Work Smart Not Hard
The title of this thread is the title of one of my favorite books, this post is from Cary Ganz from Network Marketers Alliance Website.

This is for the newbies and anyone else this may help that are debating or contemplating getting involved in network marketing. There are certain things you need to look at before you get involved in marketing.

. Just who the heck is involved? You need to do some serious research and check out the major players credentials in the company, who are these people? Where did they come from? Whats their past? How long have they been in this industry?

.A pet peeve of mine is support, I now know to never ever join a company if they have poor support, your chance of success is greatly determined by the support you receive. If you're going to be making money for people in your upline you deserve their undivided attention. If you can't be shown examples of the kind of support you'll receive, it probably doesn't exist. Don't be afraid to ask other network marketers about a company.

. The product, if you personally don't believe in the product being sold, then you have no business trying to sell it. I recently had an experience like this and it doesn't feel good. This is not an old time western medicine show on wheels, other seasoned marketers and some customers will smell a rat and have no problem pulling the covers off you.

. The compensation plan, how deep and wide is the plan? On how many levels will you be paid? For how long? When and in what manner?

. Start-up and Operating Costs, since this will be your own business, what are the start-up and operating costs?, Nothing is free, don't be fooled this is a business and you will have operating costs, to expect less would be foolish and will only lead to dissatisfaction.

. Network Marketing can be a beautiful thing, just imagine being able to set your own hours, be your own boss, never look at a pay envelope hoping that the pink slip is not there.

. There's no doubt that crooks have taken advantage of untold amounts of people hoping to find their entreprenurial dream but you can't condemn an entire industry just because of a few rotten apples. Just like any other industry, there are the good and the bad. Your job is to find the good.
