HOW TO WRITE A FORUM IN ADLANDPRO
8/8/2009 11:39:10 AM

HI FRIENDS,
I wanted to let new people know how to write a forum and help people who have been here awhile figure it out. I did by trial and error when I first started so hopefully I can help people avoid that.

First, you go to Networking then you go to the left hand sidebar on your page. You click on ADMIN then go to FORUM. Make sure you are in the mode where you can edit the font in different colors. (You will see that when you set up your account ).

That takes you to the forum wizard where you follow each step to start your forum. You can either make your forum moderated or open that is up to you .

To post graphics
you go to the editor bar at the top of the window where you are posting and click on the mountain with the sun over it. You find the image location of the picture and copy it then paste it in the box. You can also copy and paste pictures and post them, that usually works.
I hope this helps and if you have more questions please let me know. To find people here you can go to reports or people find and search for them. Another thing I've done is go to a profile of a person with alot of friends and add them there. You have to invite them and wait for them to accept. Hope this helps some!
Thanks so much and have a great day !!
Sincerely,
Carla

Hi Carla and Shirley,

Here's one of my favorite links, the forum Post History, you can find it by clicking HOME near the top left, then scroll down to Post History and click the Access link: http://community.adlandpro.com/posthistory.aspx

Hi Carla,

Great Forum and great idea.

Anything we can do to encourage others to get involved and to post a forum should be encouraged to do so.

All your advice is good. (The only thing that never works for me is the graphic symbol). Instead I always have to place the picture somewhere like Photobucket.com, copy it, and paste it here. Like this:

Newbies: Carla, here, is one of the nicest and consistent friends that you can have and I recommend that you invite her as a friend.

Carla,

With the advice here and the replies that I received in my forums about successful forums nobody has an excuse not to get it right. We will all help new friends.

My forums on the subject where others contributed can be found at:

Lets all try to get our new friends to visit here.

Carla deserves the support, after all we have just made her POTW, deservedly.
