Hi Kathy, Thanks for the post, & I agree wholeheartedly that appreciation is key to coming to a place of receiving something different. The good & the bad make up the whole. We can learn from both & look forward to a different outcome if this is our desire. Growth happens when we can be thankful. Many blessings to you & girls, Cheryl

Hi Kathy, This is a very important post - perhaps more important than most people even realize. Our health physical, emotional and spiritual health depends on being satisfied with what we have at the moment. Disatisfaction causes bitterness. Bitterness ruins friendships, something we depend on for emotional health, causes cronic illnesses as our system becomes worn down through worry and sleeplessness, and ruins our spiritual health as we become increasingly cynical about life and lose our ability to trust. This does not mean that we need to stop striving to rise above where we are now. As a person who has put my trust in Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour, I believe that it behooves me to always strive for excellence in everything I do. This means that while it is right for me to be satisfied with where I am right now, to stop striving for excellence in everything would be to turn my back on the level of excellence that was displayed by my example, Jesus Christ, who has called me to follow him. Striving for excellence does NOT mean striving for wealth, health and happiness. These things can come to us as a product of whatever we are called to do, but they will ultimately mean nothing when we leave this life. It is the legacy we leave behind that has real value. If the way we live our lives makes a positive and meaningful difference in the lives of others, we have achieved GREAT success. God bless, Dave
