Fear of Man and the Fear of God
By Rev. Dean Beaty 9/03/09
Psalm 27:1 “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (KJV)
Isaiah 41:10 “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am
thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee
with the right hand of my righteousness.” (KJV)
There is no peace for the fearful, for fear is like water on fire.
These two will not go together for the fire will have to expire.
Three hundred and sixty-five times, “Fear not,” is found in God’s Word.
For every day of the year God tells us that peace is assured.
This life has many hard trials. Each one could cause us to fear.
“Lo, I am with you always.” His spirit will always be near.
These were the words of the Savior. They constitute a guarantee.
With Almighty God at our side, His presence assures victory.
There is one fear that is holy and that is the fear of the Lord.
Fear of displeasing the Savior, this God will surely reward.
Faith, trust and loyal surrender stem from God-honoring fear.
Living a life without reverence is a life that’s not wholly sincere.
A casual acquaintance with God shows lack of true reverence of Him.
A flippant attitude towards God is an attitude He will condemn.
We live in an irreverent time. Men think that with God, its okay.
But God is perfect in Holiness and we must approach Him that way.
