Newly discovered. This impatien (blue busy lizzie) is set to excite the world of growers. The blue busy lizzie originates from Tibet If ‘namchabarwensis’ seems a bit of a mouthful it’s because the new busy lizzie hails from the Namchabarwa Canyon, or Tsangpo Gorge in Tibet. It’s a dramatic region, so it’s not surprising that it has thrown up a plant with a dramatic colour. The river that runs through the Gorge, the Tsangpo is apparently called the ‘Everest’ of rivers’ as it flows 3000 meters above sea level. The area is held to have special importance for Tibetan Buddhists.
