Where is the Manger?

By Rev. Dean Beaty 12/1/09

Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son,

and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him

in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.” (KJV)

I saw a scene that troubled me,

Of many gifts beneath a tree.

And underneath those gifts galore,

A manger scene was covered o'er.

It struck a bitter cord within,

That I believe is a great sin.

There was no room when Christ was born.

Nor is there now this Christmas morn.

Room for gifts and family friends,

Partying that never ends.

Even laws are past today,

To take the manger scene away.

Merry Christmas,” is a vice.

But please buy our merchandise.

We can scorn your God, you see,

By simply saying, it's P.C.”

We're just as wrong, who claim His name,

When He's not first in our acclaim.

Don't bury Christ beneath the tree,

For by His blood we are set free.*

*I John 1:7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,

we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus

Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (KJV)

The Missing Manger

By Rev. Dean Beaty 12/3/09

Luke 2:7 “And she brought forth her firstborn son,

and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in

a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.” (KJV)

Take a walk through any mall

And count the Christmas trees and all.

Count Santa Claus and all his elves.

Don't forget the ones on shelves.

Then repeat this same routine.

This time count the Manger scene.

No doubt you'll see they're hard to find.

For on His day, He's left behind.

One would think this time of year,

The manger scene would reappear.

But that's how Christ said it would be.

Few there are who follow me.”

Few will choose the path Christ trod.

Preferring more the way that's broad.

Check for sure which path you're on,

Before too long that way you've gone.

Remember why God sent His Son.

To shed His blood for everyone.

But it's a gift that you must choose.*

God's gift of love, please don't refuse.

*Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith;

and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (KJV)

God's Christmas Gifts

By Rev. Dean Beaty 12/5/09

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death;

but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”(KJV)

Christ spoke the words and trees appeared,

And men with axes the forest cleared.

Then from those trees cut boards for walls,

And some were used for manger stalls.

From other boards they made a boat.

On Galilee one ship did float.

And from that ship the Savior taught,

Of life and peace that He had brought.

From God's trees a cross was made,

And on that cross our Savior laid.

Nailed to the cross from iron Christ gave,

That by His blood man's souls to save.

Then to a grave hewn in a stone,

That Jesus made while on His throne.

But from that grave He rose again,

A victor over death and sin.

All these things He made for me,

Manger, boat and Calvary.

Like any gift, you must receive.

This one is yours if you'll believe.

JOHN 1:12 “But as many as received him,

to them gave he power to become the sons of God,

even to them that believe on his name.” (KJV)

Acts 16:30-31 “...Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ,

and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (KJV)

Christmas

My Favorite Christmas Song “(Oh Holy Night) brings back memories of Dean singing it every Christmas season! But Jesus was "Born to Die" to take our sins away so we could one day enter heaven to be with our Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus proved He is God by coming back to life and returning to heaven where He is waiting for His bride. Could this really be for us who know have trusted Him as our Savior? The Angel Gabriel said of Mary, "Hail thou highly favored of God" Did you

realize that same term is used of us in Ephesians 1:6. "To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved."

Our pastor said twice in that verse the Greek says how highly favored we are. Think on this and it will give you a great deal to rejoice in.

Love because of Christ,

Dean & Gladys

Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful.

Oh yes we need that reminder.

Even the most devout among us has to confess to straying from the real message.

DEan, you have a special gift. Thank you for sharing.

Roger
