Hoildays are approaching.
10/20/2005 11:17:50 AM
HI Everyone, As you know the Holidays are rapidly approaching.Along with the Holidays come many of Scams and Schemes.Thought I would post a few things to let you know what to watch out for. But first I would like to say that, I have been sitting behind the scenes latley due to being very busy. This is why..... See I use to be a licensed Nail Technician. I had to put my License in Escrow a few years ago due to attending to my Mom. Since then we lost track of when to send in the money to keep it good, Well It expired! I have decided that I am going to get it back. So I have been studing to go to board, after getting my license back I am going to go for Manager and then on to become a Instructor. So I would like to appologize for my inactivity and participation to the forums. Now.. Down to business. Here are a few things to watch out for: People asking for Social Security numbers when you write a check, They don't need that at all. Your SS is a private number, for you only!! Clerks looking too long at your CC #, Yes unfortunatly you have to watch out for Clerks also, You don't know who they are or if they are honest.... Why they could have a photographic memory for all we know. Offer in the mail... Yes lots of CC offers come in the mail these days. Some of them ask for money to return with your application. They may be schemes. Especially check out the high interest rates. They also may give you a credit line of say $500.00 Looks Good..... Well when they get thru adding on all the financial charges, you may get to spend $24.00 of that, and have to pay back $500.00+. Also watch out for loan offers... They too could be schemes or such, especially if you are refinancing your home. You could end up loosing the very house you bought and be forced to evict. Always have an attorney go over this paper work, for your own saftey. Now where down to the oldest trick in the book.....Pick Pocketers and Theives. Always keep a close eye on your purse, Never leave it unattended in a shopping cart, I have seen this many of times. The woman goes in to the store and right where you would put a baby, sits her purse. She may turn around to look at things on the shelves, leaving her purse wide open for the taking.Keep it close to your body and always zippened up. Men's wallets should also be in consideration. With the wallet in your back pocket..... that's too easy for theives. They brush up against you, and you will never fell it. Next thing you know.... IT's Gone. Try to keep your wallet in your front pockets, that makes it much harder. Also keep an eye out for people lingering around parking lots of Stores. They could be waiting for a hit. There are so many more I could write for you today although it's never ending. I will leave you with one last though. After your decorations are up and the presents by the Tree, Keep your doors locked at all times. After all.... we don't want the Grinch to Steal Your Holidays!! ****************************************** Tip Reminder: Check Your Childrens Candy on Halloween. Around here the Hospitals offer X-Rays for Halloween Candy :) Have a Safe Holiday!
