Heather, Take a good look at three of the biggest Internet scam artists of the last few years and see what they all have in common: Mark "The Minister" Yarnell (NuSkin, Ie Crystals, ATG, 21st Century Global Network and now Legacy & BioChoice) Richard Slaback (BigSmart.com, Jewelway, Freeway 100, Destiny Telecom and KM.NET) Phil "The Preacher" Piccolo (OneSource Worldwide Network, YourFreeMall.com, ReferEveryone.com, thewwwlink.com, PAP System, OneQwest.com and many, many more.) ANSWER: They all wear their religion on their sleeve and use it as a marketing tool to promote their MLM careers and fortunes, and unfortunately alot of their brethren buy into it. For me, espousing ones christianity in an opportunity has become a huge red flag. Bob

Hmm, Interesting comments. Somewhat predictable. Either you are all very enlightened, or REALLY tough and experienced hombres, or you have no idea what goes on at certain levels of MLM's OR maybe... you are like a bunch of guys & gals standing around a barbecue yappin' on about what a useless boxer Mike Tyson was and then... ...oh-oh ... ... in walks Iron Mike. Holy jumping Jesus! Hmm. To experience intimidation is to know how it feels. If you haven't experienced it then you won't know exactly. Oh, you can surmise, of course. It's a bit like telling a teenager what sex is all about. But when they experience it themself, well, that's a whole new experience, isn't it? There will be people reading this now and in the future who will know EXACTLY what religious pressure some MLM's will bring to bear on fledgling recruits. They will know some of the other pressures too. David, some time back shared some of his thoughts. He knew what I was talking about because he experienced some of it. And for that I thanked him for having the courage to come out and say it. I have listed six concerns that I referred to as grenades, purely for the sake of literary entertainment, that have been experienced by more than 100,000 people in many countries. Maybe millions have experienced them. I wouldn't know the exact number. Only the guy at the top would know that figure. Just because the half dozen or so folks posting here like to scoff at them does not mean to say that they don't exist. I'm gonna put a door on the bomb shelter, stock it and call it a wine cellar. Then I'll go to eBay and advertise my flak jacket, kevlar helmet, twice used rocket launcher and all my Yager MLM tapes. Oops, I forgot, I tossed them out years ago - all 400 or so of them. Hey Gary; =========================================== To experience intimidation is to know how it feels. If you haven't experienced it then you won't know exactly. Oh, you can surmise, of course. ... Just because the half dozen or so folks posting here like to scoff at them does not mean to say that they don't exist. =========================================== A few things. 1) Sometimes I give you the gears a little more than anyone else - simply because I also know you outside of Adland. Always keep that in mind and don't take my replies the wrong way. *wink* I never scoff at you. At people doing those things? Sure. At the absurdity of it? Absolutely. 2) Intimidation and I are old friends. Some of what I have been through and the people i have been up against in my lifetime would make MLM kingpins look like Shirley Temple. But then, you know me well enough to know I walk my talk. 3) But perhaps most important of all.... if there are "lurkers" reading these threads, there are three valuable things they can learn. [a] If they are going through any of those things, they can know others did too and that "they" are not the problem. They will know that by some of the experiences others have had, such as you and David and others that also dropped out of bad programs. [b] They can also hear responses from people like me and Heather etc., that help build their resistance to bullying and intimidation. If they didn't hear that end of it, would they just think "this is how it is in MLM?" and... [c] They can also read responses from people like Winston and Heather and learn that there are MLMs that DON'T work that way and that are a pleasure to work with. Expressing all sides of an issue helps everyone. : ) Linda
