YUM!!

Hi Phil,

Thanks for pointing me in this direction. I totally love all of the recipes - I so love to eat! But the best recipe of all:

Prepare one day at a time as follows:
Into each day, put 12 parts of faith, 11 of patience, 10 of courage, nine of work (some people omit this ingredient and spoil the flavor of the rest), eight of hope, seven of fidelity, six of open-mindedness, five of kindness, four of rest (leaving this out is like leaving the oil out of the salad ... don't do it), three of prayer, two of meditation, and one of well-selected resolution.

If you have no conscientious scruples, add a teaspoonful of good spirits, a dash of fun, a pinch of folly, a sprinkling of play, and a heaping cupful of good humor. Pour love liberally into the whole, and mix with vim.

Cook thoroughly in a fervent heat. Garnish with a few smiles and a sprig of joy; then serve with quietness, unselfishness, and cheerfulness.

What a perfect way to begin the new year!! Thanks and

God bless you,

Judy

Hi Cheryl,

Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind thoughts. I always appreciate your comments and I am sure that we both share a love for our Lord. After the health problems this past year, I know that I would not be here to celebrate this New Year without Him to guide and protect me, and I can't help but share His love with everyone.

Just One Request

Dear Master for this coming year
Just one request I bring:
I do not pray for happiness,
Or any earthly thing—
I do not ask to understand
The way Thou leadest me,
But this I ask: Teach me to do
The thing that pleaseth Thee.

I want to know Thy guiding voice,
To walk with Thee each day.
Dear Master make me swift to hear
And ready to obey.
And thus the year I now begin
A happy year will be—
If I am seeking just to do
The thing that pleaseth Thee.

I Wish You & Your Family A Joyful And Blessed New Year.

May The Light, The Peace, And The Compassion Of The One True God & Savior, Guide Our Footsteps And Fill Our Hearts With Love.

Be Blessed My Friend,

Phil

Hi Judy,

Glad you liked the recipes. I love to eat as well. Can't have the pork like I used to, but I still like my Blackeyed Peas and Collards, and some good 'ole Homemade Corn Bread with Cracklings.

GRANNY'S CRACKLING CORN BREAD

1 1/2 c. corn meal
1 c. self-rising flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. pork cracklings
2 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. cooking oil

Mix all ingredients except oil. Add oil to iron skillet, place skillet in oven and preheat to 450 degrees. Add corn bread batter to hot skillet. Bake at 450 degrees until golden brown.

Of course, the recipe you picked is still the best for our health - Spiritual as well as Physical. As long as we leave everything in His hands, it's going to be a Terrific New Year, no matter what may happen here on Earth.

A New Year Prayer

Holy Father,

God of our yesterdays, our today, and our tomorrows.

We praise You for Your unequaled greatness.

Thank You for the year behind us and for the year ahead.

Help us in Your new year, Father, to fret less and laugh more.

To teach our children to laugh by laughing with them.

To teach others to love by loving them.

Knowing, when Love came to the stable in Bethlehem, He came for us.

So that Love could be with us, and we could know You.

That we could share Love with others.

Help us, Father, to hear Your love song in every sunrise,

in the chriping of sparrows in our backyards,

in the stories of our old folks, and the fantasies of our children.

Help us to stop and listen to Your love songs,

so that we may know You better and better.

We rejoice in the world You loved into being.

Thank You for another new year and for new chances every day.

We pray for peace, for light, and for hope, that we might spread them to others.

Forgive us for falling short this past year.

We leave the irreparable past in your hands, and step out into the unknown new year knowing You will go with us.

We accept Your gift of a new year and we rejoice in what's ahead, depending on You to help us do exactly what You want..

I say it again, we rejoice!

In Jesus name,

Amen.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalms 19:14 (KJV)

God Bless You My Dear Friend,

Phil
