After a long weary day of marching through the bitter cold during his Russian campaign, Napoleon stood in his stirrups, turned towards his army strung out 3 miles behind him and yelled, "Halt". Immediately a foot soldier peeled away from the end of the column and began to trudge the 3 miles towards his leader at the front. After some considerable time the soldier reached Napoleon and said, "Yes, my emporer?" Napoleon looked at him and said, "What do you want?" The tired and weary soldier replied, "You called me, sire". Napoleon said, "I yelled out HALT". The soldier replied, "I'm sorry, I thought you said, Walt".
