Extremely Important Message About Our Veterans Posted: 25 Oct 2005 05:53 PM Hello Friends This is a message that I just received that I feel is so important that I am placing this post on all of the forums that I am a member of. I don't know what your feelings are about our so called war in Iraq but personally I believe this is an unjustified war and our soldiers are being led into this death trap based on the lies and deception tactics of our present administration. If you believe the same way I believe, please forward this message to everyone you can forward it too. Thank You Most Sincerly, William Vanderbilt P.S. I am a veteran, honorably discharged from service in the United States Air Force on Dec 24, 1974 and I believe that this war is even more unjustified than the Viet Nam War where nearly 70,000 U.S.Soldiers lost their lives. I ask you to please support this cause while our death toll is only at 2,000 Dear william, The sad day has come. Today, the 2000th U.S. service member was reported killed in Iraq. We do not yet know his or her name, but we grieve this death and all the service members and civilians killed in this war. Tomorrow — Wednesday, October 26 — will be the day that we are asking people across the country will join together in “Not One More Death, Not One More Dollar” events. Tomorrow, thousands of us will gather to remember the U.S. dead and as many as 100,000 Iraqis who have died as a result of this war. Join us to say that the war must end, the troops must come home, U.S. bases in Iraq must be closed, and we must redirect our resources to rebuild Iraq and hurricane shattered communities in the U.S. There will be candlelight vigils, direct action, and memorial services in more than 400 communities across the U.S. To get the latest information on events near you, follow this link http://www.afsc.org/2000). Schedules for local events may vary, so you’ll want to check to confirm details. Register now to make sure you get the latest information and keep checking AFSC’s “Not One More Death” event listings for local information as well. On the Not One More Death resources page you will find a downloadable petition, placards commemorating the U.S. and Iraqi dead, and many other resources to use at the event you attend. Please forward this email to your friends and family. If you are a blogger, we encourage you to post information about this event on your blog. After you attend an event, please share your comments about the "Not One More Death, Not One More Dollar" event you attended. Go to http://www.afsc.org/2000/ to post your event report and get instructions about posting photos. It’s people like you, reaching out to their neighbors, who will end this war. For Peace, Peter Lems for the AFSC Wage Peace Campaign team P.S. If you haven’t done so, please sign the "Not One More Death" letter to let the members of Congress know you want them to cut off the funding for the war, close U.S. bases in Iraq, and bring the troops home. Forward this message to your friends. William, I heard it in the news tonight. It is sad, and it is reality. I think war is evil and particularly this one. Thanks for the post.
