My experience with Meditation
11/15/2005 7:08:35 PM
Hi everyone, Do you meditate? Do you want to meditate? I had a powerful experience with meditation recently that I want to share with you. Many years ago when I heard people talk about meditation, I thought it was a complicated process that I would have to learn to do in order to gain the benefits of meditation. I went to a meditation class where I learned a technique for breathing purposefully through my nose, alternating nostrils. I loved it and I have practiced it many times. It requires focus and concentration, which of course is a good thing. I have also come to realize that meditation does not have to be complicated. It can be simply being still for a 60 seconds with my eyes closed and listening to the air coming in and out through my nose. I think that is a powerful exercise too. A couple of months ago my husband and I were introduced to what I thought was a new form of meditation using a new technology. I have since learned that this program has been around for a few years and it seems I have just discovered it. For that I am very grateful. This new technique for meditation is exactly what I need because I am not always able to "sit still" long enough to get the benefits of meditation. I have lots of chatter and my thoughts race around in my head. Now I don't have to stop my thoughts and concentrate or focus. I just put on my head phones and listen to the meditation and it "takes me away." I believe that everyone has their own individual experience when meditation. This is my experiece with the new meditation technology I found at http://www.MeditateInstantly.com The FIRST time I listened to the 30 minute meditation, when I heard the sound of the rain and other chimes and tones I found myself sitting on a huge porch in the middle of a jungle where it was raining really hard all around me. I was sitting in a porch swing with my husband Dennis and we were snuggled under a blanket, feeling warm and secure as the rain pounded down around us. All of a sudden, my son (who passed over 2 1/2 years ago) came walking around the corner of this huge wrap around porch - with a huge smile on his face. He didn't say anything. He just sat down in a chair next to me and looked at me. At that time my husband was not present and it was just me looking at my handsome son and feeling so grateful for this opportunity to see him again. I had such a wonderful feeling of peace and joy, as if he were telling me all is well. Ahhhhh, that was wonderful and did my mother's heart so much good. The SECOND time I listened to Holosync, I was on the same porch in the same swing with the same rain pounding down all round us - and this time my son walked around the corner of the wrap around porch with my grandfather, his great grandfather, who passed over when I was 11, so my son Brian had never met him. I haven't had that experience again. Now I find such peace and comfort in listening to this meditation. I'm up to an hour of listening and now I set an Intention and just allow my thoughts to come and go while I listen. I have learned that this meditation stimulates the creation of new neural pathways between the right and left hemispheres of your brain, balancing your brain and leading you to a high-performance state scientists call "whole brain functioning." You can get a fr..ee CD with a sample of the meditation... but I will warn you... I went to the website to order the demo CD and I was so impressed with what I read that I ordered the program on the spot! http://www.MeditateInstantly.com Pretty powerful stuff! I know some of you are already using this technology and I would love to hear of your experiences.

Hi, Linda (Linda in Portuguese means beautifull) :) Thanks for inviting me to your forum. So, I can only say that the best thing you can do in your life is meditate. In Meditation I find what I am. That is the most important thing for me. I find what is it in me that thinks what I think, does what I do, says what I say. That is my Being. And Meditation takes me there every day, twice. Of course there's a lot of techniques of Meditation. And a lot can be said about that. But, all are good, when they make you "know thyself". Because when you know yourself that is the basis for knowing what to do and how to do it. Only in perfect peace can you know your Self, which is what remains from all the war, only in total quietness can you find your Being which is what remains from all the noise of the thinking and the making. Conscience knowing itself is total blissfull consciousness. Only total blissfullness is total peace since the mind only wonders when it's not fully satisfyed. And bliss is a mind totally satisfied. To meditate is to meet bliss and bring it out to everyday life. That's why Meditation is a tool for happyness. Thank you Linda, once more. I hope you live more and more with your heart full of peace and happyness. Emanuel

. . . Hi Linda, Thanks for the nice forum. I meditate when I feel I need to. I practice TM Transcendental Meditation. I really like the fact that there is no focus or concentration you just let your mantra come and go as it pleases and let your thoughts bubble up and away. When I first started it was more stressful than relaxing because I would get very frustrated trying to "make" myself meditate. But, eventually, I learned that there is no forcing or concentration or focusing needed. Just setttle, like the waves on the ocean settling down to the surface where all things originate from. We can all go to that place, where everthing comes from and everything returns to, just like your experience. It's a wonderful feeling. Jim
