We do have a Cracker Barrel about half an hour from where I live, so I am familiar with their food. I tried the fried apples once and they are delicious, but I try to eat healthier so usually order their pinto beans and cole slaw as my sides. However the fried apple recipe will serve as a good dessert. I will probably make it without the bacon drippings, though.
