THE SABBATH DAY: SATURDAY OR SUNDAY?
6/6/2010 7:54:59 PM

The Holy Bible says,

Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.

Six days you shall labor and do all your work,

but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God.

On it you shall not do any work,…. (Exodus 20:8-10).

Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy,

as the LORD your God has commanded you.

(Deuteronomy 5:12).

There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God;

For anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work,

just as God did from his. (Hebrews 4:9-10).

The Sabbath was on the seventh day, which is of course Saturday, not Sunday. I use the past tense because the laws concerning the Sabbath were under the Mosaic law, which no longer applies. Just as the sacrificing of animals is no longer required.
