Sorry for the late reply in this post, but I have been having computer glitches all week.

First, I too was saddened by all the poor animals that had to suffer alone through Katrina and other hurricanes. I hope that people will be more aware of this and helpful in the future.

I remember when I became aware that cats could be trained to use the toilet, my friend from high school had a Siamese cat, Omerion, and one time I went in to use her bathroom, only to find the cat perched on the seat. Boy, was I ever surprised, LOL! Omerion just looked at me as if to say, "Do you mind, some privacy, please!" Actually, when I was a small child, not having any pets at home, I thought cats and dogs did use the bathroom like humans. I only figured out they didn't when I accidentially steped in "something" at the park one day and was told that this is where animals "go"!!!
