Planetary Healing: Can Meditative Stillness Change the World? – Part 2

Continued from our discussion about meditative stillness.

It’s ironic that we require the effort we do to reach a place of simplicity and ease, but it’s only necessary because it’s so difficult for our minds to accept this simplicity, this nothingness. From this bareness, everything is created and flows harmoniously.

From zero point, from nothingness, everything is created and sustained under the absence of mental constructs like identity. Spiritual guides who speak to us appease our need for an identity, a label of who they are, but they’re waiting for us to understand that names and labels are human concepts that won’t follow us into a new era.

Inaction is the greatest action we can take after we start flowingly receiving the gifts of the divine. We create and experience a higher state of consciousness in our silence and stillness, and exiting mental reality is essential to reaching a place of stillness.

So far, we’ve explored the idea that effort is necessary at first to find personal and collective enlightenment. We’ve examined some quotes about the importance of being active in the initial stages of our growth, and now, we’re going to take a look at the flowing rewards we receive from the divine after we put in the effort.

In a more radical quote about zero point, Chuang Tzu tells us about “resting in inaction” before embracing nothingness/allness.

“You have only to rest in inaction and things will transform themselves. Smash your form and body, spit out hearing and eyesight, forget you are a thing among other things, and you may join in great unity with the deep and boundless… (1)

If everyone can do this, we’ll be able to change our planet with relative ease. By individually reaching zero point, perhaps we serve in a greater way than we think.

Maybe by reaching zero point, we anchor a purer vibration and make it easier for others to do the same. Maybe our energetic influence spreads to people who wouldn’t have otherwise been able to awaken, and our physical and spiritual effort combined could perhaps do the greatest good.

I can imagine billions of people finding a small degree of enlightenment and feeling driven to change the world, but I couldn’t begin to imagine what’ll happen when everyone reaches an advanced stage of enlightenment. Oh, the things we’ll do!

Bodhidharma tells us that transcending both motion and stillness is the highest form of meditation (note: an “arhat” is an enlightened Buddhist).

“To transcend motion and stillness is the highest meditation. Mortals keep moving, while arhats stay still. But the highest meditation surpasses that of both mortals and arhats. People who reach such understanding free themselves from all appearances without effort and cure all illnesses without treatment. Such is the power of great zen.” (2)

It’s fascinating to think that there are deeper levels beyond simple stillness.

If we employ stillness in our meditative pursuits, we’ll eventually unlock those deeper levels as we enjoy the flowing energy we’ll access. Stillness begets greater stillness as we grasp deeper and deeper states of consciousness, and we bring the divine and all of its bounty to us when we practice being anchored in zero point.

Master Lin Chi reinforces the importance of simplicity when we reach a state of flowing divine abundance.

“Followers of the Way, even if you can understand a hundred sutras and treatises, you’re not as good as one plain monk who does nothing.”

“When you get hungry, eat your rice; When you get sleepy, close your eyes. Fools may laugh at me, But wise men will know what I mean.” (3)

Simplicity is powerful in its own way.

By reaching zero point and being able to remain in a simple and humble place, we anchor a wealth of pure energy onto ourselves and the planet around us. We perceive reality in a greater way when we embrace humbleness and do away with the need to be impressed with “big” things, and we don’t even need to study spirituality to prosper.

Western society has conditioned a lot of people to feel like they need to be impressed or wowed, and this mindset blocks us from a purer perception that’s rooted in simplicity. Moving beyond the ego-driven need to be amazed with big displays will actually help us witness big displays. Ironic, isn’t it?

Ramana Maharishi tells us about achieving a “natural state of freedom from concepts”.

“[One should continue practicing] until the mind attains effortlessly its natural state of freedom from concepts, that is till the sense of ‘I’ and ‘mine’ exists no longer.” (4)

When we see beyond mindsets that are focused purely on the self, we start wanting to be of service in every way we can. We ask ourselves how we can serve the planet in the most helpful and effective way, and we severely decrease the amount of energy we give to thinking about ourselves and our wants.

It’s been said that serving others becomes a strong desire when we reach a higher vibration, and when we reach a state of identity-less existence, we’ll all be seen as one. We’ll understand the importance of working together to keep our existence sustained, and we’ll make much more progress than we do now.

“Da Free John” proposes that a flaw in many of the differentiated spiritual concepts is that they’re just that – differentiated.

“I saw that all kinds of seeking were founded in identification with a certain level of life, experience or motivation. The dilemma that was always involved was founded in a present act of differentiation, whereby what was constantly being realized was separated and threatened consciousness. Thus, I was not moved to pursue any goals, experiences or forms. All such things were merely matters of seeking. I did not even pursue my identity with Siva, Self or pure Consciousness.

Such was also a form of seeking.” (5)

It seems that by seeking identification in nothing, physical or spiritual, we can reach a much higher vibration. And of course, by doing so we spread a greater perception and raise the consciousness of others, which’ll eventually lead to planetary healing.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t identify with the spiritual concepts that you take comfort in or that resonate with you, and in fact, the mindsets those concepts breed serve as great avenues for the expression of a higher energy.

It’s simply that zero point; nothingness; whatever you want to call it, is empty of conceptualized ideas and this allows for a massive expansion to take place that might not be attainable otherwise.

As always, you’re encouraged to do what works for you and let everything else be. We’ll all find the higher vibrations in our own ways, and no two paths will be alike. It does seem like along the way, however, a lot of seekers use zero point to find enlightenment and awaken others.

Swami Chetananda tells us that self-surrender is the highest spiritual state we can reach.

“It is true that God helps those who help themselves; but it is equally true that God helps those who do not help themselves. According to most theistic religions, self-effort is essential for the beginners, while self-surrender is practiced by the advanced spiritual aspirants. Self-surrender is considered to be the highest state in spiritual life.” (6)

Throughout all of these quotes, the consensus continues to be that hard work in the beginning equates to smooth sailing as our consciousness rises. I don’t know about you, but this motivates me to put in the work needed before the divine energy can really flow through.

I feel like a child on the last week of school before summer vacation, or an office worker who’s about to retire and enjoy a better life. I’m excited to put in the work needed to reach a state of effortless flow, and I’m equally excited about the prospect of it being as simple (yet as complicated) as embracing a simple, humble existence.

We’ll enter heaven by exiting our mind-centered perception of ourselves, and in doing so, we’ll see everyone as integral facets of one conscious energy. We’ll understand our oneness, as well as our individualism and embodiment as humans of different races, and we’ll do away with division completely.

Obama announces NSA programs overhaul

President Barack Obama announced as expected on Friday a major overhaul to some of the National Security Agency’s most disputed surveillance operations seven months after they was first exposed, reining in the metadata collection program among others.

Effective immediately, the president said, NSA officials must obtain court permission in order to access the government’s archive of telephone metadata — a trove of intelligence that has been regularly collected by the government through a program that its proponents say is a legally sound and crucial counterterrorism tool justified under Section 215 of the United States Patriot Act.

Evidence of that program was exposed last June through classified documents disclosed to the media by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden and spurred an immediate and ongoing international discussion that cumulated with the president’s endorsement of reform during a Friday morning speech inside the Justice Department building in downtown Washington, DC.

“I believe we need a new approach,” Mr. Obama said. “I am therefore ordering a transition that will end the Section 215 bulk metadata collection program as it currently exists, and establishes a mechanism that preserves the capabilities we need without the government holding this bulk metadata.”

Exactly who will be in charge of holding onto the phone records pertaining to millions of Americans has yet to be decided, however, and Mr. Obama says he’s tasked United States Attorney General Eric Holder, the intelligence community and Congress with finding a solution.

Among the first of top-secret documents leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden since June is evidence that revealed the US government has regularly compelled the nation’s telecommunication companies for so-called metadata, in turn receiving on routine basis the primitive details about each and every phone call dialed. But while Mr. Obama and his administration has largely defended the program up to and during Friday’s speech, critics have condemned that program and others like it exposed by Mr. Snowden and have accused the government of violating the civil liberties and rights to privacy of not just Americans, but millions around the globe.

The president said during his address that he wouldn’t “dwell on Mr. Snowden’s actions or his motivations,” citing the ongoing investigation into the leaks, but insisted that when individuals who oppose government policy take it upon themselves to publically disclose classified information as the former contractor did, then the US government “will not be able to keep our people safe or conduct foreign policy.” WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, an ally of Snowden, told CNN that the leaker will respond to the new NSA reforms next week.

Other documents disclosed by Mr. Snowden since June have revealed NSA programs that target the communications of foreign persons, including average citizens and allied leaders alike. As expected, Obama announced his intent to reform some of those operations during Friday’s address as well.

Revelations that the NSA had tapped the personal phones of foreign leaders like German Chancellor Angela Merkel caused outrage around the world last year, but on Friday’s speech Mr. Obama said that the US is the “world’s only superpower” and must continue to conduct operations allies are not able to accomplish on their own.

“We will not apologize simply because our services may be more effective,” the president said, “but heads of state and governments with whom we work closely . . . should feel confident that we are treating them as real partners.”

The US government “will continue to gather information about the intentions” of foreign governments, the president said. On the contrary, though, he also promised the NSA “will not monitor the communications of heads of state” atop the ranks of allied partners unless there are compelling national security purposes at stake. Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) will be subjected to new reform as well, he said, allowing the government to intercept the communications of overseas targets with important information without putting as many Americans and foreign persons incidentally targeted under the looking glass.

More of the president’s new plans involve activity at home, however, including reformations meant to address concerns with how the government collects an array of intelligence gathering operations that may at times turn up the details pertaining to US persons.

Some of the issues touched upon by Mr. Obama during Friday’s address are included in a presidential policy directive published earlier that morning:

In announcing changes to metadata program carried out through Sec. 215, Mr. Obama said, “I believe critics are right to point out that without proper safeguards, this type of program could be used to yield more information about our private lives and open the door to more intrusive bulk collection programs in the future.” His administration will begin immediately working towards transferring possession of those records away from the NSA, the president added, while at the same time significantly cutting down the number of persons whose information is collected.

“Effective immediately,” he added, “we will only pursue phone calls that are two steps removed from a number associated with a terrorist association.” Until now the US government has given itself the authority to investigate the conduct of people separated by three steps, or “hops,” from a targeted number. Last year, the American Civil Liberties Union claimed that a person with 40 contacts in their mobile phone address book could be connected to roughly 2.5 million others using the “three hops” rule.

Last month, a five-person review group handpicked by Pres. Obama after the dawn of the Snowden leaks released their findings with regards to how they believe the federal government should reform the NSA’s programs. Although the president heeded only a fraction of those, according to promises made during Friday’s address, he did also endorse significant changes to other surveillance programs that have struck a chord among civil libertarians.

National Security Letters, or NSLs, for instance, can be sent by federal agents to private businesses in order to compel them to provide specific information about certain customers without that targeted person ever being told they are under investigation. “We can and should be more transparent as to how the government uses this authority,” the president said from the DoJ headquarters, and in an effort to do as much he has directed Attorney General Holder to amend how NSLs are currently used.

Mr. Obama also announced that he’s asked Congress to establish a panel of advocate from outside of government to provide an independent voice before the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, or FISC, which authorizes in secret wiretaps and similar spy operations under what critics call little-to-no oversight.

We have the potential to do great things, and in this time of widespread transformation, more people are acting on their potential as they see that a lot needs done to build a new world.

A lot of people take inspiration from the conscious pioneers of the past, and as long as we understand that we can tap into the same power they did, we’ll build on their work. We can expand what’s already been done, and our progress will be determined by the amount of focus we give to the tasks at hand.

The old, familiar road of inaction is in our sight, but just beyond it lies a new road of inspired action and progress. Both roads are there for us to take, and we’re being asked to choose which one we want in this crucial phase of our spiritual evolution.

How inspired do you feel to change the planet? Is it just a neat idea that you enjoy advocating, or are you prepared to offer all of yourself to it? Are you prepared to throw yourself into the transformation of our current paradigm?

These questions are important, in my opinion, because the world’s still in need of change and we aren’t getting any younger. Change is far from unattainable, because consciousness has risen immensely in the past few decades and will continue to.

People will continue to become aware that the few in power have worked against us, and in doing so, they’ll start focusing on the things we can do to welcome a positive future. The common man has been taught to believe in limitation, but discovering our true power will motivate us to be a massive force for change.

As we take the reins of control from the powers that were, we’ll see that they aren’t solely responsible for our problems.

They’ve done a lot of nasty things in pursuit of a worldwide empire rooted in suppression and domination, but they didn’t solely cause the division of humanity. They’ve certainly flaunted and enforced a divisive mindset, but when it comes down to it, we accepted the idea that we’re different from each other.

The rule of the one percent can’t stop us from coming together and reestablishing justice, harmony and prosperity, but we can stop ourselves. If you think about it, how many people beyond the conscious public have even considered the idea of coming together?

Why aren’t justice, unity and prosperity talked about in the mainstream media like they are in the alternative? With the unfortunate condition our planet’s in, why aren’t more people talking about what we can do to fix things?

In my opinion, it comes down to the fact that we’ve been distracted and led away from our true purpose: living together in harmony and progress. Western society is littered with distraction and unawareness, but as consciousness continues to rise, this will change.

As everyone wakes up and gets active, be it in a political, spiritual or environmental sense, the distraction that once inhibited us will be no more. Carelessness will be replaced with an unending drive to nurture our planet, and we’ll get a lot done.

We’ll enjoy the end result, because we’ll have acted on our potential and propelled forward. From here on out, I envision years; decades; centuries of progress. I envision a utopian society being built as we branch out and explore the vast cosmos, but we can’t progressively explore space until we clean up our mess here.

We can’t progress like we really want to until we address and mend our problems, but when everyone understands their power and the importance of getting to work, we’ll take our first steps toward a new paradigm.

Honest people who have an interest in helping run the planet fairly will offer their service to a welcoming humanity, and artists will thrive like never before. When the burning flame of inspiration and action is lit worldwide, creativity will expand to new heights and we’ll start impressing each other.

Refined creativity is a natural result of raising our vibration, and the idea of the world blossoming with passionate artists excites me.

Everyone will tap into their inner reserve of creativity, and the love of the heart space will be expressed with art and a passionate governing of society. Everyone will have a say in the decisions that are made, and geopolitical conspiracies against the people will be exposed and done away with.

This incredible future starts with the recognition of our potential, and the longer we wait to get to work, the longer it’ll be before we progress is made.

It’s been said that serving others becomes a strong desire when we reach a higher vibration, and when we reach a state of identity-less existence, we’ll all be seen as one. We’ll understand the importance of working together to keep our existence sustained, and we’ll make much more progress than we do now. “Da Free John” proposes that a flaw in many of the differentiated spiritual concepts is that they’re just that – differentiated. “I saw that all kinds of seeking were founded in identification with a certain level of life, experience or motivation. The dilemma that was always involved was founded in a present act of differentiation, whereby what was constantly being realized was separated and threatened consciousness. Thus, I was not moved to pursue any goals, experiences or forms. All such things were merely matters of seeking. I did not even pursue my identity with Siva, Self or pure Consciousness. Such was also a form of seeking.” (5) It seems that by seeking identification in nothing, physical or spiritual, we can reach a much higher vibration. And of course, by doing so we spread a greater perception and raise the consciousness of others, which’ll eventually lead to planetary healing. I’m not saying you shouldn’t identify with the spiritual concepts that you take comfort in or that resonate with you, and in fact, the mindsets those concepts breed serve as great avenues for the expression of a higher energy. It’s simply that zero point; nothingness; whatever you want to call it, is empty of conceptualized ideas and this allows for a massive expansion to take place that might not be attainable otherwise. As always, you’re encouraged to do what works for you and let everything else be. We’ll all find the higher vibrations in our own ways, and no two paths will be alike. It does seem like along the way, however, a lot of seekers use zero point to find enlightenment and awaken others. Swami Chetananda tells us that self-surrender is the highest spiritual state we can reach. “It is true that God helps those who help themselves; but it is equally true that God helps those who do not help themselves. According to most theistic religions, self-effort is essential for the beginners, while self-surrender is practiced by the advanced spiritual aspirants. Self-surrender is considered to be the highest state in spiritual life.” (6) Throughout all of these quotes, the consensus continues to be that hard work in the beginning equates to smooth sailing as our consciousness rises. I don’t know about you, but this motivates me to put in the work needed before the divine energy can really flow through. I feel like a child on the last week of school before summer vacation, or an office worker who’s about to retire and enjoy a better life. I’m excited to put in the work needed to reach a state of effortless flow, and I’m equally excited about the prospect of it being as simple (yet as complicated) as embracing a simple, humble existence. We’ll enter heaven by exiting our mind-centered perception of ourselves, and in doing so, we’ll see everyone as integral facets of one conscious energy. We’ll understand our oneness, as well as our individualism and embodiment as humans of different races, and we’ll do away with division completely. Concluded in Part 3 next week. 	JANUARY 19, 2014 BY WES ANNAC It’s Time to Get to Work Written by Wes Annac, the Aquarius Paradigm We have the potential to do great things, and in this time of widespread transformation, more people are acting on their potential as they see that a lot needs done to build a new world. A lot of people take inspiration from the conscious pioneers of the past, and as long as we understand that we can tap into the same power they did, we’ll build on their work. We can expand what’s already been done, and our progress will be determined by the amount of focus we give to the tasks at hand. The old, familiar road of inaction is in our sight, but just beyond it lies a new road of inspired action and progress. Both roads are there for us to take, and we’re being asked to choose which one we want in this crucial phase of our spiritual evolution. How inspired do you feel to change the planet? Is it just a neat idea that you enjoy advocating, or are you prepared to offer all of yourself to it? Are you prepared to throw yourself into the transformation of our current paradigm? These questions are important, in my opinion, because the world’s still in need of change and we aren’t getting any younger. Change is far from unattainable, because consciousness has risen immensely in the past few decades and will continue to. People will continue to become aware that the few in power have worked against us, and in doing so, they’ll start focusing on the things we can do to welcome a positive future. The common man has been taught to believe in limitation, but discovering our true power will motivate us to be a massive force for change. As we take the reins of control from the powers that were, we’ll see that they aren’t solely responsible for our problems. They’ve done a lot of nasty things in pursuit of a worldwide empire rooted in suppression and domination, but they didn’t solely cause the division of humanity. They’ve certainly flaunted and enforced a divisive mindset, but when it comes down to it, we accepted the idea that we’re different from each other. The rule of the one percent can’t stop us from coming together and reestablishing justice, harmony and prosperity, but we can stop ourselves. If you think about it, how many people beyond the conscious public have even considered the idea of coming together? Why aren’t justice, unity and prosperity talked about in the mainstream media like they are in the alternative? With the unfortunate condition our planet’s in, why aren’t more people talking about what we can do to fix things? In my opinion, it comes down to the fact that we’ve been distracted and led away from our true purpose: living together in harmony and progress. Western society is littered with distraction and unawareness, but as consciousness continues to rise, this will change. As everyone wakes up and gets active, be it in a political, spiritual or environmental sense, the distraction that once inhibited us will be no more. Carelessness will be replaced with an unending drive to nurture our planet, and we’ll get a lot done. We’ll enjoy the end result, because we’ll have acted on our potential and propelled forward. From here on out, I envision years; decades; centuries of progress. I envision a utopian society being built as we branch out and explore the vast cosmos, but we can’t progressively explore space until we clean up our mess here. We can’t progress like we really want to until we address and mend our problems, but when everyone understands their power and the importance of getting to work, we’ll take our first steps toward a new paradigm. Honest people who have an interest in helping run the planet fairly will offer their service to a welcoming humanity, and artists will thrive like never before. When the burning flame of inspiration and action is lit worldwide, creativity will expand to new heights and we’ll start impressing each other. Refined creativity is a natural result of raising our vibration, and the idea of the world blossoming with passionate artists excites me. Everyone will tap into their inner reserve of creativity, and the love of the heart space will be expressed with art and a passionate governing of society. Everyone will have a say in the decisions that are made, and geopolitical conspiracies against the people will be exposed and done away with. This incredible future starts with the recognition of our potential, and the longer we wait to get to work, the longer it’ll be before we progress is made. 	From Here to Eternity: Views of an Archangel – Part 2/2 Posted by Steve Beckow on January 19, 2014 (Continued from Part 1.) Archangel Michael is very tender in his love. After Dec. 21, 2012, when I was feeling depressed and conflicted, he said: “I’m asking you, no, not as public figure, but as friend, before we even begin, to come and to sit with me in sacred union … to relinquish and to give to me any concern, dismay, despair, anything that is not of wholeness. I come this day fully prepared, my friend, to speak to you and to answer your queries.” (1) On this occasion I also did what Spiritualists call “testing the spirits.” I asked him if he was aware of a conversation that another member of the team had just had with Grener. He surprised me by saying: “I am aware of pieces of it, yes. I do not eavesdrop on every conversation.” (2) I asked him to repeat what he had heard and he repeated the conversation almost verbatim. But again his acknowledgment that archangels did not eavesdrop on any conversation was another insight into life on the higher dimensions. In that same reading, I continued grumbling and reminded him that he had promised me his darshan (appearance) which produced this interesting rejoinder: “For my full presence to suddenly apparit [appear] would probably cause you to drop dead.” I laughed and said that that could have advantages. He responded: “Yes, it would. But that is not our plan.” (3) Once, when he was discussing the tendency of lightworkers to do it their way, he acknowledged, again remarkably: “Even with us of the archangelic realm or the angelic realm, there is the tug of war that always happens with the ego, with the delightful personality, the push and pull that says, ‘But I want to do it my way. I know that my way is the best way. You do not understand. You are not here. You are not suffering on Earth. You do not know what time-frames look like. You do not know….’ “We go through this all the time, and it is anticipated, it is expected, and it is part of the process of letting go and allowing yourselves to come into that full alignment so that the choices, the actions, the sense of connection is direct and with One.” (4) There are innumerable angels in incarnation at the present time, numerous archangels, some seraphim and even some elohim. I asked him if one prominent lightworker was an avatar and he replied: “No, but she is very enlightened.” I asked if there was a name for her type of individual – an elohim, a Melchizedek? And he responded: “You can think of her as an elohim.” (5) Well, if I can think of her as an elohim, that seems to imply that there are rungs of evolution equivalent to the elohim that we don’t know about. He discussed incarnated archangels on another occasion and outlined an instance in which an archangel had assumed a composite form, taking with him contributed elements from an ascended master, who was also the head of a planetary council. On the matter, he added: “An archangel can give energy [and] can hold energy.” (6) In the case in question, the archangel incorporated the energy of the ascended master with a fragment of his own to form the incarnate composite being or hybrid. Further of interest was the fact that he described the ascended master as himself “a collective soul”! “There are various aspects to [him], even more than what you would think of as a singular soul.” (7) He explained how the archangel “borrowed” from the ascended master for his present incarnation. “Think of it in this way. Say that [ascended master] is a billion atoms of energy. Well, he has some cash to spare and so he shares it. So the incarnated archangel is carrying some of that energy. Now what human beings don’t fully understand, you are beginning to and it is the Mother’s teaching that is helping with this and her gift of course of clarity. But in that single atom is everything – all the patterning, all the DNA, all the information. “So when we say that the archangel has part of him, he has part of that billion, and so [the ascended master] is fully participating.” (8) I once asked him why an incarnated archangel might not have any sense of being one and he responded: “Because they have agreed to be human.” And what do they give up by agreeing to be human? He replied: “Huge portions of memory.” Was there anything else? “Yes – and of course many of these qualities will be restored – but the ability for instantaneous creation. “But their qualities will expand. That is what they have forfeited as it were – sacrificed, put on hold. The deepest connection and knowing of the unification and the presence of all – that is the greatest sacrifice.” (9) Finally who would not want to hear the following feedback from their boss – that they would be in partnership from here to eternity? Can you imagine the impact on me of hearing these words? “It is not just love that we share. It is service to the Mother. It is this unyielding, undying, eternal commitment to her service. “And my trust in you is unwavering, that if we did not speak for a thousand years, you would know, not think, not feel, but know that I am right next to you. Sometimes I am typing. Sometimes I am moving your pen. Always I am whispering in your ear.” (10) When in past ages have humans had a chance to know details like these about an archangel? When have we had a chance to work so closely and intimately with one? We’re so privileged in this epoch to have this kind of contact, contact freely offered by beings who can be in a million places at once. And I think they want to be known – for many reasons. They want us to work with them. It isn’t given to them to do all the work. If they did so, there would be no evolution, no development for us. It’s we who are tasked with building Nova Earth and they who are tasked with encouraging and empowering us. And we couldn’t have better advisers and supporters as we go about our mission in the run-up to Ascension.
