I'm afraid that my Italian is somewhat lacking, however I do wonder if my second idea of LOTUS, as in Lotus Flowers was more along the lines of what you meant.

Yes, that's right. Down South here in the States, some of the good ole' Boys call them "Hen's Fruit".

They are indeed quite good when you add CREAM, especially if you add a little Cheese and a handful or two of crumbled

COBAN.
