It's time to congratulate Ana Maria Padurean, this week's POTW: http://community.adlandpro.com/forums/post/2374778/ItsTimeToCongratulateANAMARIAPADUREANThe213thPOTW.aspx
Michigan:
Rains too much but don't matter
I've been rained on before and
never melted yet, and never
stopped living thru it.
Rains when I'm walking
rains when I'm talking
rains when I'm driving
you get the picture.
Michigan rain and wind
and the people all ask
each other...
does it bother you much?
But they're not talking about rain.
Looking for work, wondering why
wetness keeps falling from the sky
and they turn and ask...
What do you think of the neighborhood?
And we all agree it's better in snow
sparkling and crisp, nobody bothers
each other because it's too cold.
That's why they ask,
Do you mind?
At the bank, on the street,
in the school, do we mind what?
Gradual turning of wet blown leaves
and grass growing up thru the sidewalks.
Do we mind? What?
If we're all different? It's okay.
When the quiet and cold
of winter comes, we don't
bother each other.
But now in the rain...
We talk about it.
It don't bother us much,
the rain and the gray
is made from us waiting.
The black and the white
we're all in the rain
and it don't bother us much,
we'll stay out there all day.
We just like to ask
never get tired of asking
at least that's not tension,
asking in the rain, it's okay.
Michigan is turning
and the sky's always gray
but we don't bother each other,
we just ask every day.
Do you remember the sun,
do you remember progress
and the days when we didn't
all show up for one job?
Does it bother you much?
When we had energy
to notice and say so,
now it don't matter so much.
