Three Arrested in Belgium for Paris Attacks

By

Two women take part in a vigil to pay tribute to the victims of the Paris attacks, at Trafalgar Square in London, Britain November 14, 2015.

Updated | Police in Belgium arrested three suspects in Brussels on Saturday during raids related to the series of deadly attacks in Paris on Friday that killed at least 127 people and wounded hundreds, according to the AFP.

One of the suspects arrested in Belgium is believed to have been in Paris at the time of the attacks, officials said.

The arrests were connected to a car that had been rented in Belgium and found near Paris' Bataclan concert hall, where most of victims were killed on Friday. Police arrested the suspects in the Brussels district of Molenbeek, which has been linked to other previous terror plots.

Two of the eight attackers believed to have carried out the attacks have been identified as Ismaël Omar Mostefai and Abbdulakbak B., according to
French media. Earlier, police in France took the father and brother of Mostefai, who is a French national, into custody, AFPreported.

The 34-year-old brother of Mostefai reportedly contacted police and was taken in by authorities. The gunman was identified via a severed fingertip after his body was found at the Bataclan music hall, where dozens were killed when three men donning suicide vests opened fire on concertgoers.

Investigators are reportedly searching the homes of friends and family of Mostefai, whose father lives in the small town of Romilly-sur-Seine, 80 miles east of the French capital, AFP reports. Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said that Mostefai, who was reportedly from the Courcouronnes suburb in southern Paris, was known to be close to radical Islam.

French President Francois Hollande on Saturday blamed the Islamic State (ISIS) extremist group for the series of attacks in Paris on Friday that left at least 127 people dead, describing it as a "cowardly act of war."

Speaking in a television address, Hollande said: "The attacks were planned and organized from abroad with
help from inside France."

Following his comments, ISIS released an official written statement in French and Arabic and an audio statement in French claiming responsibility for the attacks. The group indicated that eight suicide bombers were involved in the operation and said the attacks were a response to French air strikes against "Muslims in the Caliphate," according to Rita Katz, the founder of U.S.-based online jihadi monitoring service
SITE Intelligence. The group said in the statement that "France remains at the top list of ISIS targets," she tweeted.

"Eight brothers carrying explosive belts and guns targeted areas in the heart of the French capital that were specifically chosen in advance," the statement reads. "The Stade de France during a match against Germany which that imbecile Francois Hollande was attending; the Bataclan where hundreds of idolaters were together in a party of perversity as well as other targets in the 10th, 11th and 18th arrondissements."

The Parisian prosecutor confirmed Saturday that the attacks left 127 people dead and 352 injured, with 99 in critical condition. Seven of the attackers were also confirmed dead, according to the Associated Press.

British government sources told the
BBC that the attackers were "members of a self-contained cell and had travelled to Syria."

A Syrian passport was found on the body of one of the suicide bombers who targeted the Stade de France in one of the attacks, two French police officials, speaking on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to speak to the media, told Associated Press. According to Reuters, the passport holder passed through the Leros, an island in Greece, on October 3rd.

Liberation
reports that an Egyptian passport was found on another suicide bomber who attacked the Stade de France.

Hollande announced that France will observe three days of national mourning and that he would address parliament on Monday.
Four gunmen shot and killed at least 87 people on Friday night when they entered the Bataclan concert venue during a set by the rock band Eagles of Death Metal, a Paris city hall official told Reuters. French commandos later stormed the building. Three of the gunmen then detonated explosive belts. Graphic footage obtained by French daily Le Monde showed people running for the Bataclan's emergency exit and climbing out of its windows during the attack.

Forty people were killed in five other attacks around Paris, which included a double suicide bombing outside the Stade de France football stadium where the French national team was playing Germany. Hollande was a spectator at the game.

Friday's attack is the worst to hit Europe since the 2004 Madrid bombings. At least 300 people were hospitalized and 80 of those remain in a critical condition, a Paris hospital confirmed to AFP news agency. It is the second mass killing that France has witnessed this year, after three attackers killed 18 people in Paris in separate attacks across three days in January.

ISIS released an undated video on Saturday calling on French Muslims to carry out attacks in the country in reaction to the French government's military campaign against the group in Syria and Iraq. The group's foreign media arm, Al-Hayat Media Center, released the video that featured a militant calling on French Muslims to carry out attacks.

"As long as you keep bombing you will not live in peace. You will even fear travelling to the market," said the Arabic-speaking militant.

Rumours circulated on social media that shots were fired on Saturday in Bagnolet in eastern Paris but French journalists reported that they were fireworks at a wedding. Paris' police department
tweeted: "Do not distribute or relay false information or false rumours."

Politicians and leaders around the world have been reacting to the attacks. Russia's President, Vladimir Putin, sent Hollande a telegram. "I would like to express my deepest condolences to you personally and all the people of France in connection with the death of a large number of civilians as a result of an unprecedented series of terrorist attacks in Paris," Putin wrote. "I would like to confirm that the Russian side is ready for the closest possible cooperation with French partners in the investigation of this crime committed in Paris. I expect that its paymasters and perpetrators will be punished."

Syrian state media quoted President Bashar al-Assad of Syria as saying: "What France suffered from savage terror is what the Syrian people have been enduring for over five years."

Obama’s vow to take in 10,000 Syrian refugees under fire after Paris attack

President Obama’s plan to accept 10,000 Syrian refugees is under fire after Friday’s terrorist attack in Paris, with one GOP presidential candidate saying the U.S. should halt its plans as long as it’s not able to assure Americans it can weed out potential terrorists.

The Islamic State, which controls significant territory in Syria, has claimed credit for the coordinated attacks, which have left 129 dead and 352 wounded in Paris — and had earlier claimed credit for downing a Russian jet over Egypt.

The Associated Press said a Syrian passport found near the body of an attacker was linked to a man who entered the European Union through a Greek island last month.

Sen. Ted Cruz, a Texas Republican who’s on the rise in the presidential campaign, said those events show the Islamic State, also known by the acronym ISIS, views itself at war with the U.S., and the Syrian refugee program Mr. Obama announced is a risk.

“We need to immediately declare a halt to any plans to bring refugees that may have been infiltrated by ISIS to the United States,” he said in a statement. “We need to redouble our efforts to prevent ISIS agents from penetrating our nation by other means.”

Fellow candidate Mike Huckabee went further, calling for a halt in all admissions of those coming from countries where the Islamic State or al Qaeda have a “strong presence.”

“During the debate last week, I stated that we should not admit those claiming to be Syrian refugees and was condemned by the left for that position. I was right, and the events in Paris affirm that,” Mr. Huckabee, a former Arkansas governor, said in a statement. “Even the far left and politically correct government of France has closed its borders. It’s time for a president who will act to protect Americans, not just talk and protect the image of Islam.”

Mr. Obama has ordered the U.S. to prepare to accept 10,000 Syrian refugees in 2016, with more expected in 2017, as he said Americans must do their part to help give a safety valve to the hundreds of thousands fleeing the war-torn region.

But officials have acknowledged vetting Syrians will be difficult because the U.S. does not have access to Syrian records, and it’s tougher to verify would-be refugees’ stories and backgrounds.

Much will depend on the in-person interviews conducted by Homeland Security officers — an area where officials insist they’ve become expert, thanks to experience vetting Iraqi refugees.

Early news reports out of Paris said a Syrian passport was found at the site of one of the attacks. And reports said Poland has already decided to suspend its participation in the European Union refugee program in the wake of the attack.

But refugee program defenders took to social media to urge that countries not stray from their commitments to taking in Syrians.

Some of the defenders said the violence in Paris is what the refugees are fleeing, and makes it all the more imperative to keep the programs going.

In the U.S., however, Mr. Obama was already having a tough sell. Some Republican members of Congress have proposed place restrictions on the refugee program as a condition in the major spending bill that’s expected to advance through Congress over the next month.

Sen. Charles E. Grassley, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said Congress should require the FBI and other counterterrorism officials certify their ability to vet refugees before the program goes into effect.

Spokespersons for Mr. Grassley and several other high-profile critics of the Syrian refugee program said Saturday it was too early to tell what effect the Paris attack would have on the debate.

Pope Francis calls Paris massacre part of ‘Third World War’

MEG WAGNERNEW YORK DAILY NEWS

Pope Francis condemned Friday night’s Paris massacre.

Pope Francis condemned Friday night’s Paris massacre, calling the attacks a part of a disorganized World War III.

“I am close to the people of France, to the families of the victims, and I am praying for all of them,” the pontiff said Saturday, according to the Vatican Radio. “I am moved and I am saddened. I do not understand — these things hard to understand.”

Francis called the wave of terrorist violence that killed at least 129 people “a piece” of the “piecemeal Third World War" and said the bloody rampage was "not human."

Chaos erupts as Paris comes under attack

“There is no religious or human justification for it,” he said when asked about the aforementioned war. “This is a piece of it.”

The Friday night attacks — at a soccer stadium, a concert hall and a row of trendy cafes — left at least 350 more wounded and marked the deadliest violence to strike France since World War II.

French President Francois Hollande said Saturday that ISIS was behind the carnage.

The wave of violence killed at least 127 people and wounded another 200.

The wave of bombing and gun attacks was an "act of war committed by a terrorist army, the Islamic State group, a jihadist army, against France, against the values that we defend everywhere in the world, against what we are: A free country that means something to the whole planet," he said Saturday.

ISIS also took responsibility for the bloodshed and vowed to keep France “at the top of the list” of its targets.

“The stench of death will not leave their noses as long as they remain at the forefront of the Crusaders' campaign, dare to curse our prophet, boast of a war on Islam in France, and strike Muslims in the lands of the caliphate with warplanes that were of no use to them in the streets and rotten alleys of Paris,” ISIS said in a statement.

From "Now The End Begins"

AMERICA, ARM YOURSELVES, AND PREPARE FOR THE COMING MUSLIM INVASION

"It is clear now that together with the victims of islamo-fascism in the middle east that come as refugees, extreme elements are crossing to europe," said greek defence minister panos kammenos today after an emergency meeting with prime minister alexis tsipras. Talk about an "a-ha!" moment, but sadly for the nearly 500 dead and wounded from yesterday, it arrived a tad too late.

ASK NOT WHAT AMERICA CAN DO FOR YOU, RATHER, PREPARE FOR
THE COMING MUSLIM INVASION

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Passed by Congress September 25, 1789. Ratified December 15, 1791.

Today we mourn with the people of France as they attempt to sift through the heartbreak of yesterday’s Islamic attack which left in the final count 129 souls dead and 352 hurt. But as we sorrow, we as Americans also view what happened not as an isolated incident, but as a harbinger of what is to come soon within our own borders. French police this afternoon made the connection that at least two of the gunmen were Muslim migrants from Syria who had registered in Greece.

“It is clear now that together with the victims of Islamo-fascism in the Middle East that come as refugees, extreme elements are crossing to Europe,” said Greek Defence Minister Panos Kammenos today after an emergency meeting with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. Talk about an “a-ha!” moment, but sadly for the nearly 500 dead and wounded from yesterday, it arrived a tad too late.

JACK VAN IMPE ON THE ISLAMIC INVASION OF AMERICA:

Here at NTEB, we have warned you
over, and over, and over again that Obama is filling America with the very same type of Muslim migrants who killed all those people yesterday. What you watched unfold in real-time last night in Paris, France is the exact same thing that is going to be happening in Paris, Texas. It is not speculation, it is a guarantee. The only thing that might prevent it from happening is if Donald Trump is elected as our next president, but regardless, we need to understand that there is a reason why our founding fathers gave us a Second Amendment. It has nothing to do with the “right to go hunting”, skeet shooting or any other such nonsense spouted by the liberals. The Second Amendment is the right of every American citizen to legally possess firearms to protect ourselves from all those who wish to do us harm, foreign and domestic.

You know what the Muslim terrorists knew when they attacked yesterday? They knew that they would be met with little or no resistance at least at the start because the French government and the European Union both impose extraordinarily strict restrictions on firearm possession by civilians. Europe, like all liberal societies, has spent years disarming the citizenry and as a result when terror attacks happen, the good people of the European Union are little more than sitting ducks used as target practice by the Muslims. Americans need to be paying very close attention to this and act accordingly.

Up until now, I have not felt the need to own a gun or get concealed weapons license. Yesterday’s events in Paris changed all that for me. Obama is doubling down on his plan to flood America with Muslim migrants, and like in France, many of them will be ISIS terrorists. One day, you will be having coffee at the local Dunkin Donuts, or watching your kid playing soccer, and you will hear the “pop-pop-pop” of semi-automatic fire and watch as people around fall down around you screaming. Someone will start shouting “Allahu Akbar!, Allahu Akbar!”, and the blood will run in the streets. Your blood, and my blood if we allow it.

I am not calling for revolution or riots in the street, no, nothing like that. What I am calling for is the exercise of our Constitutionally-guaranteed right found within the Second Amendment to be able to defend ourselves when the moment arises. But in order to defend yourself when it all starts to go down, you have to have previously prepared to do so.

America, the handwriting is certainly on the wall, and now is the time. What happened in France will happen here, Obama’s immigration policies make a Muslim invasion a certainty. You owe it to your loved ones to be able to defend them when the attacks happen. Like it or not, we are at war with Islam, the only question is who will win. Are you counting on your government to keep you safe? So were the people in France yesterday.

The Muslims are coming, and in fact are here already. It’s time to get prepared. I will write a series on my experience at the gun range.

Earth Changes Accelerate As 12 Major Earthquakes Hit Chile Within The Last 24 Hours

By Michael Snyder, on November 11th, 2015

Something strange is happening to our planet. Over the past 30 days, there seems to have been much more “shaking” than normal, and this is particularly true along the Ring of Fire. This afternoon I visited the official website of the U.S. Geological Survey, and I discovered that Chile had been hit with 12 major earthquakes within the last 24 hours alone. The smallest was of magnitude 4.4, and the two largest both measured magnitude 6.9. We have also seen dozens of volcanoes erupt recently, including the incredibly dangerous Mt. Popocatepetl in Mexico. Fortunately we have not seen a major disaster that kills thousands of people yet, but many believe that all of this shaking is leading up to one. In addition, the weather all over the world continues to get freakier and freakier. Just today, Yemen was hit by a second major tropical cyclone in less than a week. Any one of these strange disasters in isolation may not seem like that big of a deal, but when you start putting all of the pieces together it starts to become clear that something really significant is taking place.

So why are all of these things happening? Well, some experts point to the sun. In recent years there has been a tremendous amount of hype about “global warming”, but the truth is that evidence is starting to emerge that indicates that our sun might be heading into a period of “hibernation”

The sun will go into “hibernation” mode around 2030, and it has already started to get sleepy. At the Royal Astronomical Society’s annual meeting in July, Professor Valentina Zharkova of Northumbria University in the UK confirmed it – the sun will begin its Maunder Minimum (Grand Solar Minimum) in 15 years. Other scientists had suggested years ago that this change was imminent, but Zharkova’s model is said to have near-perfect accuracy.

And what did we see last winter? It was a very cold, bitter winter that set new all-time records all over the planet. Here is more from that same article

Solar cycle 24 – two cycles prior the cycle that’s expected to bottom out into a Maunder Minimum – was weak. In 2013-14 it reached its maximum far below average. Meanwhile extreme cold-weather anomalies have occurred around the world. Last year “polar vortices” slammed into the central US and Siberia as a third hovered over the Atlantic. All 50 US states, including Hawaii, had temperatures below freezing for the first time in recorded history. Snowfall records were broken in cities in the US, Canada, Italy, New Zealand, Australia, Japan and elsewhere. Southern American states and central Mexico, where snow is rare, got heavy snow, as did the Middle East.

This past summer the cold didn’t let up, with more temperature records across the US and rare summer snows seen in Canada, the US and China. Birds have migrated early in the last two years. Antarctic sea ice set a new record in 2013 and it was broken again in 2014.

Will this upcoming winter be similar?

Should we be anticipating a lot of cold and a lot of snow?

I have been watching stories like this for a couple of years. Our sun has begun to behave very erratically, and yet very few people are paying attention. But without the sun, life on earth would not be possible. So the fact that the giant ball of fire that we revolve around is starting to act very strangely should be a huge news story.

And this is not something that scientists have just started noticing. This has been going on for quite some time. For example, the following is from a BBC article that was published last year

I’ve been a solar physicist for 30 years, and I’ve never seen anything quite like this,” says Richard Harrison, head of space physics at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire.

He shows me recent footage captured by spacecraft that have their sights trained on our star. The Sun is revealed in exquisite detail, but its face is strangely featureless.

If you want to go back to see when the Sun was this inactive… you’ve got to go back about 100 years,” he says.

This solar lull is baffling scientists, because right now the Sun should be awash with activity.

Another thing that many scientists are watching closely is the possibility of a magnetic pole shift. This has become such a concern that even scientists at NASA are talking about it. A major news source in the UK recently published an article entitled “NASA: Earth’s magnetic poles are ‘switching’ with catastrophic consequences for humanity“, and the following was the most fascinating part of the story for me personally…

Bruce Jakosky, MAVEN principal investigator at the University of Colorado, Boulder, said when the switch does take place, the Earth’s magnetic field which prevents the Sun’s dangerous radiation getting through, would be neutralisedfor around 200 years.

He revealed the detail during an historic announcement about how Mars lost 99% of its atmosphere and its oceans that could have housed early life.

Mr Jakosky explained that Mars had been blasted by solar winds, which had stripped it of its atmosphere, for billions of years since the beginnings of our solar system.

He said: “When the polar shift happens the Earth will have no magnetic field for about 200 years.”

During that time the Sun’s solar blasts are expected to strip away at our atmosphere as they did on Mars billions of years ago.

That certainly doesn’t sound good.

How could humanity possibly survive if “the Earth will have no magnetic field” for 200 years?

Perhaps some would survive by living in underground facilities shielded from the sun. But certainly most of humanity simply would not make it.

Meanwhile, as I have written about previously, scientists tell us that the entire universe is “slowly dying“. Apparently the universe is only producing about half as much energy as it once did, and over time the level of energy being produced continues to fade.

Most of us just take for granted that our planet, our sun and our universe will remain stable and behave normally.

But what if we have entered a time when things start to change dramatically?

What if the years ahead are filled with earth changes of a magnitude that most of us cannot even possibly imagine?

What will that mean for our society and for the future of humanity?

Please feel free to join the discussion by posting a comment below…
