	Hi Luis, Thank you for not being offended. I will admit that the meat that we buy today does not taste as good as it did when I was growing up. My father was a butcher, and he would often bring home fresh beef. This was before the processing method of draining all the blood out. That was when the meat had plenty of flavor. He also got me interested in Blood pudding which was a sausage type of by product. Blood. Excuse me for a moment. I have to retract my fangs. I no longer eat Blood Pudding. When they began to extract all the blood out of blood pudding, it just didn't seem to be the same. We all have our beliefs, and I don't believe that anyone is right or wrong on these matters. Life styles are either what we are brought up to believe, or beliefs that we develop along the way. As far as killing an animal for food, I don't believe that I could do that. 	Hi again Mike, With regard to your other post, strange as it may seem after all the evidence for it, I am not even sure that there is life on other planets or, at least, I am not sure about the kind of life that they can sustain. This because even now the Earth keeps appearing pretty unique to me as a planet. To begin with, the Earth has a unique satellite, the Moon, which rotates around itself in the same period of time that it orbits the Earth: this makes it show the same face to us continuosly, with the other face in perpetual darkness. And this, in turn, makes the gravitational influence of the Earth slow down the Moon’s rotation, with the much smaller gravitational influence of the Moon creating the Earth’s tides and other interesting cycles, both on a daily and on an approximately monthly basis, and affecting humans, animals and plants alike. To be sure, the Earth and the Moon act as a giant couple joined in a cosmic dance as they, together, orbit the Sun. And talking about the Sun, did you know the distance from the Earth to the Sun is very approximately 108 times the Sun's diameter? And that the distance from the Earth to the Moon is, also very approximately, 108 times the diameter of the Moon? This incredible coincidence makes, in turn, the Sun and Moon appear to a human observer as if they are the same size - which they, of course, are not. And there is the additional circumstance that this number 108, which among other things is most sacred among Hindus and Buddhists, multiplied by certain factors produces interesting magnitudes which particularly involve all the great cosmic cycles and ages. From this point on I have adapted an article that I posted at NewAgeU.com about ten months months ago: "Most important among these magnitudes is the length of the cycle of precession of the equinoxes, traditionally calculated as 25,920 common years (108 x 240), and the period of time required for the Earth’s axis projection to describe, responding to the motions of rotation and wobbling of the planet while orbiting the Sun, a full circle and return to its exact point of departure so that the equinoctial point, one of the two times of the year in which the night and the day are of identical length, turns out to be the same as it was at the beginning of the period. So it is this cycle of precession of the equinoxes, and the seasonal variations it creates, which ultimately facilitated the development of agriculture over the years and centuries. This explains the importance it had for the ancient priestly castes – not to mention its gravitation in the development of astronomy – who would make it a point of predicting the exact yearly dates of both the solstices and equinoxes. Beyond the yearly cycle, that which makes the precession of the equinoxes particularly important as a trigger of the human phenomenon in our planet is the fact that when one half of it has elapsed, i.e. after 12,960 common years (108 x 120), the seasons become reversed. For example, 10,000 years ago, when the Earth was at its farthest from the Sun, in the northern hemisphere it was summer and not winter, as is today; and vice versa, when the Earth was at its nearest from the Sun, in the same hemisphere it was winter and not summer as today. The cycle of precession of the equinoxes (Archive) Over the past millennia, the cycle of precession of the equinoxes, acting coordinately with (1) the earth’s eccentricity cycle, which is caused by the lengthening of its orbit around the sun, which in turn produces the ice ages in the course of approximately 90,000 – 100,000 years; and (2) the cycle of variation of the earth axis' tilt in the course of approximately 40,000 years, has been subjecting the Earth to a very complex astronomical pattern which has caused the ice fluctuations throughout the ages. More precisely, it has played a crucial role in the economy and the cultural development of the present humanity. For example, it is known that 40,000 – 50,000 years ago, when the southern hemisphere was the nearer one from the Sun and ice gravitated on the North, there emerged in certain areas of Central Asia tribes united by the need to face the prevailing hard geophysical conditions; and thirteen thousand years later, when the northern and southern hemispheres had exchanged their positions before the Sun, some tribes appeared in the southern hemisphere as well. Since then there would have been a slow, painful material progress of mankind toward the present-day civilization, which does not remember a thing about it, and whose decline and imminent disappearance are predicted in turn by many scholars. The three great astronomical cycles (Archive) Do I need to add that in times of profound, total global crisis as we are living now, and as dreadful events follow each other in an unheard-of number but at an ever accelerating speed on the whole planet, ominous prophesies related to the end time stipulated in the Maya Calendar and prophesied by all of the world major religions and esoteric traditions begin at last to make sense? I am afraid this one question is not exactly far-fetched. With regard to the ancient notions of a world axis and a center of the universe, we find among the Hindu doctrines the notion that it is only from this planet that God and the supreme destination can be attained. That is, only those perfected humans who are at last born on this "intermediate" planet Earth, after countless re-incarnations in both the heavenly and the hellish planets, and either as a reward or a punishment for their good or bad past actions, are entitled to reach God and his supreme abode in the highest heavens. For their part, the inhabitants of both the higher and the lower planets, angels and demons alike, must be reborn on this Earth and build enough merit before they can become again eligible for such supreme goal. As the third age or yuga was coming to an end and the fourth and worst age, the Age of Kali (which, in the descriptions from the Hindu scriptures, corresponds exactly to the Iron Age of the classical tradition) was about to start, virtuous beings from the higher and more advanced planets of the universe are said to have come to witness the ages' shift. They apparently were not so much interested in watching the ominous signs, visible everywhere, of the incoming era, but rather in assessing how the Earth was likely to perform in the course of it – perhaps even help us see the end of it. And since they considered the Earth’s position, according to what has just been mentioned, to be central with regard to the possibilities of promotion to the supreme destination, their interest was quite understandable. Even in the light of all the above information, I am afraid this time that the following few highly speculative questions will seem a little bit crazy – if not totally mind-boggling – to many. For example, can it be that the Earth is at this moment the center of the universe because of the reasons expounded and of the unprecedented situation it is in with regard to its own survival? Note that the Earth’s survival is at the same time our own survival and that of the other life it nurtures and fosters, a fact that is at the root of that great ancient notion of it as a huge living organism we are all a part of. Common to all of the world’s traditional cultures, this awesome conception allows one to think of the Earth as a unique and irreplaceable mother for us, human beings, and for a vast majority of the animals and plants who thrive on it, who would just perish in any other environment without survival devices; it also supports my personal disbelief at the possibility of any human-like extraterrestrial life. In other words, the fact that we are one with the Earth as our mother, together with the fact that our own survival and cultural development as both individuals and human race have been made possible by the fatherly influence of the three great astronomical cycles just mentioned, also makes us unique in the universe. Is there any possibility that our having brought the Earth and ourselves to the brink of disaster is more and more attracting attention from all quarters of the universe, particularly among good-willed extraterrestrials desirous to witness the outcome of such a big inconsideration and eventually help us find our way out? This one is certainly not new, and according to many celebrated authors, Hindu and Buddhist instructors, New Age adepts and channelers, UFO sighters, millions of ordinary people, and a long etcetera, that is more or less exactly the case. Let us take, for a moment, the Hindu scriptures’ statement to be true. Now that such end appears to be at hand their interest must have increased, and beyond that, it is even possible that they could be acting out of pure love and concern with our well-being and salvation, which I sincerely hope. Are they not supposed to be angelic beings? This apocalyptic possibility, contemplated in the Book of Revelation and other eschatological literature, is indeed most sinister; and for all we know it might already be occurring, as some pessimistic contend. In the face of it, we only have the promise in those holy texts and other written and oral traditions that such an awful event will be easily dealt with by the Lord and his divine forces, the good extraterrestrials, in the very end of the cycle, just before the new age, the Golden Age, begins. CAUTION: The fact that I am posting this Yahoo! yearly review here doesn't mean that I agree with all of it it as a whole. But let me tell you that while most of its contents is as we could expect to find on any msm release, some of it even the usual frivolous subject, it nevertheless is an excellent news report at least as far as some of its items are concerned.

Several game-changing events lay ahead in the coming year, but the end of the world isn't one of them. Digital clues

We'll put it right out there: The world is not scheduled to end in 2012, not even according to the ancient Maya.

Following a tumultuous 2011, the year 2012 holds the promise of several life-changing -- or at least game-changing -- events. Thank goodness we'll have an extra day in the leap year to deal with it all. To help you prepare for the new year, we talked to experts across many disciplines to get their insights into what the next 12 months will bring.

We told you so? Future forecasts may get more accurate, thanks to social media. Updates from Twitter, Facebook, and the like will give scientists and other experts more data to pore over when they attempt to accurately predict what comes next. But, as David Pennock and Duncan Watts of Yahoo! Research caution, always beware those who claim to see into the future, because sometimes a prediction is just coincidence.

The return of La Nina. The weather system known as La Nina is going to hang around for a bit, and it's likely to bring heavy snowfall to the upper Midwest, more floods to flood-battered northern states, and more heat waves to drought-weary southern states. Thanks to the Earth's warming atmosphere, says a U.S. Geological Survey associate director, major storms are likely to be intense and violent, wreaking havoc around the country.

A blockbuster with teeth. Yahoo! Movies editor Jon Crow says that the year will be packed with blockbusters featuring big-screen heroes like James Bond and Spider-Man. The powerhouse, though, might be the final film installment of the "Twilight" series in November, as newlywed and new mother Bella Cullen adapts to her profoundly altered life. What will Twihards do when they don't have Team Jacob or Team Edward to root for? Could it be the end of the world?

Flirty fashion. Women will welcome the chance the float around in flirty, feminine dresses and skirts that will be all the rage in the fashionable world. As more soldiers return home from Afghanistan, observes stylist and Yahoo! fashion blogger Ariel Kaiser, fashionistas will ditch their military jackets and boyfriend jeans for girlie looks, a la the late '40s.

Social networking pays. Consumers will be able to buy these things directly on their smartphones, and they will receive tailor-made advertisements on their phones as they walk by stores. A leading international librarian inspired by "Megatrends" gives seven tech trends, and look out: This looks to be the year that social networking will fuse itself to commerce, as new payment systems start to challenge the dominance of credit cards.

A mild market rally. The stock market looks to be rather low-key. Matt Nest, co-host of Yahoo! Breakout, predicts the Dow will experience a meager rally, as much as 10% overall. Home prices and unemployment rates shouldn't get much worse -- even though they aren't likely to get a whole lot better.

Heated Olympic competition. An exciting drama is scheduled for the 2012 London Olympics this summer, with a potentially epic showdown between two American swimmers vying for the most gold medals. Yahoo! Sports columnist Martin Rogers has his goggles trained on Beijing Olympics record-breaker Michael Phelps and gifted upstart Ryan Lochte.

The Afghanistan question. The plan to withdraw one-third of American forces from Afghanistan by September is shrouded with uncertainty. Afghan President Hamid Karzai is now requesting that U.S. forces stay another decade, while the Pakistani government is outraged by recent NATO border attacks that killed 24 of its soldiers. If the withdrawal is not handled delicately, the region could devolve into chaos and civil war, as anti-American sentiments escalate. But this scenario may be avoided if President Obama puts sound policy ahead of politics, says the former director of the Counterinsurgency Training Center in Kabul.

Facing Obama. Statisticians have President Obama at a slight advantage to win the presidential election, but it's still unclear who he will face. Herman Cain recently suspended his campaign, and now pundits are turning their attention to Newt Gingrich. However, number-crunchers say that most likely that Mitt Romney will be Obama's opponent -- and Yahoo! Research economist David Rothschild will keep running those numbers year-long for the Signal.

12/21/12. Perhaps the most anxiously awaited event of the year is winter solstice, happening on December 21, 2012. That's when the Mayan long-form calendar reaches its end. While scholars, scientists, and New Age gurus agree that this does not mean the cataclysmic end to the world as we know it, they disagree about what might happen on that day.

	The title of this supposedly last page in the Yahoo! Yearly Review may impress you, but I am afraid it is, as you pretty soon will discover, a downright derisive, to say the least, article. (But take a look at the next post.) 2011 YEAR IN REVIEW 10. End Times Don't panic. Yes, another Mayan inscription referencing December 21, 2012, has been found, this one at Comalcalco, Mexico. Previously, the only known reference to this date was a Mayan stone tablet found at nearby Tortuguero. The Tortuguero inscription says that Mayan god Bolon Yokte, a deity of war and creation, will arrive at that time. But scholars and scientists insist that this does not mean the world is ending. In fact, the National Institute of Anthropological History in Mexico just assembled a group of experts to combat the rising hysteria. The institute issued a statement that read, "The West's messianic thinking has distorted the world view of ancient civilizations like the Mayans." If you speak to anyone who knows anything about the Mayan calendar, they will tell you the ancient Maya believed the gods had a changing of the guard every 20 years. So, the arrival of Bolon Yokte would not mean the apocalypse. So say New Age gurus, NASA scientists, and serious scholars -- like etchings specialist Erik Velasquez, who recently told Reuters that the doomsday take was a "marketing fallacy." It's just a calendar What they all agree on is that the winter solstice, December 21, 2012, is the end of the 13th Baktun, a division of time that represents approximately 400 years. On the long-form Mayan calendar, which has fallen out of use, the end of the 13th Baktun represents the end of one big 5,000-plus-year cycle and the beginning of a new one. Where opinion splits is on what December 21, 2012, does mean. Mayan scholars insist the date is no more meaningful than the change of the millennium on the Gregorian calendar. "The solar year is not an arbitrary divider of time; the sun making a complete cycle is a significant astronomical event," says Tom Guderjan, professor of anthropology at the University of Texas at Tyler and president of the Maya Research Program. "But when you put years into bigger groups, they start losing their meaning. A lot of people thought the world was going to end on January 31, 1999, but of course, it did not." Great awakening? Others, like Eden Sky, who maintains the New Age site 13moons.com, writes that winter solstice 2012 represents a turning point in a shift in human consciousness that is happening now. Sky explains that we are in a time of "uncertainty and imbalance" (hello, Occupy Wall Street) and that we are on the verge of a great awakening that can lead to humanity's self-destruction or a more harmonious existence on Earth. Guderjan, for one, isn't buying it. "Some Mayan shamen known as 'h'men' from the Yucatan, who've been hanging out with the New Age set for 30 years, are making good money talking about this renewal," Guderjan says. "Basically, it is profiteering. If you talk to traditional h'men who stayed home with their people, they don't believe this." Sky's page also touches on the Galactic Alignment Theory of John Major Jenkins, what she calls "a rare 26,000-year alignment between the December solstice sun with the Galactic equator," also known as the bright center of the Milky Way. Other popular myths about 2012 including the approach of fictional planet Nibiru, and the reversal of the magnetic poles, which believers claim will cause the earth's rotation to reverse. It's a complicated and fascinating mythology, but according to NASA Astrobiology Institute senior scientist David Morrison, it's a bunch of hooey. Disaster, aliens, oh my As 2012 approaches, obsession with the Mayan calendar seems to be reaching a fever pitch. Roland Emmerich's 2009 disaster film "2012" capitalized on this collective fear. Raul Julia-Levy -- Mexican American actor, filmmaker, and son of late actor Raul Julia -- is producing a documentary film, "Revelations of the Mayans 2012 and Beyond," which purports to have evidence that the Maya had close ties to aliens. "This idea about aliens is disrespectful to the contemporary Maya, living in Guatemala, Yucatan, Belize, and Chiapas," says Bruce Love, a Mayan scholar for the Archaeological Institute of America. "Whatever the significance of the date is, it is significance we are putting on it; it's not the significance the Maya are putting on it. It's not coming from anywhere in the literature or in the Mayan hieroglyphic writing."
