Latest update on Stephen Vanslette Larry, Well, they finally got the surgery over with on Stephen's jaw. Only one problem, they couldn't remove the neck collar on his neck to do the surgery right, so they improvised. They didn't do the plates like they intended, so they just placed the jaw the best they could and wired his jaws shut. He will be like this for three weeks, which, because he cannot move the jaws at the "growthplate" where their broken as well, they may grow into place and he won't be able to open his mouth very much. Also, last night, the doctor who did the ct scan said Stephen may have suffered a minor stroke because he has blood pools in the left part of his brain, which is probably why he doesn't move his right side much. He did wake up yesterday and nodded when I asked him a question, then he squeezed my hand and wouldn't let go. He is more aware every day, and now that the jaw surgery has been done, they are going to start "weening" him from the drugs and the ventilator. It will be three weeks before the wires are gone from his mouth and the trach is removed. Then they will remove the feeding tube. All in all, it is going ok., I guess. We still don't know the extent of the damage, but at least I know he understands me and knows who I am. That's a start. They also put casts on his legs today. Right one is a full leg cast, the left is only to his knee, but the upper one has plates holding it together, and didn't need it. That's about it for now. I'll still keep you updated. New update on Stephen Vanslette Hi Larry, Just to fill you in: Stephen has had the collar removed from his neck as there appears to be no damage to it. He is off the ventilator, but is still on oxygen. (not much, so that may change). They are taking him off the sedatives, and pain medications, so he will be more awake soon. Surgery on his jaw went differently than anticipated because the brace was still on, but it looks good at this point. He is still a bit sluggish on his right side, but that is expected, with the damage to the left side of the brain. We hope therapy will help this. That is left to be seen, as is all the therapy he will be needing. I was informed last night that he will be in ICU for another 3 weeks, about another 3 weeks on another floor, and then transferred to a facility to do major therapy...so he won't even be released to go home for more than 2 months. This will be making it more difficult for the entire family, because we all miss him and want him back home, but he needs to be able to function as much as possible, so it is a sacrifice we all have to make. If we do move to Vermont, assuming we can catch up on the mortgage his dad left with the house, we will have him moved to Burlington University Hospital. They have a great therapy unit, and they are one of the best hospitals we know. It will be about 30 miles from the house, but it can be done. That is about all we know right now, but I wanted to keep you updated. Thank you for being my friend, Lola Vanslette

To ALl Concerned: It is with deep regrets that I submit my resignation from the Wizards Of Success Adventure Team, and the Wings Of Success Advisory Teams. I have been battling with getting "crashed system" back online the last several days, (total of 68 hrs most of them consecutive) only to find out there is no way to recover various communication devices; numerous e-books/software /resources that was earmarked for use with this program. I am now so far behind with everything, there is no chance of full recovery. I wi9sh each and every one of you all the success in this venture. regretfully; Steven G. Reid
