You better watch out, you better not click - Santa Worm is coming to AIM (and Yahoo and MSN messengers). Security company IMLogic is warning this week that a Santa Claus worm, dubbed the IM.GiftCom.All worm, is making the rounds of not just AIM, or Yahoo Messenger or MSN Messenger, but of all three instant messaging programs! The Santa Worm starts out by sending its intended victim what appears to be an innocent message from someone they know, offering a link to a file with a picture of Santa Claus. And, in fact, when they click on the link, they do see a picture of Santa Claus. But while they are viewing that picture, a rootkit is being installed on their computer behind the scenes, giving the bad guys full access to their computer. Doug, Is this just a picture of Santa Claus, or can you command Santa to do things and see the video of him doing what you said? I got one like that the other day and did run it. What do I need to do to make sure it's OK? Cheri
