Myrna,

Before Dalmatia became touristic attraction (second half of past century), there was a terrible poverty. Adriatic sea - surrounded by mountains (stone, without soil). Lyrics of this song speaks of a young man who went abroad (to study) .... taking with him, as only what he "owned", one pics in his heart ... And when the years passed ... (said half in a bad Italian language - half of Dalmatian dialect is croatized Italian, and thanks to it I almost understand Italian) ... when he finally was back, he met her, but with the child in her hands. He curses love (and reminds me on Gabriel García Márquez and "Love and other demons" ).

Next song is also Dalmatian. Last before begun my sister`s cremation - the Church Chorus sung this song. It was Ana`s favorite (speaks about an olive tree, the last what a dying man could saw)

Kathleen,

I wish you`d stay enough long, to be able to go all around Serbia ( a many places I will also see for the first time) and Croatia (through CRO I can walk sleeping - that`s my country :) ).
Maybe we made some new videos.
Glad you liked the songs.
Hugs,
B.

Branka,

What would be more important and memorable?

Looking at the earth alone?

Or looking at someone special, no matter where we are, outside or inside, rain or sun? When we're with people we want to be with, the surroundings could be anything.

Branka, in my opinion (not only mine) the best folk songs, are from Macedonian area.
A mix of Bulgarian, Sebian, Aromanian (Cincari), Greek and Albanian.
So find something of Selimova Zhelcevski, or maybe another, because it is really best fok music from places of former Yugoslavia.
