Thanks, Thomas, for doing this forum. What makes it so great or should I say edifying is the different perspectives each person brings to us. Romans 5:5 This is an interesting verse. I used to read Romans 5:3-5 and cringe because I didn't want more 'tribulation'. To make things worse, the Apostle Paul said to 'glory in tribulations'. Notice though, the end result is to have the love of God shed all over our heart. Who of us doesn't need that? I speculate that many of us do not really know what it means to love God. I know I didn't really know a love for God. I mostly had fear, fear of hell. It wasn't until one day after much tribulation and searching, God put a love for Him in my heart. We, as Christians don't want to admit it so it is not talked about much ...how we need to seek and desire that love. Some might say, "Helen, speak for yourself." Well I just did.
I have included Romans 5: 3 and 4 so you can see this in context.
Romans 5:3-5 (New King James Version)
3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Here's Romans 5:3-5 in Arabic ... I hope this turns outﺭﻭﻣﻴﺔ 5:3-5 (Arabic Life Application Bible)
To see this properly and more of it, go to: www.biblegateway.com Unfortunately, they do not have a Greek or Hebrew translation. Isn't that ironic, since most of the Bible was originally written mostly in Hebrew or Greek, wasn't it? Hopefully they will have those translations on Bible Gateway soon. God bless you all ....muchly! Helen
