N.C. Teacher Tells Student He Could Be Arrested for Talking Badly About Obama

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/n-c-teacher-tells-student-he-could-be-arrested-for-talking-badly-about-obama/

SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO

Last Monday, a high school student in North Carolina engaged his social studies teacher in a heated debate about politics and the two leading presidential candidates. During the exchange, the teacher (an obvious Obama supporter) got very angry with the student and accused him of disrespecting the president. She even went so far as to tell the boy that he could be jailed for speaking ill of Obama.

Sarah Campbell of the Salisbury Post first reported on the story. She claims that the school district is not releasing the name of the teacher and that she is not responding to requests for public comment (although the two students identified her to the newspaper). According to Campbell’s story, the teacher will not be suspended or even face disciplinary action for what was heard on the recording. A statement from the school was released at the end of the week:

“The Rowan-Salisbury School System expects all students and employees to be respectful in the school environment and for all teachers to maintain their professionalism in the classroom. This incident should serve as an education for all teachers to stop and reflect on their interaction with students. Due to personnel and student confidentiality, we cannot discuss the matter publicly.”

So, how bad was the exchange? It got fairly heated, with the teacher shouting at times. The kerfuffle started after one student asked a question about the teacher’s “fact of the day” that said Romney was a bully back in high school. A student asked:

“Didn’t Obama bully somebody, though?”

The teacher started to get angry and said:

“Not to my knowledge.”

A couple of students relayed the story about Obama admitting that he bullied someone when he was younger. And that seemed to light the fuse on his teacher’s anger. A couple of the students exchanged words with the angry teacher.

“Stop! Stop! Because there’s no comparison. He’s running for president. Obama is the president.”

As one student attempted to argue for a fair, two-sided debate on the history of the candidates, he was shouted down and talked over by the teacher. She continued:

“You got to realize, this man is wanting to be what Obama is. There’s no comparison.”

Once again, the students pressed for equal discussion of the histories of both men, with one saying:

“If you’re gonna talk trash about one side, you gotta talk trash about the other.”

The teacher just seemed to dig her heels in deeper and press her defense of Obama telling the defiant teen:

“You will not disrespect the president of the United States in this classroom.”

Again the student persisted and invoked his First Amendment right.

“I’ll say what I want.”

The still unidentified teacher read the student her rules…her Obama rules.

“Not about him, you won’t!”

The back and forth continued and the most strident of the two students reminded his teacher that President Bush was constantly treated to negative statements about him while he was in office:

“Whenever Bush was president, everybody talked sh-t about him.”

To which the teacher responded:

“Because he was sh-tty.”

The social studies educator went on for a full minute with more ranting, saying that people were arrested for saying derogatory things about President Bush. The student correctly reminded the teacher that opinions are protected, but you cannot be arrested unless you threaten the president.

Our research has not turned up a single case of anyone in America being arrested for speaking ill of former President Bush. The local newspaper story also mentioned that their discussions about the story with a political science professor could not recall the arrests that the teacher was speaking about.

The entire confrontation was recorded by a student and posted on YouTube. Listen below; slight content warning for language.

Hello ALP'ers,
Where the hell are these machines? Why have we not have one of these in every garage?

Many of us have strong opinions and many are here to just advertise our programs, a few are here for the comradrie and most are here for a mixture of it all. Sometimes in the intensity we create for ourselves we forget to seek or simply overlook very important creations.

I believe the following is one we cannot overlook. I suggest we get behind this idea and ask this company to make these machines available to the public and private sectors. We have enough plastics floating in the oceans and in our landfills to make a lot of fuel, fairly inexpensive and reduce our carbon footprints drastically.

This was shared on FB by our good friend Amanda

Plastic to oil fantastic

Due to exceptional circumstances, we are republishing the present story about an exceptional innovation. Over a year after it was originally published, this video brief about the invention of a plastic-to-oil converting machine recently got a viral boost and exceeded 115,000 views on YouTube.

This is evidence that concern over “the plastic problem” is certainly not going away, despite encouraging bans on and decreases in the use of plastic shopping bags.

Here on Our World 2.0, on the video’s YouTube page and those of re-posters too, as well as on the hot Reddit Science link, the topic has generated much interest and debate amongst commenters.

Many think that this type of recycling is not a solution, but that instead the world should be seriously focused on the first “R” — which is reduce. We should shun single-use plastic (such as your average PET bottle or disposable container) altogether, they argue. The world’s oil resources are diminishing; does technology like this enable our denial of that fact, or is it a hopeful and constructive step in the right direction?

Others have concerns about pollution or toxic residue from the conversion process. Blest tells us that, if the proper materials are fed into the machine (i.e., polyethylene, polystyrene and polypropylene — PP, PE, PS plastics), there is no toxic substance produced and any residue can be disposed of with regular burnable garbage. They also explain that while methane, ethane, propane and butane gasses are released in the process, the machine is equipped with an off-gas filter that disintegrates these gases into water and carbon.

Lastly, commenters from around the world are anxious to know if and where they can purchase a machine. Though the company still mainly produces larger, industrial-use machines, Blest Co. will be more than happy to hear from you. Please contact them directly at info@blest.co.jp.

Below is the original article, published on April 14, 2009.

We are all well aware of plastic’s “rap-sheet.” It has been found guilty on many counts, including the way its production and disposal raises resource issues and lets loose extremely negative environmental impacts.

Typically made from petroleum, it is estimated that 7% of the world’s annual oil production is used to produce and manufacture plastic. That is more than the oil consumed by the entire African continent.

Plastic’s carbon footprint includes landfilling and incineration, since sadly, its recycle rate is dismally low around the globe.

Plastic trash is also polluting our oceans and washing up on beaches around the world. Tons of plastic from the US and Japan are floating in the Pacific Ocean, killing mammals and birds. Perhaps this tragedy is best captured in the TED presentation by Capt. Charles Moore of the Algalita Marine Research Foundation.

Using less, or use it better?

Thankfully, there are those who fully appreciate that plastic has a higher energy value than anything else commonly found in the waste stream. A Japanese company called Blest created a small, very safe and easy to use machine that can convert several types of plastic back into oil.

If we burn the plastic, we generate toxins and a large amount of CO2. If we convert it into oil, we save CO2 and at the same time increase people’s awareness about the value of plastic garbage. —Akinori Ito, CEO of Blest.

Though Japan has much improved its “effective utilization” rate over the years to 72% in 2006, that leaves 28% of plastic to be buried in landfills or burned. According to Plastic Waste Management Institute data, “effective utilization” includes not just the 20% that is actually recycled, but also 52% that is being incinerated for “energy recovery” purposes, i.e., generating heat or electric power.

“If we burn the plastic, we generate toxins and a large amount of CO2. If we convert it into oil, we save CO2 and at the same time increase people’s awareness about the value of plastic garbage,” says Akinori Ito, CEO of Blest.

Blest’s conversion technology is very safe because it uses a temperature controlling electric heater rather than flame. The machines are able to process polyethylene, polystyrene and polypropylene but not PET bottles. The result is a crude gas that can fuel things like generators or stoves and, when refined, can even be pumped into a car, a boat or motorbike. One kilogram of plastic produces almost one liter of oil. To convert that amount takes about 1 kwh of electricity, which is approximately ¥20 or 20 cents’ worth.

The company makes the machines in various sizes and has 60 in place at farms, fisheries and small factories in Japan and several abroad.

“To make a machine that anyone can use is my dream,” Ito says. “The home is the oil field of the future.”

Perhaps that statement is not as crazy as it sounds, since the makeup of Japanese household waste has been found to contain over 30 % plastic, most of it from packaging.

Folks let's not go off the deep end say great we now need to ween ourselves off plastics too. I have no intention of putting the human race 500 years behind back to the dark ages and black magic with aliens beings, sorcerer, witches and faeries.

What we can do is be smart and realize we like and need our energy sources and all new ones are welcome as long as Ma and Pa Kettle can afford the solutions.

Hello Friends,

Many of you that know me here in ALP, many, may have differences with me for one reason or the other, I ask you to put that aside, please. The following 54 minutes are important and I beg that you listen. No I haven't gone off the deep end, I don't think. But I have been compelled to share this. I have not followed these guys but I listened to this and something clicked and I needed for you to hear this.

Here is the article that drew me to the above video.

Pentagon Source Alludes to Martial Law Around July 1st, 2012

http://beforeitsnews.com/story/2162/835/Pentagon_Source_Alludes_to_Martial_Law_Around_July_1st,_2012.html

The following URGENT EMAIL comes from a friend of mine, a devout Christian in New England. It is short but to the point. When I begged him to get more details from his contact, he indicated he was too afraid of repercussions if he pressured for more info. But he did encourage me to get this info out ASAP.

-Pamela Rae Schuffert

**********************************

Hello all.

An associate came by today. His brother-in-law works in Belgium for the Pentagon in a high ranking position. He told my associate that "....If you do not get out of America by July 1st, YOU WILL NEVER GET OUT!"

-Doug

**************************************

NOTE-
What does this all mean? What is this Pentagon source alluding to, that he dare not say openly?

Simple.
Let me translate his hidden message for you.

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM is the home of NATO headquarters.

It is also the headquarters for the EU.

NATO TROOPS will be heavily involved in patrolling the streets of America when we finally come under MARTIAL LAW.

They have long been secretly preparing FOREIGN UN/NATO TROOPS for the hour of martial law NWO takeover in America.

I have reported on this extensivelythroughout the years, even interviewing German troops in America who admitted they too would be doing this also in America in my previous reports.

The UN/NATO FOREIGN TROOPS will be involved in GUN CONFISCATION and arresting and firing upon on uncooperative Americans, among other duties.

Therefore they have been informed of WHEN MARTIAL LAW WILL BE TRIGGERED IN AMERICA AND WHEN THEY WILL BE USED TO ENFORCE IT NATIONWIDE.

I always viewed Steve Quayle as a whack job or mind controlled until I heard this at about 01:38 of this video ...I started seeing these flying directly over my house last May (including a Chinook Troop Copter) and they seemed to be flying low under radar off the Canadian Border (Lake Ontario)...All of these clips were filmed by me on my property...I have lived here over 10 years and this is happening now...Is he and all the others right?...I'm rethinking my position on him...
