Love heavy metal? Then you have to check out Hellborn Militia
5/7/2010 4:52:33 PM

Hellborn Militia is the epitome of the long lost art of heavy metal and this music preview we have a special guest, Joe Jaramillo. If you thought heavy metal was dead, then this is a taste of rebirth. If you loved metal music from the 80's and you liked music by Exodus, Slayer, Pantera, Metallica, Testament, Slipknot, and Death Dream Theater, then you'll love Hellborn Milita.

Listen to an exclusive 3-track preview with a special guest appearence with lead singer and guitarist, Joe Jaramillo:

Wow,

Where do you find them?

That was awesome.

As a frustrated 62 year old pretty poor drummer who would love to do some heavyM this was a lesson. Guitar work wonderful.

Thank you.

I'm so glad you enjoy these artists.

Yeah, well. I'm making a name for myself, so I've put myself in a position where the bands seek me out. I don't contact anyone unless they make the cut. I get about 25 submissions per week and I screen each artists based on Composition, Production, Arrangement, Performance, and Hit Potential.

For bands like Hellborn Militia sometimes, I'll make a special exception. It just depends on the music. They aren't the top band I would normally choose, but they just made the grade.

Besides, the band that was supposed to be featured today flaked on me, so I gave them the boot for breaching the contract. I may still put them on, but they have to give me what I ask for, like call-in during our scheduled interview date, plus answer my questionnaire.

It's not an easy business. Because I have the artists appear on the show, I plan weeks in advance. It's not like a radio station where I have a play list. The appearing artist is the playlist.

So, that's my job in a nutshell.

You're doing a great job.

With Heavy metal not being the most in-vogue style it takes a lot to get anyone stop and listen. I'm glad you did. There is some real talent here.

There are those who consider this music a noise and that poor players can hide behind others. Having had some experience I know that's not true and that there is some special talent here. The arrangement and balance is great. What more do you need to improve? Just a little more crispness on the vocals? Maybe, but it does compliment the style.
