11th Holistic Doctor Found Dead: NYC Author & MD Mitchell Gaynor Found in the Woods

It is with great sadness that I, as gently as possible, break the news on an 11th doctor found dead in less than 90 days. I’ve tried to break each of them with as much tact as possible, under the circumstances. This has become an unintended series I wrote which I wish would have never happened. Most are holistic, many we knew and all are a great loss. Now we have the best selling author and Holistic Oncologist of 30 years, Dr. Mitchell Gaynor from NYC was found dead in the woods by his home in Upstate New York outside Manhattan.

There is an outpour of public support and love from his friends and colleagues who are posting about his tragic death on his personal page. His professional page and twitter page have been removed. Again, we knew Dr. Gaynor and have spoken to his staff personally in New York and they confirmed with us that Dr. Gaynor has died. I wish it were a hoax but it is not.

I had just read Mitchell Gaynor’s best selling book “The Gene Therapy Plan” a matter of months ago as we were given an advanced copy by him and were honored he took the time to send us one.

I am told that Dr. Gaynor apparently died a few days ago after walking away from a car accident. His body was discovered over the weekends (we are told) in the woods behind his country home upstate where he loved to walk.

I’d also had “Nurture Nature, Nurture Health” on my list, but hadn’t ever had a chance to read that one.

From his website about this cutting edge doctor who was healing cancer naturally:

Mitchell Gaynor, M.D., is Founder and President of Gaynor Integrative Oncology and Gaynor Wellness in New York City. A renowned pioneer in the field of integrative oncology for 30 years, Dr. Gaynor is author, physician, speaker and composer of original sound healing meditations. His latest book, “The Gene Therapy Plan – Taking Control of your Genetic Destiny Through Diet and Lifestyle” (due in April, 2015, from Viking Press with a Forward by Dr. Mehmet Oz) provides a revolutionary approach to reverse gene damage associated with aging, cancer, obesity, and diabetes and to prevent future gene deterioration with specific programs that are appropriate for anyone who wants to maximize longevity for themselves, their children and future generations.

Dr. Gaynor has a notable history in the treatment of chronic diseases, particularly cancer, with scientifically grounded therapies that augment traditional modalities.

I don’t know the details of the death yet. Then again , there are doctors who died months ago like Dr. Nick Gonzalez (also in NYC and Suzanne Somer’s doctor) whose website states that his autopsy results were inconclusive and it didn’t support that it was a heart attack like their initial belief.

As far as Dr. Gaynor? He’d been perfectly healthy as far as we knew, the last contact we had with him.

My heart goes out to friends and family and the many colleagues we have in common.

I also want to share a message with all of you: despite what Snopes has written about my articles- I’ve always maintained I don’t know if these are connected. We already have doctors reaching out to us today who are nervous because of the recent spate of deaths of holistic doctors- many of whom we knew. (Snopes actually attempted to debunk an article that was correct and quietly had to change their false info on their site)

So again, it’s always wise to stay aware (I say this to the holistic doctors who contact me- including my better half- one of the best know holistic doctors who is still hanging in there) but if we live in fear that can hurt our immune system and is no way to live either.

So be safe, be aware, but I hope you won’t be scared.

I’ll update you as soon as I know more and am just still in a little bit of shock right now.

Pope Francis arrives in Cuba amid high hopes for the nation

September 19, 2015

Pope Francis arrived in Havana Saturday afternoon to great fanfare at the beginning of a 10-day journey to Cuba and the United States.

Jubilant crowds welcomed history’s first Latin American pope, 73, to the island nation after he landed aboard an Alitalia flight from Rome. Applause and chants of anticipation could be heard as the airplane, with the Cuban and Vatican flags billowing above the cockpit, slowed to a halt on the runway.

Francis, an Argentine Jesuit, has been critical of both what he perceives to be the extremes of American capitalism and the atheism of Cuba’s revolution. But he also enjoys popularity in both countries, neither of which he had visited before.

Cubans laud the Argentine Jesuit for helping to restore diplomatic relations between the historically hostile countries. Last year, he personally appealed to U.S. President Barack Obama and Cuban President Raul Castro to end the half-century of enmity.

In his opening remarks, Castro said it was an honor to host Francis in their country and thanked him. But he also made more overtly political statements, lamenting the uneven distribution of wealth in the Americas.

“The present international system is immoral and unfair,” he said, as translated by The Guardian. “It has globalized capital and made its idol money.“

Then Francis, addressing the crowd, praised the progress made by the U.S. and Cuba, saying it could serve as an example of reconciliation for the entire world.

“For some months now, we have witnessed an event which fills us with hope,” Francis said,“ the process of normalizing relations between two peoples following years of estrangement.”

Viewers took to social media to chime in on opening moments of Francis’ historic visit.

Once again the Pope hits it out of the park.

The first native Spanish-speaking , @Pontifex just addressed crowds in , telling the nation to "open itself to the world."

"I urge political leaders to perserveres on this path and to develop all it potentialities.. It is time for reconcilation"

Weird, when this speaks of mercy, compassion, charity and inclusion, they say its a "NEW Message". But that defines Christianity!

Frei Betto, a Brazilian priest who is friends with Cuba’s rulers told reporters in Cuba that Francis helped re-establishment ties between the old Cold War enemies with tremendous skill.

“The pope has done so much, as a discreet statesman, to achieve this rapprochement,” Betto said.

A day before the flight, Francis asked his 7.15 million Twitter followers to pray for his trip to Cuba and the United States.

Pope likely to shift to pastoral message on 1st day in Cuba

Raw: Pope Francis Lands in Cuba

HAVANA (AP) — Pope Francis opens his first full day in Cuba on Sunday with what normally would be the culminating highlight of a papal visit: Mass before hundreds of thousands of people in Havana's evocative Revolution Plaza.

The morning Mass kicks off a busy day for Francis, including a formal meeting with President Raul Castro and a likely encounter with his 89-year-old brother, Fidel. Francis will finish the day with an evening vespers service in the San Cristobal cathedral and meet with Cuban young people.

Young and old turned out in droves Saturday to line Francis' motorcade route and welcome a man that many credit with helping bring about the thaw in relations between Cuba and the United States.

"This visit is like a breath of hope blowing over Cuba," Diego Carrera, a retiree, said as he awaited Francis at the start of a 10-day trip to the onetime Cold War adversaries.

Francis wrote a personal appeal to Presidents Barack Obama and Raul Castro and hosted their delegations at a secret meeting at the Vatican last year to seal a deal after 18 months of closed-door negotiations. Since then, the two leaders have reopened embassies in each other's countries, held a personal meeting and at least two phone calls and launched a process aimed at normalizing ties in fields ranging from trade to tourism to telecommunications.

Upon his arrival, Francis plunged head-first into the rapprochement, urging the Cuban and U.S. governments to push forward on their newly forged path and "develop all its possibilities."

The Vatican has long opposed the U.S. trade embargo on the grounds that it hurts ordinary Cubans most, and is clearly hopeful that detente will eventually lead to a lifting of sanctions.

But only the U.S. Congress can remove the embargo. Francis will visit Congress next week at the start of the U.S. leg of his trip, but it's not known if he will raise the issue there.

Standing with Raul Castro by his side, Francis said the developments over recent months have given him hope.

"I urge political leaders to persevere on this path and to develop all its possibilities as a proof of the high service which they are called to carry out on behalf of the peace and well-being of their peoples, of all America, and as an example of reconciliation for the entire world," he said.

Castro, for his part, criticized the embargo as "cruel, immoral and illegal" and called for it to end. But he also thanked Francis again for his role in fostering "the first step" in a process of normalizing relations.

The pope's message on Sunday is likely to be less political and more pastoral.

Francis has said he is coming to Cuba as a messenger of mercy, aiming to give solidarity to a long-suffering people and church.

The island's communist government never outlawed religion per se. But it came close, closing religious schools after Fidel Castro came to power in 1959, expelling priests and sending others to prison or work camps, including the current archbishop of Havana, Cardinal Jaime Ortega.

Castro began easing prohibitions on faith in the 1990s, removing constitutionally enshrined atheism ahead of a visit by Pope John Paul II and reinstating Christmas as a public holiday soon after.

The Catholic Church today has quietly established itself as practically the only independent institution with any widespread influence on the island. Expanding into areas once utterly dominated by the state, the church is providing tens of thousands of people with food, education, business training and even libraries stocked with foreign best-sellers.

But it still is seeking more freedom to spread the faith: Church authorities have long wanted to run full-time private schools and get religious programming on state-run airwaves, both of which the government has resisted

In his airport arrival speech, Francis said he hoped his visit would renew the bonds of friendship so the church can continue to do its job "with the freedom and the means necessary."

While most Cubans are nominally Catholic, fewer than 10 percent practice their faith.

Magaly Delgado, an accountant, said she would be at the Mass on Sunday because "I'm a believer and this pope interests me a lot because of all the change that he's making."

Sisi condemns "violations" at Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque

Cairo (AFP) - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Saturday urged Israel to take swift measures to calm tensions around Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque after clashes this week between Israeli security forces and Palestinians.

"It is without doubt a dangerous violation of Islamic holy places," Sisi said at a press conference with EU president Donald Tusk, urging Israel to take "immediate and effective steps" to defuse tensions.

"The international community must realise the attachment of all Muslims to this place," he said, warning that the unrest could have "grave consequences for peace and stability".

The mosque, located at the site of what Jews venerate as the Temple Mount, is in east Jerusalem, captured by Israel in the 1967 Six Day War.

The mosque compound is the third-holiest site in Islam and the most sacred site in Judaism.

Under longstanding regulations, Jews are allowed to visit but cannot pray there to avoid provoking tensions.

Palestinians fear Israel will seek to change rules governing the site, with far-right Jewish groups pushing for more access and even efforts by fringe organisations to erect a new temple.

Egypt shares a long border with Israel, and in 1979 became the first Arab country to sign a peace treaty with it after four wars with the Jewish state.

More than 1,000 homes destroyed by 2 California fires

More Heartbreak and Devastation From Calif. Fire

MIDDLETOWN, Calif. (AP) — The tally of homes destroyed by two massive Northern California wildfires topped 1,000 Saturday after authorities doing damage assessments in the Sierra Nevada foothills counted another 250 houses destroyed by flames still threatening thousands of more structures.

California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection spokesman Daniel Berlant said the count of 511 homes destroyed by the blaze burning for more than a week in Amador and Calaveras counties comes as firefighters make progress and damage-inspection teams have access to affected areas. Cal Fire had reported 252 homes destroyed as of Friday night by the fire that has charred 110 square miles.

"Some of the homes are tucked back in rural areas, so it's taken time to reach them," Berlant said.

The fire, which killed at least two people, was 67 percent contained but still threatening another 6,400 structures.

A separate blaze in Lake County, about 170 miles northwest, has destroyed 888 structures, at least 585 of them homes. It has killed three people.

Residents of Middletown, the area hardest hit by the massive wildfire in California, were allowed to return home Saturday afternoon. Evacuation orders for other areas in Lake County remained.

The Lake County fire tore through 62 square miles in 12 hours, causing thousands of residents to flee after it ignited a week ago. About 19,000 people were ordered to evacuate. The blaze had charred 116 square miles and was 50 percent contained Saturday.

Heat was descending again on the two deadly and destructive Northern California wildfires after a few days of fair and favorable conditions, raising fears that major gains could be undone.

"We're looking at predicted weather of 100 degrees for the next couple of days, and at least mid-90s throughout the weekend," Scott Mclean, a battalion chief with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, said Friday.

That makes it essential that the smoldering remains of the two giant blazes be dealt with as quickly and thoroughly as possible, Mclean said.

"You've got some high temps, high winds that could stir up those ash piles and those ember piles," he said. "We have to do that mop-up to be sure this fire goes to bed."

A number of survivors of the Lake County fire said they never got an official evacuation notice when the danger was at its peak a week ago.

Authorities defended their warnings and rescue attempts, saying they did all they could to reach people in the remote area of homes, many prized for their privacy.

"You may get that notice, or you may not, depending on how fast that fire is moving," Cal Fire spokeswoman Lynnette Round said. "If you can see the fire, you need to be going."
