I LOVE THIS!
I can picture the folks back then with so much hard work to do to survive-no time to waste on fancy names that meant nothing-so they told it like it was-and still do!
Funny-Funny
Thanks Linda

Linda, I am just following Joyce around right now. She is finding all these great forum posts. Thank you Joyce!

Love that about Texas! Very cute. They did not put a whole lot of time into thinking up names did they??

A recent favorite author lives in Texas and writes about a small town sheriff. There are 7 books on the subject and I have read most of them already. Bill Crider, Author.

Here in Kansas some of the small towns name all streets by tree names. Then, you have North St.,South St., West St., East St. - guess all places do that one.

Thanks for sharing the Texas Tales.

Sara
