My Song in the Night (sung to “It's Real”)

Psalm 77:6 “I call to remembrance my song in the night:

I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made

diligent search.” (KJV)

Has your faith in God been weakened

cause deliverance is delayed?

Does the promise of His coming

seem for now to have been stayed?

It is easy to grow weary

when the night is dark and long.

But remember God still loves you.

In the night will give a song.

The Lord never said our pathway

would be smooth and free of pain.

But He promised to go with us

and His home would be our gain.

Do not doubt the God of mercy

has a plan we might not see.

When He makes it clearer later

with His will, we will agree.

On our way we may be tempted

and begin to doubt His care.

But He promised that He'd never

give us more than we can bear.

So we lean upon His promise

and we look to God for grace.

Then we ask the Lord to help us

till the day we see His face.

He's near, He's near. Yes, I know He's near.

My doubts and fears are ended,

since I know my Lord is near.
