Re: Question: Choosing Keywords

Hi all, In adding to what Linda said about "off site" optimization. When you have an article linking back to your site or have someone else linking....Where most sites have the "click here" for Adobe...You want to specify to those that link to you what you want your "text" to be. So You won't be optimized for "click here". LOL Also, When adding content to your site or articles to link back. Look for different keywords and phrases that are related to your main ones. Some of the least likely phrases could turn out to get you the most searches. Remember that SE's search for relevant "pages" not sites. If there are NO pages in the engines optimized for your specific keyword, even if you have no PR, your page will be number 1! And if there are many....you have to work on popularity a lot harder. Just my 2 cents, Angela

Re: Question: Choosing Keywords

When I first started my web site 6 years ago I made it on page one near the top for lots of the gourd keywords. Now all these years later so many new sites have gone up and as far as Google is concerned you would be hard pressed to find my site. Now on Yahoo and MSN, my site is easy to find for lots of keywords. When I look through the sites Google has listed in the top spots I wonder how how some of them even made it there. It must not be for keywords because I always check the keywords the top spots have listed and most of them are the same as mine. I am hoping that one of these days I will get back on top with the help I find in these forums. Martha
