God vs. a Computer

(Please click on the link below for a blessing)

By Rev. Dean Beaty 12/7/09

Isaiah 49:15-16 Can a woman forget her sucking child,

that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb?

yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands...” (KJV)

(This poem came about after someone said the wrong name in prayer.)

God is not like a computer that can't think on it's own.

He knows my name and every need before I reach His throne.

If, when I am praying, I misspeak someones name.

He knows who I am speaking of and answers just the same.

As I am growing older this happens more and more.

This no doubt will get much worse till I reach heaven's shore.

My great God can read my heart. A computer can't do that.

Sometimes I enter “dog” when I really wanted “cat.”

I am not a computer geek, but this one thing I know.

If the URL is not exact it won't know where to go.

But my God is omniscient. He knows all, A to Z.

Also He is omnipotent and that's good enough for me.

His grace is all sufficient and His power is always on.

When I knock on heaven's door my God is never gone.

Computers can't forgive me when I make a bad mistake.

If it should lose it's hard drive, it is a real headache.

God never needs re-booting. He's always on the job.

If my computer's power is down, it's dumber that a cob.

So I count on God's great wisdom to always do what's right.

He knows and care and understand and He's near me in my plight.

Do you know this God of mine who sent His Son to earth?

He shed His blood on Calvary that you might have new birth.*

If you will only ask Him to come into your heart.

He promised to forgive your sin and nevermore depart.

* John 1:10-12 He was in the world, and the world was made by him,

and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God,

even to them that believe on his name:” (KJV)
