Hello Brother Johnny,
Thank you for stopping by and it is always a pleasure to see you! Thank you also for your comments!
I don't think that it mentions trying to usher in one world church or religion here! Here is exactly what it is saying;
During October 2005--and then again in the fall of 2006 and 2007--a confluence of sacred moments in several different traditions invites us to pray with or alongside each other and to work together for peace, justice, human rights, and the healing of our wounded earth.
What the article is telling everone is that this is a very rare thing that is happening next month! Ramadan starts on Oct 3-4, the Jewish holy time also starts on the same days, and lastly the Christian celebration of St Assisi starts a few days later! It also mentions that there are festivals that start a little later in the month for the Buddhist and Hindu religions. The main focus though is on the first three!
The essence of the article is saying this;
During October 2005--and then again in the fall of 2006 and 2007--a confluence of sacred moments in several different traditions invites us to pray with or alongside each other and to work together for peace, justice, human rights, and the healing of our wounded earth.
They are not saying to combine the religions or anything like that! What they are saying is since it is the sacred time for all 3 religions, that we should get together to pray together and talk, and to see if we can work on some of the problems here on earth "together" and try to find solutions to help resolve these issues! Does that make sense to you?
They merely mention the 3 sacred happenings first because it is rare for this all to be happening at the same time, and secondly because of the sacred events there is suppose to be peace, and no fighting etc. during this time.
For instance, the month of Ramadan is Muslims holy month...a time for fasting and during this time there is not to be any violence or fighting going on! The same goes for the other two as well! That is why they are suggesting that during this time of peace we should get together to pray, talk, and try to work on issues that are worldwide!
I think that you misunderstood what the article was saying My Brother. Perhaps you can read it again.
Thanks again and God Bless!
