Roger is so kind. So many people skip the About Me but it really is how we connect with each other.

I have to tell you that there is a cat in my lap, and my desk is now near the window with one of the bird feeders where the chickadees zip in and out. A few minutes ago a black-headed grosbeak eyed me while he ate. I can't see the hummingbird feeder from here but I can see them when them stop and sit in the tree or zip off.

I really enjoy where my desk is now!

Your chickadee we would call (similar to) a coal tit and the Gosbeak looks a little like our Hawfinch. We don't have any hummingbirds in the UK though.

Hi Roger,

I can see the similarities. We have both black-capped and chestnut-backed chickadees. We have evening grosbeaks, too, but I haven't seen them recently. Right now one of the cats is sitting in the birdwatching seat so the birds are using the hanging feeder instead of the window feeder.

We see two kinds of hummingbirds, the Anna's with the all red head, and the rufous. The rufous hummingbirds are quite aggressive and I see them attempting to chase all the other birds who are, of course, much bigger than they are.

Well, time for the cats to eat and they are reminding me. I'll be back later.
