlife, but none were actually stopped in order to protect endangered species. Of the two projects, one was a US Forest Service proposal to use fire retardants in national forests that could have jeopardized 45 forest-dwelling species. Despite the proposal resulting in a court case, a revised consultation concluded there was no risk to any of the species. Similarly, a water management project in California’s Central Valley that could have threatened delta smelt fish was also permitted.

Without accurate information about how the government implements a law, public perceptions of the law may be driven by anecdotes, unsupported generalizations, or misinformation. Controversial laws may be particularly susceptible to this problem…,”wrote Li in the study’s introduction.

The study also found that groups of species were not evaluated in proportion to their listed numbers. Birds were evaluated 3.6 times more often than expected based on the number of birds listed in the act, and mammals 3.4 times, whereas flowers were evaluated at only 0.27 times the expected rate and snails at 0.08. Barely considered were lichens, frogs, insects, butterflies or corals. There are currently almost 1,600 plants and animals considered to be endangered.

A tally from 1991 shows that there were 350 “jeopardy judgements” out of the 73,560 consultations conducted before that, compared with only two adverse outcomes rendered in more than 88,000 cases over the past seven years.

“While our findings should lay to rest the unfounded claims by ESA-opponents that the act is destroying jobs and the economy,” said Li in a statement, “the study raises significant questions as to why the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has virtually ceased finding that any projects threaten a species’ survival.”

Li said when the act was passed in the 1970s under the Richard Nixon administration, it was more common for FWS to find that a project jeopardized a species. However, even when that did happen, 99.9 percent “still proceeded ultimately with only limited modifications.”

Li told The Guardian that his team knows the FWS agency is understaffed, making it harder for them to do their work, but she said it is hard to believe the federal agency is better at conservation or more environmentally friendly now than in the past.

A FWS spokeswoman told The Guardian that the agency had not seen the study, but was confident the Section Seven process was working effectively.

The study was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Exposing Bilderberg – The Big Club That You’re Not Part Of

Galactic Free Press's picture

There is a lot to know when it comes to current events, but to someone who doesn’t know about hidden powers such as the Bilderberg group these events might not be fully understood. Knowledge of this powerful group is absolutely essential if you want to have a grasp not only on what is happening, but why it is happening, and what influences might be behind current events. Most people still don’t know about this group, but many more are starting to hear about it, and are connecting the dots as to what it is and the influence that it has.

The Bilderberg group is a secretive association of roughly 140+ of the worlds most powerful people, which have closed-door meetings once a year in what are supposed to be clandestine locations around the globe (although the location is always leaked). The 2011 meeting was held in switzerland, the 2012 meeting was in Chantilly, Virginia, and the 2014 Bilderberg meeting was held in Copenhagen, Denmark. The group was actually never given an official name until many years after its formation when they were dubbed the Bilderberg Group after the name of the hotel in which their first meeting was held in 1954, the Bilderberg Hotel orHotel De Bilderberg in Oosterbeek in the Netherlands.

Some say that the Bilderberg group is nothing more than a harmless get-together of wealthy elites who just want to relax and have a nice time discussing business matters without undesired scrutiny from the public. This may be partially true, but is not the entire case. By and large, the people who suggest that this group is a harmless entity are either those who are totally ignorant of the group, or those working in the mainstream media, which plays an important role in keeping the activities of Bilderberg out of sight of the public.

This incredibly important and influential group had received nearly zero press coverage since its formation in 1954, that is, until the alternative media discovered it and began reporting on it years ago. Alex Jones, one of the main reporters exposing this, was in fact called a ‘conspiracy theorist‘ for even suggesting that this group existed over a decade ago. However, now that he and others have brought forth volumes of information on Bilderberg, evenmainstream media outlets, which have attended meetings in the past and formerly refused to touch it in reporting, have been forced into covering it. However, the mainstream media always makes sure to put enough spin on the story to make you think that it is really nothing worth paying attention to, while leaving out critical information that suggests otherwise.

A few politicians, mainstream media representatives and other power-men have been confronted about Bilderberg, and they all either refuse to acknowledge its existence, give ridiculous explanations to avoid legitimately answering the question, or refuse to speak about it at all.

Here, you can watch MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell confronted by We Are Change’s Luke Rudkowski claim to know nothing about it, saying that he is “way too lazy” to look it up, then just say some pretty bizarre stuff all around, all while having a disturbingly blank look on his face:

CNN’s Paula Zahn also claimed to know nothing of the group. PBS’s Charlie Rose voice shook as he gave very specific and evasive talking points about the group during his confrontation. The first time that Rose was asked about the group he simply walked away to avoid making a statement altogether. The list goes on and on to include politicians and other associated ‘elitist’ individuals and the response virtually does not change. Nobody who has gone to Bilderberg dares say a word about what went on during these meetings.

Luke Rudkowski confronts Paula Zahn of CNN about Bilderberg:

33rd Degree free mason, Charlie Rose doesn’t like to be asked about the shadowy elite group:

Guest lists of the elite meetings have been leaked several times, revealing who actually attends these highly secretive events. The guest list from 2011 includes David Rockefeller,Henry Kissinger, Eric Schmidt (CEO of Google), Charlie Rose (PBS), Craig J. Mundie (Microsoft), Keith B. Alexander (director of NSA), Jeff Bezos (founder and CEO of Amazon.com), James B. Steinberg and many more. The group’s attendees also regularly include a whole list of foreign officials, which makes this groups very existence a violation of the Logan Act passed in 1799 under the John Adams administration, making it a crime for a citizen to confer with foreigngovernments against the interests of the United States.

A chart from business insider reveals the connections that the Bilderberg group has to corporate and government entities and it is massive!

Once you understand how influences global politics, business, media and much more, you will understand just how much power some people have over the rest of the population, which is imperative in understanding how our world works.

Thousands of Russian Troops sent to Turkish Border

http://fortruss.blogspot.co.uk/2015/12/thousands-of-russian-troops-sent-to.html

Fort Russ – 15th December, 2015
Originally published at What Does It Mean on the 28th November by Sorcha Faal
*It was also reported here on the 14th December*

A stunning new Ministry of Defense (MoD) report circulating in the Kremlin states that President Putin, this morning, issued an order to the 58th Army Headquarters of the North-Caucasian Military District to immediately deploy “selected” regiments and brigades of Federation military electronic warfare, anti-aircraft, multiple rocket launcher, anti-tank, motorized rifle, and artillery forces to the Turkish-Armenia border—which in total comprises nearly 7,000 Russian troops now being put into full combat status.

According to this report, the legal authorization for this massive combat deployment is due to the joint Russian-Armenian missile air defense system agreement ordered to be signed by President Putin on 11 November and which will be finalized this week by Prime Minister Medvedev.

With Armenia now becoming a vital part of the Russian Joint Air Defense, this report continues, Federation military forces will now be able to counter threats from Turkey coming from that nations western border—which will mirror the air defense protections provided by Federation Aerospace and Naval forces on Turkey’s border with Syria that since being implemented this past week have seen both United States and Turkish aircraft completely cease flying missions against Islamic State terrorists in this war zone all together.

Important to note too about this Federation military deployment to Armenia, this report says, are that these forces will be protected, like their counterparts operating in Syria, with S-400 Triumf (NATO designation: SA-21 Growler) medium/long-range mobile surface-to-air missile systems and Krasukha-4 jamming platforms giving them near total air defense superiority over 85 percent of Turkish territory.

The Krasukha-4 broadband multifunctional jamming station is mounted on a BAZ-6910-022 four-axle-chassis and like the Krasukha-2, the Krasukha-4 counters NATO-Turkish AWACS and other air borne radar systems. The Krasukha-4, also, has the range for effectively disrupting low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites and can cause permanent damage to targeted radio-electronic devices with ground based radars also being a viable target—which is, undoubtedly, MoD experts in this report state, the reason US and Turkish aircraft have fled from the skies over Syria.

Russia’s fearsome S-400 anti-aircraft missiles arrive in Syria.
Russia’s Krasukha-4 broadband multifunctional jamming station operating in Syria.
With the criminal Erdogan regime in Turkey continuing to support Islamic State terrorists in Syria and Iraq, this report further notes, President Putin’s order today to begin the deployment of Federation military forces to Armenia will protect that nations peoples from their barbaric Turkish enemies who just a century ago (1915-1917) massacred an estimated 1.5 million men, women and children in what is known now as the Armenian Genocide.

And to the great shame of the United States against these Armenia peoples too, this report grimly states, President Obama, this past August, and for the 7th year in row, broke his promise to them to acknowledge the genocide committed against them by Turkey.

The Federation, however, this report continues, is not only one of the 25 nations that has acknowledge the Armenian Genocide, this past week a bill was introduced into the Russian parliament on holding to account anyone who denies that the killings of Armenians by Ottoman Turkish forces was “genocide”.
With Turkish President Erdogan having lashed out at Russia, Germany and France for recognizing the Armenian Genocide, this report warns, his actions against the Kurdish peoples in the Levant Region are even more troubling—especially since this past summer when he broke off all peace talks with them.

But to the Federations greatest fears of the criminal Erdogan necessitating the deployment of thousands of Russian troops to Turkey’s border, this report concludes, is his using of Islamic State terrorists to create for himself a new empire—and which he and his Prime Minister this past May (2015) made no secret of when they declared to the entire Islamic world:

“We Will Gather Together Kurds And Arabs, And All Of The Muslim World, And Invade Jerusalem, And Create A One World Islamic Empire.”

[O.R: This information was confirmed by reliable sources who are close to both the Iraqi and Syrian armies, as well as Hezbollah, hence its publication on Fort Russ]

Malala Condemns Donald Trump’s Muslim Ban Proposal in U.S.

By
Nobel peace laureate Malala Yousafzai listens to a speech at a Poppies for Peace in Peshawar event to mark the 2014 Taliban attack on the Peshawar Army Public School, in Birmingham Britain, December 15.
Malala Yousafzai condemned Donald Trump’s call, on Tuesday, for a complete ban on Muslims entering the U.S at an event to remember the lives of 134 children killed by the Taliban at a Pakistan school one year ago.

The
Nobel Peace Prize winner said that Trump’s call for the ban earlier this month, as part of his presidential campaign, and his views on Muslims were prejudiced.

“Well that’s really tragic that you hear these comments which are full of hatred, full of this ideology of being discriminative towards others,” she said at the event in Birmingham, U.K.

She
added that such rhetoric could “radicalize more terrorists” and that politicians and the media should “not try to blame the whole population of Muslims” as “it cannot stop terrorists,” as reported by BBC News .

Her father, Ziauddin Yousafzai, also criticized Trump for his remarks. In reference to the number of global Muslims, he said: “It will be very unfair, very unjust that we associate 1.6 billion with a few terrorist organisations.”

Trump
made the policy pledge following the mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, where a Muslim couple shot and killed 14 people in what authorities are investigating as an act of extremism, possibly inspired by the Islamic State militant group (ISIS). Republican rivals, Democrats and world leaders have roundly condemned his stance.

The 18-year-old Yousafzai, shot in the head in 2012 by the Taliban in Pakistan for advocating the right to education for women, organized the event in Birmingham to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the day Taliban militants attacked the Peshawar Army Public School that killed more than 150 people.

A number of schools will be closed today in Pakistan to mark the anniversary while a remembrance ceremony will be held at the school where the attack took place.
