Yes, helping others make us feel good too....& there's nothing wrong with that. I feel that usually when we help others we don't think about doing so from an ulterior motive. Most of us just respond to someone in need and try to help.
There are always nuts (and maybe we are all a little of this, so if someone is nuts...can they be an un-nut? now I'm sounding like you!) but in general, I believe people offer help for the sake of doing a good deed.
I use to have a saying with one of the guys that I hung out with that "if something is inert...it can also be ert at times." We laughed, but is that true? It's fun making up your own words. I sometimes do that in poetry that I write.
If e e cummings doesn't have to follow the rules...do we?
Hmmm, I think we can also take some liberty in not always following what's expected. But then we need rules, or we have chaos...on the other hand...rules are made for us, not the other way around. Any other ideas?
