Power Of Fun & Teaching People

A friend introduced me to venture in a unique way. He asked if I like to golf. This led to taking his son's buisness card that showed the venture's name and web site. After checking the site, it was obvious that here is another way to get involved with a glorified but legal pyramid house of cards. Why am I replying with this? The intro line, "Step out of the box and on to the tee box" is first class but the core of this are not for me.

----------------------------------------------- [a] most people don't do well in NWM [b] probably because most people don't know how to sell and look up to people that don't want to sell and are recruiting hoping the recruits will sell ----------------------------------------------- That's pretty much it in a nutshell Linda. I don't know about today, but that thinking is what brought on one of the biggest problems that people in MLM taught to their downlines years ago. Namely, "Sponsor as many as you can, throw them against the wall, and see who sticks". Some people became great sponsorers of people but didn't have the first clue of making sales, the backbone of any business, MLM based or not. -------------------------------------------- Imagine the power if we could find a business that was [a] Fun [b] Taught people to sell and make $$ while having fun -------------------------------------------- The biggest mistake I see people making today in MLM is just getting involved in the wrong type of business for them. They are more often than not coherced into a business that they end up not liking and then end up with a bad taste in their mouth for MLM businesses because of it.

Hi Winston; ========================================= The biggest mistake I see people making today in MLM is just getting involved in the wrong type of business for them. They are more often than not coherced into a business that they end up not liking and then end up with a bad taste in their mouth for MLM businesses because of it. ========================================= Spot on! Pardon my twisted humor, but don't we humans do that with most of our decisions? I read somewhere that the same thing that people "like" in new partners are the same things they hate when they're getting divorced. In the beginning, he's the strong silent type and she's got a great, mind and isn't an airhead. When they're getting divorced, he's an uncommunicative a** and she's an opinionated bi... *ahem*. Then we get turned off marriage. lol. But you're right. My own bizarre sense of humor aside, when it comes to business, many people choose the wrong one because they fell for a pitch. That's why I write articles like "First Steps for Entrepreneurs" and "King of the Castle." To try help people figure out the right field (1st steps) and plan their way to the top. I figure maybe 1 in 10 people actually use them... The good news, of course, is that when people DO use them, and then write to tell me thank you - heck, that's enough to keep me writing. : ) Linda

Hey Rudy; ========================================== A friend introduced me to venture in a unique way. ========================================== It's funny. A lot of MLMs use that "do you like/use/etc ..." technique. I once had a guy ask me "Do you use household cleaning products?" Duh. No, I prefer to lick my floors and dishes until they're clean. Sheesh. My daughter came over for coffee once. She handed me a little bar that looked like soap, but was softer. She said "just drop it in the tub, Mom" Oooh la, la. I've been buying it since. Now, if she had said "If you like bubble baths, you can join our 3 by 4 matrix and make profit on several levels" I would probably have tossed the little chunk of heaven in the trash and never discovered it's worth. It makes me wonder if there's some message floating around the cosmos that infiltrates peoples' brain once they join an MLM with the message "use cheesy marketing and talk like an idiot." lol Why am I replying with this? (heh...) Because even when the initial approach is unique, if step two is the same lame pitch, the unique approach was wasted. Linda

Howdy you guys, ...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzshhhhhhhhhhhh... ... oops that pesky launcher has gone haywire and the last grenade I fired is zigging and zagging all over the place... Remember when I said?: ---------------------------------- When promises do not meet reality... ---------------------------------- Hopefuls join all starry eyed and then the upline slowly starts to get to work on them telling them they gotta do this and they gotta do that. All of a sudden they find that they gotta do all sorts of things that were never mentioned at the "opportunity" meeting. In other words "A" does not equal "B". First conflict of the mind. Linda said: ----------------------------- "[b] probably because most people don't know how to sell and look up to people that don't want to sell and are recruiting hoping the recruits will sell." ----------------------------- Oh YEAH! That CERTAINLY happens. Find some peons to do the icky stuff (like the selling) while Mr King Pin does all the glamour stuff. I think I made a lot of comments about that a few pages back - past all the detours that we made before we got back on track. Now David: -------------------------- "Ok Gary, Kevlars, flack jacket, face mask, body shield, BS repellent, yup got everything, go ahead -------------------------- BS repellant? Huh? I just wanna say I don't... DUCK! ...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzshhhhhhhhhhhh... Whew, that thing almost nailed me. Like I was saying... I don't tell BS! Oh, howdy Rudy. Just noticed you popped in. You're probably wondering what's going on. There's a rocket-propelled grenade loose in the forum (just having fun!) and it's going all over the place looking for somewhere to land. ...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzshhhhhhhhhhhh... BOOM! ============================ Grenade #5 : "The biggest WEAPON that the upline will use to KEEP YOU IN LINE will be to play the guilt trip over LOYALTY to the group." ============================ For those who have never experienced the controlling techniques of MLM upline manipulators, you can't even imagine how powerful that Ace is when it lands on the table. Talk about committing high treason! More on that later. Any comments? Gary Simpson
